Alex Collins (illness) didn't practice on Wednesday.

Players almost always play through illnesses, so this shouldn't have any bearing on Collins' Week 3 status. The bigger concern is Javorius Allen, who only saw one fewer touch than Collins in last week's loss to Cincinnati. For fantasy purposes, Collins is shaping up as more of a back-end RB2.
Sep 19 - 5:26 PM

Alex Collins rushed nine times for 35 yards in the Ravens' Week 2 loss to the Bengals, adding three catches for 55 additional yards.

Collins was breaking tackles — especially on his 24-yard catch-and-rumble in the third quarter — but coach John Harbaugh was addicted to giving Buck Allen touches. At one point in the broadcast, color commentator Troy Aikman matter of factly referred to Allen as the Ravens' goal-line back. Allen indeed converted from the one-yard line for a second quarter score. Collins failed on a one-yard attempt of his own just before the break. On a 3rd-and-1 in the fourth, Harbaugh dialed up a Maxx Williams run. Collins is the Ravens' most-talented — and most-used — back, but he has some work to do before nailing down true every-week RB2 status.
Sep 13 - 11:57 PM

Alex Collins rushed seven times for 13 yards and a touchdown in Baltimore's Week 1 win over Buffalo.

He caught his only target for six yards. Collins powered through multiple tacklers in the red-zone for his TD. He was briefly benched after a second quarter fumble and was rested late in the game with Baltimore blowing out Buffalo. Collins should see a larger workload in next week's Thursday night matchup with Cincy.
Sep 9 - 4:14 PM

Alex Collins broke off a seven-yard gain on his lone carry Saturday in the Ravens’ third preseason game against the Dolphins.

He carried the rock on Baltimore’s second play from scrimmage, picked up a first down and called it a day. Collins didn’t see much action this preseason, totaling 33 yards on three rushing attempts over nine offensive snaps. Even with Kenneth Dixon back from injury, Collins is safe to roll out as an RB2 in all formats.
Aug 25 - 10:41 PM

Ravens re-signed RB Alex Collins to a one-year contract.

Collins was an exclusive rights free agent, so his only options were to sign the tender or sit out the season. Coming off a breakout campaign, Collins heads into the offseason program as the favorite for touches in a crowded backfield. Baltimore also re-signed WR Quincy Adeboyejo, TE Vince Mayle, OL Matt Skura, OL Maurquice Shakir, ILB Patrick Onwuasor, and CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste.
Apr 17 - 9:12 AM

Ravens tendered ERFA RB Alex Collins.

Baltimore also tendered CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste, TE Vince Mayle, LB Patrick Onwuasor and OG Maurquice Shakir. Collins enjoyed a breakout season in 2017, rumbling to 973 rushing yards and six touchdowns after beginning the year on Baltimore's practice squad. He'll face competition from Kenneth Dixon, but Collins should open next year as Baltimore's lead back.
Mar 13 - 4:31 PM

Ravens coach John Harbaugh did not commit to Alex Collins as his lead back moving forward.

Harbaugh did say Collins "has proven the fact that he can be a very good back in this league," but he also said the team will look to "upgrade everything" before mentioning 2016 fourth-rounder Kenneth Dixon, who missed the season with a knee injury. Danny Woodhead and Buck Allen are also still under contract. All of that congestion makes it difficult to peg how much work Collins will see moving forward, but his 212/973/6 performance on the ground this season should at least earn him the first crack at the early-down role.

Alex Collins had 20 carries for 78 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 18 yards in Week 17 against the Bengals.

Collins had a breakout year for the Ravens, rushing for 973 yards and six touchdowns in just 12 starts. The Ravens nearly rode him to the playoffs, but couldn't hold off a late rally from the Bengals. As an exclusive rights free agent, Collins will return next season and has a decent chance to remain Baltimore's primary early-down back. The presence of Danny Woodhead and Buck Allen will limit Collins to a two-down role.

Alex Collins rushed 18 times for 51 yards in the Ravens' Week 16 win over the Colts.

He added three catches for 15 additional yards. Collins has been held to just 70 yards on 30 carries (2.30 YPC) over his past two games, but is still averaging 4.66 yards per carry on the year. He needs 105 yards on the ground in Week 17 against the Bengals to reach 1,000 for the season.

Alex Collins rushed 12 times for 19 yards with five receptions for 33 yards on eight targets in Sunday's Week 15 win over the Browns.

Entering the day third in the league in yards per carry (5.1) among running backs, Collins found no room to operate on Sunday as his longest run on the day was just six yards. Collins had a shot to reach the end zone on the day, but was stoned on back to back goal line carries in the second quarter. Collins will look to have a much better game next week against a hapless Colts defense at home in Week 16.
Sun, Dec 17, 2017 04:26:00 PM

Alex Collins had 18 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 against the Steelers.

He added two catches for 46 yards. Collins continued to stay hot as Baltimore's feature back. He broke multiple tackles and scored on an 18-yard run inside the final two minutes of the first half for his touchdown. He could have had another TD, but was vultured by Buck Allen twice in the red-zone. Collins now has five touchdowns in his last four games. He'll be an RB2 for a Week 15 matchup with Cleveland.

Alex Collins (migraines) wasn't listed on the Ravens' injury report for Wednesday's practice.

Collins complained of migraines after Sunday's win over Detroit but it seems like he has the issue under control. He's been on a roll for Baltimore, averaging 75.3 yards from scrimmage with four touchdowns over his last three games. He'll remain a solid RB2 for Sunday night's matchup with Pittsburgh.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh expressed concern Monday with migraines Alex Collins dealt with following Sunday's Week 13 win over the Lions.

"I can tell you this, migraines are very real," Harbaugh said. "They're tough." It is unclear whether Collins' migraines will affect his availability for Week 14 against the Steelers. Collins has logged 17 or more touches in three straight games and four out of his last five. If he can't play, we would likely see a three-way RBBC involving Buck Allen, Danny Woodhead, and Terrance West.

Alex Collins rushed 15 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns with two receptions for 23 yards in Sunday's Week 13 win over the Lions.

Collins battled through a first half shoulder injury to take over in the second half. Both of his touchdowns came in the fourth quarter, rushing for a 7-yard score to put the Ravens up 27-13 and then adding a 6-yard score to ice the victory after an interception. This was the third straight game that Collins registered a touchdown on the ground, becoming the first Baltimore player to accomplish that since Willis McGahee in 2010. Collins is getting hot at the right time for fantasy owners, but will face a stiff Steelers run defense on the road in Week 14.
