Raiders signed QB Nathan Peterman to a reserve/future contract.
It adds the worst quarterback of the decade thus far to the Raiders' offseason roster. Coach Jon Gruden now has an entire offseason to mold one of his favorite players. Also signed to reserve/future deals were WR Saeed Blacknall, RB James Butler, LB Cayson Collins, LB James Cowser, WR Rashard Davis, DB Makinton Dorleant, P Drew Kaser, OT Jamar McGloster and FB Ryan Yurachek. Raiders signed QB Nathan Peterman to their practice squad.

While still working for ESPN, coach Jon Gruden called Peterman the most pro-ready quarterback in the 2017 draft class, one that also included Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. Gruden thought Peterman should go "no lower than the second round." He went in the fifth and has been one of the worst quarterbacks in NFL history through his first two seasons.

New York Upstate reports free agent Nathan Peterman will work out for the Raiders.

Peterman is "drawing a lot of interest" from the league, and his next stop will be in Oakland. The ex-Bills quarterback will work out for Jon Gruden, who is reportedly "very high" on Peterman's abilities. New York Upstate's Ryan Talbot wouldn't be surprised if Peterman landed on the Raiders' practice squad.

New York Upstate reports free agent Nathan Peterman will work out for the Broncos next week.

Peterman, unleashed. It will be the ex-Bills interception thrower's second workout since he was cut by Buffalo earlier this month. Peterman visited the Lions two weeks ago. Peterman is trying to latch on as the No. 3 somewhere.

Free agent Nathan Peterman worked out for the Lions.

It's the first interest in Peterman since his Buffalo release. Despite starting experience, Peterman is likely going to have to settle for third-string offers. He isn't a lock to resurface.

Bills waived QB Nathan Peterman.

It comes the same day coach Sean McDermott said he was "still confident" in Peterman. The 171st pick in last year's draft, Peterman was dubbed a sleeper pick at the time but went on to be anything but competent in his brief time in Buffalo. The 24-year-old made eight appearances in 1.5 seasons with the Bills, starting four games, going 1-3 with a historically-bad 3:12 TD:INT mark, throwing an interception on 9.2% of his passes. It's pretty telling that longtime borderline NFLer Matt Barkley joined the Bills less than two weeks ago and immediately looked like a Hall of Famer compared to Peterman. We'd bet he eventually gets another shot and a much needed change of scenery. He'll never develop into a starter with long odds of becoming even a No. 2.

Speaking Monday, Bills coach Sean McDermott said he is "still confident" in Nathan Peterman.

We are not. It will be a dark day for the Bills franchise if Peterman is forced into another start this season.

Bills coach Sean McDermott did not commit to Nathan Peterman starting Sunday if Josh Allen (elbow) is ruled out.

If Allen is ruled out, Matt Barkley is the club's only other option. It's worth noting all three of Allen, Peterman, and Barkley split first-team reps at practice Friday. No matter who's under center at kick-off, the Jets' defense should feast as the week's top streamer.

Nathan Peterman completed 31-of-49 passes for 189 yards and three interceptions in the Bills' Week 9 loss to the Bears.

He took four sacks and was pick-sixed by Bears OLB Leonard Floyd on a deflected pass that wasn't necessarily Peterman's fault. Peterman still wasn't any good. He failed to move the ball before garbage time, where Peterman snuck in a one-yard touchdown to end the Bills' streak of 39 straight possessions without a TD. Maybe the Bills will give Matt Barkley a look in Week 10 at the Jets.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Nathan Peterman is expected to be the Bills' Week 9 starter at quarterback after Derek Anderson suffered a concussion against the Patriots.

Un. Leash. The. Peter. Man. Peterman has attempted 81 career passes. According to Pro Football Reference's Play Index, Peterman's 11.11 interception percentage is ninth-worst all time for a player with at least that number of throws. It's the worst INT rate since "Randy Hedberg" for the 1977 Bucs. Peterman is historically bad, but the Bills keep leaving him on the roster and in turn keep getting forced into starting him by injuries. Peterman will be facing Khalil Mack's Bears on Sunday. Our thoughts are with him.

Playing in relief of Josh Allen, Nathan Peterman completed 6-of-12 passes for 61 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Bills' Week 6 loss to the Texans.

Things started well for Peterman. Following a Texans fumble, Peterman led a touchdown drive he capped with a nice throw to Zay Jones in the back corner of the end zone to give the Bills the lead. It went downhill from there, however. After the Texans tied the game with under two minutes left, Peterman threw a horrific pick-six which gave Houston the lead. He followed that up with another bad interception on the next drive to end the game. If Allen is forced to miss time, Buffalo probably would be suited going with newly-signed Derek Anderson next week against the Colts.

Nathan Peterman was benched in the third quarter of Sunday's Week 1 game against Baltimore.

Peterman was a disaster in his third career start, leading the Bills to no scoring drives and zero first downs in the first half. He threw for just 24 yards before getting pulled. Peterman looked completely lost, throwing both of his interceptions directly to the Ravens and taking three sacks. Josh Allen replaced Peterman in the third quarter and should remain the starter going forward.

Bills named Nathan Peterman their Week 1 starter.

Peterman infamously threw five picks in the first half of his first start last year, but he has continuously impressed in camp and throughout the preseason. This decision was likely made in the second half of the Bills' third preseason game when Peterman fared far better than rookie Josh Allen, completing 16-of-21 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown. The Bills are slated with the hardest passing schedule through the first three weeks (at Ravens, Chargers, at Vikings), so Peterman will immediately be put through the wringer behind what is arguably the league's shoddiest pass-protection.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Bills are "absolutely fine" starting Nathan Peterman.

Josh Allen had a rough go in the third preseason game, going 6-of-12 for 34 yards and leaving with a possible concussion. Peterman fared much better in the second half, completing 16-of-21 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown. Allen had been good prior to Sunday's game and is going to start at some point this season, but the Bills could sit him the first few weeks, especially with the offensive line looking like a disaster. If they do, Peterman is the next in line.

Nathan Peterman completed 8-of-10 passes for 113 yards and a touchown in Buffalo's second preseason game.

Peterman did all of his damage against third-stringers. A.J. McCarron started, but Josh Allen stole the show again this week — leading the Bills to scoring drives on all three of his series. With McCarron sidelined, Buffalo's quarterback battle is down to Allen and Peterman. Allen is in line to start the third preseason game.
