Dede Westbrook secured three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown on five targets Sunday in the Jaguars’ Week 6 loss to Dallas.
Like the rest of Jacksonville's sluggish offense, Westbrook was mostly held in check, though he did find an opening in the Cowboys' defense during the third quarter when he scored on a 34-yard touchdown pass from Blake Bortles. Even with Sunday's clunker thrown in, the second-year wideout is still on pace for over 1,000 yards receiving. He'll get the Texans at home in Week 7. Oct 14 - 7:57 PM

Dede Westbrook hauled in 3-of-5 targets for 55 yards in the Jaguars' Week 5 loss to the Chiefs.

Held off the box score in the first half, Westbrook opened the third quarter with a 30-yard catch and converted a third down with a great 23-yard grab on the next drive. That was about it for the receiver, however, who still served as the No. 3 despite his breakout game last week. Westbrook will be a weak WR4 dart throw next week in Dallas.
Oct 7 - 5:41 PM

Dede Westbrook caught 9-of-13 targets for 130 yards in Jacksonville's Week 4 win over the Jets.

Westbrook started fast, racking up six catches for 89 yards in the first half. He led Jacksonville in targets, ahead of both Keelan Cole (3) and Donte Moncrief (5). Westbrook did most of his damage on short passes but was explosive in the open field and picked up most of his yards after the catch. He's now went over 80 yards in two of his last three games. Westbrook will be a WR3/FLEX for Week 5 against the Chiefs.
Sep 30 - 5:00 PM

Dede Westbrook caught 3-of-4 targets for 31 yards in the Jaguars' Week 3 loss to Tennessee.

Westbrook has been expectedly inconsistent in the early going as a rotational receiver on a run-first team. He will get a better matchup in Week 4 against the Jets, who have struggled mightly to contain slot receivers.
Sep 23 - 5:47 PM

Dede Westbrook caught 4-of-5 targets for 83 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' Week 2 win over the Patriots.

Westbrook also lost six yards on a rush. It would have been a lost day for Westbrook, but he managed to turn a fourth quarter dumpoff into a 61-yard touchdown. Westbrook shed a tackle, found the sideline and was off to the races. Those are the kinds of plays he's capable of. Westbrook's upside is tantalizing, but the Jags' receiver rotation currently has him stuck in WR4 land for fantasy purposes.
Sep 16 - 8:07 PM

Dede Westbrook hauled in 5-of-6 targets for 51 yards in the Jaguars' Week 1 win over the Giants.

Westbrook did not get the start, but he looked like Blake Bortles' No. 1 option for stretches of this game including on back-to-back big catches in the second quarter. Westbrook's six targets were the second-most on the team and the most among the receiving corps. It is only a matter of time before he jumps Donte Moncrief on the depth chart.
Sep 9 - 5:21 PM

Dede Westbrook hauled in 2-of-3 targets for 11 yards in the Jaguars' third preseason game.

Westbrook was clearly behind Keelan Cole in the pecking order Saturday night, and that continued even after Marqise Lee's injury. Westbrook did see time with the first-team following the injury, however, and has the talent to force his way into targets. He is a good late-round option.
Aug 25 - 9:29 PM reports Dede Westbrook has remained a standout throughout training camp.

In-house writer John Oehser believes Westbrook might be forcing himself into the Jaguars' top three, and "could be earning him a far bigger role this season than some observers expected." Westbrook has been hyped since the opening days of Jags camp. The Jags have a mass of bodies at receiver, but Westbrook could have some early-season fantasy appeal as a plug-and-play WR4/5.
Aug 14 - 2:19 PM

Jaguars OC Nathaniel Hackett said Dede Westbrook is a better route runner than last season.

Westbrook spent the first 10 weeks of his rookie year on IR. With a full offseason and training camp, he's running tighter routes and is more scheme comfortable. Westbrook started and led the first-team offense in targets in Jacksonville's preseason opener. The Jaguars are muddled at receiver, but Westbrook has potential for a post hype second-year leap.
Aug 11 - 7:35 PM

Dede Westbrook said he feels "more comfortable in the offense this year."

A fourth-round pick last year, Westbrook was struggling to learn the playbook even before a core muscle injury sent him to the sidelines during training camp. Now healthy and coming off a full offseason, Westbrook has consistently made plays in camp, and he could push for a starting job during the preseason. He is a fine flier in the 14th round.
Aug 9 - 10:59 AM reports Dede Westbrook has "continued to flash" in training camp.

A hyped 2017 fourth-rounder, Westbrook has sort of gotten lost in the offseason shuffle of the Jaguars' revamped receiver corps. Although outshined by fellow rookie Keelan Cole, Westbrook put some decent first-year play on tape after returning from an abdominal injury that cost him the first two months of the season. Unfortunately, he's not a sound re-draft investment with Cole and Marqise Lee returning and the Jags breaking in Donte Moncrief and second-rounder D.J. Chark.
Aug 2 - 6:01 PM

Dede Westbrook caught 1-of-3 targets for 29 yards in the Jaguars' AFC Championship Game loss to the Patriots.

A 2016 Heisman Trophy finalist at Oklahoma who flashed 4.39 wheels at the Sooners' Pro Day, 6-foot-0 Westbrook dropped to the fourth round because of concerns about his attitude and commitment. He had an elite preseason — 13/288/2 — but spent the first 10 weeks of the season on injured reserve after undergoing core muscle surgery. Westbrook made some big plays upon his return, but was out-shined by UDFA Keelan Cole. Not that Westbrook disappointed. With Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee both headed to free agency, Westbrook could have a big 2018 role. He's a strong hold in Dynasty leagues.
Jan 21 - 7:02 PM

Dede Westbrook caught 1-of-3 targets for eight yards in the Jaguars' Divisional Round win over the Steelers.

Ten different Jaguars caught passes in this game, but no individual Jag topped three catches as Blake Bortles spread the ball around. Despite playing the most snaps in Jacksonville’s wideout corps, Westbrook was largely a non-factor in a run-heavy game; the Jags finished with 35 rushing attempts compared to 26 passes. The Jags will likely need more from Westbrook when they visit Foxboro in the AFC Championship game.
Jan 14 - 5:21 PM

Dede Westbrook caught 5-of-8 targets for 48 yards in the Jaguars' Wild Card win over the Bills.

Westbrook was the Jaguars' leading receiver on a day where Blake Bortles could muster just 87 yards. Things aren't going to get any easier against the Steelers in the Divisional Round.
Jan 7 - 5:34 PM

Dede Westbrook caught just 1-of-9 targets for nine yards in the Jaguars' Week 17 loss to the Titans.

It was that kind of game for the Jags; Leonard Fournette led the team in receiving yards with 67 as Blake Bortles threw for just 158 yards. The good news is Westbrook remained heavily involved, leading the team in targets. The bad news is he did so little with them, and his Week 18 matchup will be difficult against Buffalo's stout pass defense in the Wild Card Round.
