Dede Westbrook caught 3-of-6 targets for 35 yards in the Jaguars' Week 11 win over the Browns.
Westbrook had a fourth catch on a sensational sideline toe-tapper, but the replay review crew inexplicably said it wasn't a grab. Westbrook also fumbled near the end of the second quarter, but the ball squibbed out of bounds. Per Pro Football Focus, Westbrook was out-snapped 45-34 by Keelan Cole. All in all, it was a positive, if low-key, NFL debut, but not one that suggested Westbrook is about to provide re-draft value. Nov 19 - 6:32 PM

Jaguars activated Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery) from injured reserve.

This was expected with Allen Hurns out with an ankle injury. Westbrook is not expected to play a big role in his first career game, although the receiver predicted he will get 200 yards against the Browns. We will take the under. Westbrook is worth stashing in all leagues, but he is just a desperation fantasy option this week.
Nov 18 - 11:48 AM

According to ESPN Jaguars reporter Michael DiRocco, Dede Westbrook (I.R., core muscle surgery) will not be a "big part of the team's game plan" if he plays against the Browns in Week 11.

Westbrook is tentatively expected to make his NFL debut on Sunday following a lengthy recovery from core muscle surgery. Even with Allen Hurns (ankle) sidelined, it sounds like the Jaguars plan to limit Westbrook's workload, at least initially. The rookie flashed impressive speed and playmaking ability during the preseason but sometimes struggled against press coverage. Regardless, he needs to be added in all formats.

Nov 14 - 3:32 PM

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said Dede Westbrook is ready to return from injured reserve this week.

Westbrook has been eligible to return for two weeks, but the Jaguars have been taking things slowly with the rookie. That is no longer an option with Allen Hurns (ankle) sidelined. While Westbrook should be activated at some point this week, it would not be surprising if he played a limited role in his first NFL game.
Nov 14 - 12:47 PM

Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery, IR) won't be activated for Week 10.

It's the second straight week he'll remain on IR. Westbrook has been setback-free in practice but the Jaguars don't want to rush him back. Marqise Lee (questionable, knee), Allen Hurns and Keelan Cole will continue to play in three-wide sets. Westbrook should have a good chance to return in Week 11.
Nov 11 - 4:46 PM

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone says he hasn't decided if Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery) will be activated this week.

"We’re waiting for him to be ready at the level where we think he can help us. A lot of it is up to how he does in practice." Westbrook is healthy, but Jacksonville wants him to get more scheme acclimated before activating him. That could happen this week depending on how he practices. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Westbrook is expected to return Sunday against the Chargers.
Nov 8 - 4:14 PM

Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery, IR) won't be activated for Week 9.

Westbrook is healthy, but the Jaguars want to get him more than a week of practice reps. It's a conservative move for a bottom-five pass offense. Marqise Lee (questionable, knee) is expected to be active, with Keelan Cole remaining in three-wide sets. Westbrook should return in Week 10 against the Chargers.
Nov 4 - 4:50 PM

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone declined to say if Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery) will be activated this week.

"We have that ability, we haven't made that decision. We'll go back and talk about it." This is coachspeak, though Westbrook missed the last two months and only has a week of practice. Westbrook is healthy and trending toward playing, but not a lock to be active. The Jaguars have been targeting a Week 9 return.
Nov 4 - 2:24 PM

Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery) expects to be cleared for Week 9.

Westbrook got first-team practice reps this week with Marqise Lee sidelined. There haven’t been any setbacks since he was designated from IR, putting him on track to debut Sunday. Westbrook is returning to a run-first offense, but he’s expected to have a top-three role. Coming off a highlight preseason, there's potential for Westbrook to make a second-half splash.

Dede Westbrook could have a "top-three role" in Week 9 against the Bengals.

Westbrook hasn't had any setbacks after Jacksonville activated him from IR. He's been getting first-team practice reps this week with Marqise Lee sidelined. Westbrook was the best wideout in college last year and confirmed his production at both his Pro Day and in the preseason — where he led the league in receiving. With Lee injured and Allen Hurns playing the slot, Westbrook could have a bigger than expected target share in his debut.
Nov 1 - 6:16 PM

Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery, IR) participated in Monday's practice.

Westbrook is expected to return this week after being placed on injured reserve prior to Week 1, and this practice suggests he is on track. The Jaguars have questions at receiver, but Westbrook is a rookie who missed time during camp and the first eight weeks of the season. He will likely remain behind both Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns in the pecking order at least in the early going.
Oct 30 - 11:54 AM

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery, IR) is "on track" to return in Week 9.

Westbrook was cleared to catch passes last week and has been running on the side at practice. Barring setbacks, he should be back when first eligible Week 9 against the Bengals. Westbrook is expected to have an immediate role, and looks likely to make a second-half impact. With Jacksonville not getting much from Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee, Westbrook could see a heavy target share when he returns.

Oct 20 - 5:20 PM

Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (core muscle surgery, injured reserve) plans to return Week 9.

Placed on injured reserve prior to Week 1, it is the first game he will be eligible to play. "I’m progressing really well, actually," Westbrook said. "It’s a lot faster than I thought I would be." With Allen Robinson (ACL) out for the year, Westbrook could have a large role once he gets back on the field.
Oct 7 - 11:33 AM

ESPN’s Michael DiRocco expects Dede Westbrook (IR, core muscle surgery) to return this season.

Westbrook is recovering from early September surgery, with his timetable likely around six weeks. That gives him a chance to return after eight games when first eligible. With Allen Robinson out for the year, there’s a clear path to targets when Westbrook gets healthy. Westbrook had a blowup preseason, going over 100 yards or a touchdown in all three games. The reigning Biletnikoff winner has the talent to overtake Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee.
