Free agent DE Jarvis Green is mulling retirement.
Green, 32 years old, did not appear in an NFL game last season, but did work out for a number of teams before signing with the Texans in mid-December. He's staying in shape, but says he's ready to move on if no one comes calling. Considering how hard it was for him to find a job last year, his playing days are likely over. Texans signed DL Jarvis Green to a one-year contract.

Green, 31, is a tackle in 4-3 packages and could play end in some jumbo sets. He's only a depth addition for the Texans' get-it-over-with stretch run.

The Browns will host free agent DE Jarvis Green Thursday.

It's the second time he's worked out for them this month. They'll be more desperate to sign the former Patriot and Bronco now that Robaire Smith is done for the season.

The Browns will host free agent DE Jarvis Green on Tuesday.

Green was released by Denver on September 4 after showing nothing in training camp or the preseason. He would be a depth addition in Cleveland.

The Patriots have not reached out to former player and current free agent DE Jarvis Green.

After the Pats released Derrick Burgess on Saturday, it was widely speculated that Green would be headed back to New England. The Broncos had signed Green away from the Pats in March, only to cut him after agreeing to a four-year, $20 million deal. For now, the Pats will roll with Myron Pryor behind starting ends Mike Wright and Gerard Warren.

Broncos released DE Jarvis Green.

Green was signed to a four-year, $20 million contract with a $2.5 million signing bonus as a free agent six months ago. He was immediately projected as the starting right end as the Broncos' overhauled their defensive front, but something happened along the way and Green was dropped to the third team in camp. The ex-Patriot could draw interest from his old team or the Browns, speculates Pats' beat writer Albert Breer. Ryan McBean is now locked in as the Broncos starting right end.

Jarvis Green played "sparingly" with the third team in Sunday's preseason opener.

It's pretty surprising after the Broncos gave Green a four-year, $20 million contract as a free agent in March. Ryan McBean started while Le Kevin Smith and Marcus Thomas ran with the second team. We'll be waiting on an explanation from the secretive coach Josh McDaniels.

Jarvis Green and Ryan McBean were splitting first-team reps at right defensive end during recent offseason workouts.

We fully expect Green to hold off McBean, the starter last season, once training camp hits. With Justin Bannan getting all the work at left end and Jamal Williams locked in as the two-down nose tackle, the Broncos' revamped defensive line figures to fair better against the run this year.

Jarvis Green is the Broncos' projected starter at right defensive end.

Green is 31 and has three sacks in his last 26 games. The Broncos overpaid Green with a contract that can max out at a whopping $20 million over four years, however, so it sounds like they believe he's still capable of playing on three downs. Either way, it's hard to imagine him generating much pressure.

Broncos signed DE Jarvis Green, formerly of the Patriots, to a four-year deal with $7 million in guarantees and a maximum value of $20 million.

Green will make $4.5M in the first year and $7.5M in the first two. The supersub was with Josh McDaniels in New England from 2002-2008. The Broncos have targeted both lines for upgrades in free agency, and Green is the second signing along the defensive front. A versatile rotational lineman, Green can play end and tackle in the Broncos' 3-4 scheme. His signing means Dwan Edwards is likely headed elsewhere.

Free agent DE Jarvis Green is currently en route to Denver to visit with the Broncos.

The Broncos continue their pursuit of front seven help, also hosting NT Jamal Williams on Monday. Green could provide some pass rush off the bench.

The Patriots are still very much in the picture for free agent DE Jarvis Green, according to beat writer Karen Guregian.

Green, 31, is set to make some visits this week and he's already been linked to the Broncos. He has just three sacks in his 26 games and would rotate with Mike Wright, Myron Pryor, and Ron Brace if he stays in New England.

The Broncos have reportedly shown interest in free agent DE Jarvis Green.

"We've gotten some calls from other teams so far, but it's the Broncos and Patriots right now," said his agent. "We're not going to take visits just to take visits." Green, 31, will be a rotational player wherever he lands.

Boston Globe reporter Albert Breer expects the Broncos to show interest in free agent DE Jarvis Green.

New England isn't making a bid to re-sign Green, who has just three sacks in his last 26 games. He'd be a rotational pass rusher in Denver's 3-4.

Patriots DE Jarvis Green, an impending unresticted free agent, plans on testing the market.

Green has been with New England for all eight of his NFL seasons. He became a starter last year when Richard Seymour was surprisingly traded but played a little over half the defensive snaps and had just one sack. He's not coming off his best season entering the open market and is 31. Mike Wright and Ron Brace are candidates to step into a starting role if Green walks.
