Ravens released CB Walt Harris with an injury settlement.
The 36-year-old drew little interest before signing with Baltimore in late June. It's going to be hard to land another job after dealing with an Achilles injury earlier this month. In all likelihood, Harris' career is done. Thu, Aug 12, 2010 08:41:00 AM

Updating a previous item, Ravens placed CB Walt Harris (Achilles) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Harris was struggling to get over an Achilles injury early in camp. He'll likely reach an injury settlement with the Ravens, at which point he'll receive his release. The 36-year-old could resurface with another team, but he's still end-of-the-roster material.

Ravens released CB Walt Harris.

It's a bad sign that Harris can't even stick on the corner-desperate Ravens. It's likely that he is struggling to return to 100 percent after ACL surgery. Harris also struggled to pass the team's conditioning test and missed practices with a sore Achilles' this past week.

Ravens agreed to terms with CB Walt Harris on a one-year contract.

He was unwilling to sign last week, so perhaps the Ravens added more guaranteed money to the offer. Harris, turning 36 in August and coming off ACL surgery, will add veteran depth with Lardarius Webb and Fabian Washington coming off ACL injuries of their own. Harris won't be guaranteed a roster spot.

Free agent CB Walt Harris reportedly turned down a one-year contract from the Ravens.

The contract was likely heavy on incentives with very little -- if any -- in guarantees. Harris, turning 36 this summer, is coming off ACL surgery and has little left in the tank. The sides could revisit talks closer to training camp.

Free agent CB Walt Harris (ACL surgery) is reportedly drawing interest from "half a dozen teams."

The 49ers are not believed to be one of the teams. Harris indicated that he's fully recovered from his ACL injury, but he turns 36 in August. He won't land a guaranteed contract this summer.

Free agent CB Walt Harris (ACL surgery) wants to play at least one more season.

Harris said he feels good after undergoing surgery last June. The 49ers are not expected to bring him back, so he'll have to win a job in training camp if any team shows interest.

Free agent CB Walt Harris is not expected to return to the 49ers.

Harris is 35 years old and coming off ACL surgery. Even if he wants to continue his career, he's not going to generate much interest on the free agent market.

49ers placed CB Walt Harris (torn ACL) on injured reserve, ending his season.

It's unclear when he'll have surgery. Harris is in the last year of his contract and will be 35 when he hits 2010 free agency. His career may be over.

Walt Harris is getting a second opinion on the torn ACL in his right knee.

Harris is scheduled to miss the entire season, so the delay on surgery won't affect his playing status.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat's Matt Maiocco reports that 49ers CB Walt Harris tore his ACL during Tuesday's voluntary practice.

The Niners could try stashing him on PUP to start the season, but he's more likely to land on season-ending injured reserve. Harris is 34 and in the last year of his contract, so this is a career-threatening injury. If Maiocco's report is true, the Niners will likely have to go with Tarell Brown at right cornerback. Shawntae Spencer is recovering from his own knee issues.

49ers CB Walt Harris sprained his right knee during Tuesday's OTAs.

Harris fell while covering Dominique Ziegler on an out route. He was helped to a cart where he watched the remainder of practice, though a team spokesman says the injury is "nothing major."

In addition to Frank Gore, 49ers declared QB Shaun Hill, WR LeRon McCoy, CB Walt Harris, FS Keith Lewis, G Tony Wragge, T Jonas Jennings, and DT Atiyyah Ellison inactive for Week 9 against the Falcons.

Adam Snyder will protect Alex Smith's blind side. Shawntae Spencer takes Harris' spot at right corner, which is good news for Atlanta's passing game.

49ers CB Walt Harris (knee) is not expected to play in Week 9.

Harris hyperextended the knee in last week's loss. Shawntae Spencer will replace him in the lineup. This is good news for Roddy White and Joe Horn.

49ers CB Walt Harris suffered a hyperextended knee in Sunday's loss.

Harris struggled Sunday before being carted off the field. His status for Week 9 is unknown. Shawntae Spencer is Harris' backup at right cornerback.
