Marlon Mack rushed 12 times for 29 yards and caught both of his targets for nine yards in the Colts' Week 10 win over the Jaguars.
The Colts' passing game shredded the Jaguars early in this contest, but the rushing attack struggled to get anything going. That was especially true in the second half, where Mack went for just two yards on three carries. This was easily Mack's worst game since returning from injury. He will look to get back on the right track next week against the Titans. Nov 11 - 4:29 PM

Date:

Marlon Mack (foot) will play in Week 10 against the Jaguars.

Mack was limited earlier in the week but got in a full session on Friday. He'll be available with no limitations against the Jags' front-seven. Mack has undeniably been a strong RB1 over the last three weeks, averaging 18.7 carries and 115.7 rushing yards in that span. It's a tough matchup on paper, but Mack still needs to be treated as an RB1 against Jacksonville given his usage.
Nov 9 - 4:03 PM

Marlon Mack (foot) remained "limited" on Thursday.

A "full" practice on Friday would be nice, but we have to see anything to suggest Mack is in danger of missing Week 10. Mack has been an RB1 since returning from his hamstring injury.
Nov 8 - 3:53 PM

Marlon Mack (foot) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

It's a little concerning to see Mack limited coming off last week's bye, though his foot injury doesn't appear to be serious. Mack has been dominant when healthy this year, especially over his last three games (6.19 yards per carry, four touchdowns). The second-year USF alum will be a borderline RB1 if he suits up against Jacksonville in Week 10.
Nov 7 - 5:46 PM

Marlon Mack (undisclosed) is working with trainers to the side of Monday's practice.

Mack only practiced once because of an ankle injury in the lead up to Week 8 before shredding the Raiders for 132 yards and two touchdowns. It is possible the Colts plan to limit his practice reps the rest of the way to keep him fresh. The Colts do not have to release an injury report until Wednesday.
Nov 5 - 11:54 AM

Marlon Mack blew up for 132 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries while also grabbing two catches for 17 yards on four targets Sunday in the Colts’ Week 8 win over Oakland.

Mack missed two practices with an ankle injury this week but he didn't look hurt Sunday as the Colts rolled to their second straight win. He ripped the Raiders for 132 rushing yards, bettering the career mark he set against Buffalo in Week 7. In doing so, he became the first Colt to rush for 100 yards in back-to-back weeks since Joseph Addai in 2007. Both of Mack's touchdowns came in the fourth quarter as Indy out-scored Oakland 21-0 in the final frame. He's been an absolute boss, contributing 401 yards from scrimmage with four touchdowns in three games since coming back from a hamstring injury. Mack has benefited from workhorse usage, averaging 20.3 touches during that span. At worst, the second-year USF alum will be a high-end RB2 when the Colts return from their upcoming bye week.
Oct 28 - 7:40 PM

Marlon Mack (ankle) is active for Week 8 against the Raiders.

Mack didn't see the practice field until Friday this week but was a full participant upon his return. Look for Mack to lead the Colts' backfield just as he did a week ago in a blowout win over Buffalo (159 yards from scrimmage, two touchdowns). K Adam Vinatieri (groin) will also be available for Sunday's game at the Oakland Coliseum. OT Denzelle Good, WR Ryan Grant, S Malik Hooker, WR Steve Ishmael, DT Hassan Ridgeway, TE Erik Swoope and RB Robert Turbin round out the Colts' Week 8 inactives.

Oct 28 - 2:42 PM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Marlon Mack (questionable, ankle) "has a good shot" at playing in Week 8 against the Raiders.

Mack was trending this way after getting in a full practice Friday. Barring a setback, he's on track to start and handle the majority of carries against a bottoming-out Raiders defense. Mack is No. 9-ranked running back for Week 8.
Oct 28 - 8:30 AM

Marlon Mack (ankle) is questionable for Week 8 against the Raiders.

Mack is listed as questionable, but notably got in a full practice on Friday. That clearly puts him on track to play against the Raiders. Mack's presence would be a massive downgrade to Nyheim Hines, who's played sparingly since Mack's initial hamstring injury healed. Note that the second-year pro handled 19 carries on 56.1% of the Colts' offensive snaps (both season-highs) in a full-time role just last week.
Oct 26 - 3:21 PM

Marlon Mack (ankle) returned to practice Friday.

This would seem to be good news for Mack's status for Sunday in Oakland. We'll have official injury report designations within the next hour or two.
Oct 26 - 12:08 PM

Marlon Mack (ankle) was downgraded to "DNP" on Thursday.

It's possible Mack is just getting extra treatment, but mid-week downgrades are never good news. For now, Mack should be considered genuinely questionable. The Colts would return to a three- or four-man committee in Mack's potential absence against the Raiders. If Mack can go, he will be an RB1 against the Raiders' soft and tanking defense.
Oct 25 - 1:17 PM

Marlon Mack (ankle) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

It's a new injury for Mack, who missed time with a hamstring issue earlier this year. His presence at Wednesday's practice, albeit in a limited capacity, suggests he'll be fine to face Oakland in Week 8. Coming off a career game in Week 7 (159 yards, two touchdowns in a win over Buffalo), the second-year USF alum will be an appealing RB2 against the struggling Raiders.
Oct 24 - 4:22 PM

Marlon Mack broke out for 126 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries while also chipping in with two catches for 33 yards and another touchdown on three targets Sunday in the Colts’ Week 7 win over the Bills.

Mack supplied his first touchdowns since Week 17 of last season while setting career-highs in rushing yards, yards from scrimmage and touches. The second-year USF alum burned the Bills for a number of big plays including a 29-yard touchdown off a screen pass from Andrew Luck during the second quarter. He added another score in the fourth, breaking loose for a 20-yard rushing touchdown. Mack was slowed by a hamstring injury early in the year but he hasn't shown any ill effects the last two weeks, exploding for 252 yards (215 rushing, 37 receiving) on 34 touches during that span. Now firmly entrenched as Indy's lead back, Mack will be in the RB2 discussion when the Colts travel to Oakland for Week 8.
Oct 21 - 4:19 PM

Marlon Mack rushed 12 times for 89 yards and caught 1-of-2 targets for four yards in the Colts' Week 6 loss to the Jets.

He now has 11 and 13 touches through two 2018 appearances. Mack shook off a first-drive dropped pass that was pick-sixed by Mo Claiborne to give the Colts' running game a jolt after it struggled mightily in the first five weeks. The backfield remains a timeshare situation, however, and Mack has passing-game limitations. He will be a boom-bust flex option in Week 7 versus Buffalo.
Oct 14 - 5:29 PM

Marlon Mack is active for Week 6 against the Jets.

The Colts' inactives are DTs Denico Autry and Margus Hunt, TE Jack Doyle, S Clayton Geathers, OL Denzelle Good, CB Art Maulet, and WR T.Y. Hilton. Mack is expected to share time with Jordan Wilkins behind lead back Nyheim Hines.
