Cowboys are working out free agent OL Montrae Holland, Derrick Dockery and Daniel Loper.
The team is looking for veteran depth on the interior with guards Mackenzy Bernadeau (hip), Bill Nagy (ankle) and Kevin Kowalski (ankle) sidelined. Holland and Dockery both spent time with the Cowboys last year. Thu, Aug 2, 2012 05:05:00 PM

Cowboys LG Montrae Holland underwent surgery Thursday to repair his torn biceps.

He's expected to be sidelined 3-4 months, which would put him on track to return for OTAs and training camp. Though he was released in favor of Bill Nagy in September, Holland severely outplayed the rookie from mid-October on.

Cowboys placed LG Montrae Holland on injured reserve with a partially torn left biceps, ending his season.

It wasn't a given that Holland's season was over since he's only dealing with a partial tear, but the Cowboys have opted to play things safe. Derrick Dockery will get the start in Sunday's winner-take-all tilt with the Giants. After making just two starts in 2010, Holland turned in an exceptional 2011 campaign after re-joining the Cowboys in mid-October, grading out as Pro Football Focus' fifth best left guard. He'll turn 32 in May.

Cowboys LG Montrae Holland sustained a partially torn left biceps in the Week 16 loss to the Eagles.

Holland's status for Sunday night's showdown with the Giants is in serious doubt. If he can't go, the Cowboys would be forced to turn to undrafted rookie Kevin Kowalski or declining veteran Derrick Dockery. It's a downgrade for the Cowboys' offense.

Cowboys LB Montrae Holland, re-signed in the middle of last week, received a game ball for his performance against the Rams.

The 31-year-old was "in shape, quick, and remembered everything" while paving the way for DeMarco Murray's breakout game. He's an upgrade on rookie Bill Nagy, who struggled as a run blocker before a season-ending ankle injury.

Coach Jason Garrett confirmed that Montrae Holland will be his full-time starter at left guard.

Holland was released at final cuts and then re-signed last week after injuries to Bill Nagy and Derrick Dockery. Now he's back in game shape and has his weight down to reasonable levels. There shouldn't be much of a dropoff.

Cowboys re-signed OG Montrae Holland.

Starting LG Bill Nagy is done for the year, and veteran Derrick Dockery is still getting over a knee injury. Holland is familiar with Alex Gibbs' scheme and could slide right in if he's in game shape.

Cowboys released RG Montrae Holland.

Holland was briefly the Cowboys' starting right guard job after Leonard Davis was released, but was soon replaced by Kyle Kosier. Holland has started just two games since the end of the 2007 season, and won't be a hot commodity on the open market.

Montrae Holland is locked in as the Cowboys' starting right guard following the release of Leonard Davis.

We've seen speculation that former Chiefs Pro Bowler Brian Waters could get a look, but the Cowboys are satisfied with rookies David Arkin and Bill Nagy behind the nine-year veteran. "Holland has never let us down," owner Jerry Jones said. "He'll continue to get these reps. He'll play well. I'm glad we got him."

Cowboys LG Montrae Holland left Monday's Week 7 game with a left groin strain and will not return.

Holland drew the start in the place of the injured starter Kyle Kosier (Achilles), and was replaced in the game by rookie free agent Phil Costa. Things can't get much worse for the injury plagued Cowboys.

Cowboys OG Montrae Holland, who replaced starting RG Leonard Davis early in Sunday's Week 5 game against the Titans, appeared to suffer an eye injury.

Holland has been ruled out for the remainder of the game. This is potentially a big blow for the Cowboys, as they have one of the thinest offensive lines in the NFL.

Cowboys re-signed OG Montrae Holland to a two-year contract.

The Cowboys failed to address the offensive line during the draft, so Holland will return as veteran depth inside. He was active for every game last season but is no longer a starting caliber player.

Cowboys declared LG Montrae Holland, QB Brooks Bollinger, CB Alan Ball, S Courtney Brown, RB Alonzo Coleman, LB Bobby Carpenter, OG Joe Berger and WR Isaiah Stanback inactive for Week 16.

Holland is still struggling with an ankle injury but could be ready by next week. The Cowboys are hosting the Ravens on Saturday night.

Cowboys guard Montrae Holland (ankle) may not be available against the Giants.

Cory Procter, who has started eight games this season, would likely enter the lineup in his place.

Cowboys LG Montrae Holland left in the second quarter Sunday with a leg injury.

Holland was in a good deal of pain on the sidelines after getting tangled up with a few other players. He doesn't appear likely to return.
