Kenny Golladay caught 1-of-3 targets for eight yards in the Lions' Week 2 win over the Giants.
Don't sour on Golladay after this one. He still played more snaps than T.J. Jones as the No. 3 receiver, but the Lions only threw the ball 21 times total and four times after halftime. They held a comfy lead much of the night. Matthew Stafford did look Golladay's way a couple times on jump balls. He'll be on the WR3/4 map next week in a potential shootout with the Falcons. Kenny Golladay played 44-of-73 offensive snaps in the Week 1 win over the Cardinals.

T.J. Jones played just 18, and it was Golladay who obviously stole the show for Detroit, catching a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to put the Lions ahead and then seal the win. Golden Tate and Marvin Jones will continue to run ahead of Golladay, but the Lions ran the third-highest percentage of 11 personnel last season, so there are plenty of snaps available for Golladay to produce.

Kenny Golladay hauled in 4-of-7 targets for 69 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions' Week 1 win over the Cardinals.

Golladay had just two catches for 14 yards heading into the fourth quarter, but he made his presence felt in the final frame. Golladay put the Lions ahead with a 10-yard score on a corner route, and he put the game away for good with a spectacular diving grab for a 45-yard touchdown. He beat Justin Bethel for both scores. The third-round rookie lost some snaps to T.J. Jones, but it will be difficult to keep him off the field after this performance.

Kenny Golladay (ankle) is active for Week 1 against the Cardinals.

There was never much concern about Golladay sitting out, but his role will likely be limited in his NFL debut. Golladay is expected to share No. 3 receiver snaps with T.J. Jones.
Sep 10 - 11:35 AM

Kenny Golladay (ankle) is questionable for Week 1 against the Cardinals.

Golladay got in a limited week of practice. The third-round rookie may not have a big role right away but he'll be a name to watch on the waiver wire.
Sep 8 - 4:08 PM

Kenny Golladay (ankle) remained limited at Thursday's practice.

He should be fine for Sunday's opener against the Cardinals. The third-round rookie showed well this summer but it might be a while before he makes his presence felt in fantasy with Golden Tate and Marvin Jones soaking up most of Detroit's targets.
Sep 7 - 4:18 PM

Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter said Kenny Golladay and T.J. Jones will share the No. 3 receiver job.

Both have been dealing with injuries, but it sounds like they will be active for Week 1. The coordinator said the snap split will be determined by matchups, and Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press wrote Cooter made it sound like Jones "is ahead" in the rotation. That should change as the season goes along, but Golladay's already questionable redraft value will disappear if he is sharing snaps.
Sep 7 - 12:00 PM

Kenny Golladay (ankle) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

The rookie is nursing a minor ankle issue but should be ready to roll for Week 1 against the Cardinals. The 23-year-old was a standout at camp this summer but may not play a big role initially with lead receivers Golden Tate and Marvin Jones soaking up most of the Lions' targets.
Sep 6 - 4:31 PM

The Detroit Free Press doesn't expect rookie Kenny Golladay to have a big early-season role.

Golladay has been trending up with T.J. Jones and Eric Ebron sidelined. He's likely to open the year as a starter in three-wide sets, but has a lot of competition for targets. Golladay hasn't shown much with the ones despite his expanded preseason role. Beat reporter Dave Birkett projects a 35/500/4 rookie year line.
Aug 26 - 5:20 PM

Kenny Golladay caught 1-of-2 targets for three yards in the Lions' third preseason game.

Golladay started and got most of his snaps on the outside in three-wide sets, with Golden Tate playing the slot. He's failed to impress the last two weeks, but has a path to targets with T.J. Jones and Eric Ebron sidelined. Golladay is a high-upside late round flyer.
Aug 25 - 9:45 PM

Lions third-round WR Kenny Golladay caught 1-of-1 targets for six yards in Saturday's preseason game.

The stats are nothing to call home about, but most importantly, Golladay got some reps with the first-team offense. He manned the outside in some three-receiver sets, with Golden Tate kicking inside. Also noteworthy is that T.J. Jones, who had been manning the slot with the first-team offense, departed with a hamstring injury.
Aug 19 - 10:01 PM

Third-round pick Kenny Golladay worked primarily with the first-team offense for the first time in training camp Wednesday.

To this point, Golladay had practiced primarily with Jake Rudock and the second team. Golladay has outplayed second-team status, and is now getting a long look with the Matthew Stafford group. Beat writer Dave Birkett expects Golden Tate to move to slot receiver if Golladay wins a starting outside job across from Marvin Jones. Golladay remains a better Dynasty than re-draft investment, but it's past time we took him seriously as a 2017 fantasy factor.
Aug 16 - 8:20 PM

The Detroit Free Press believes third-round WR Kenny Golladay is on track to play an "important role" in the red zone.

Per reporter Dave Birkett, Golladay hasn't been getting many first-team reps in practice, but has been impressing teammates and the media. Golladay lit up the Colts' backups in his preseason debut, posting a 3/53/2 line. A size/speed prospect, Golladay is a Dynasty leaguer with re-draft flier appeal.
Aug 14 - 3:03 PM

Kenny Golladay snared three-of-four targets for 53 yards and two touchdowns Sunday in the Lions’ preseason win over the Colts.

Golladay couldn’t have asked for a better debut, routinely roasting Indy’s overmatched secondary. His first touchdown came in the first quarter when he snuck a 23-yard catch between Quincy Wilson and Malik Hooker on a play-action pass from Jake Rudock. He found the end zone again in the second quarter, this time nabbing a back-shoulder catch for 15 yards after pulling away from Tevin Mitchel. The Northern Illinois alum has done nothing but impress since arriving as a third-round pick in April. He’s in play as a late-round flyer in fantasy.
Aug 13 - 4:49 PM

MLive's Kyle Meinke writes Lions third-round WR Kenny Golladay put on a "devastating performance" during red-zone drills Sunday.

"The evidence is mounting that Golladay is ready to contribute immediately alongside Golden Tate and Marvin Jones," Meinke continued, "and that's especially true in the red zone." The hype train on Golladay has been rolling full steam seemingly since the day he was drafted, but there has been little reason to put on the brakes. Golladay may not return fantasy value as the Lions' No. 3 receiver, but he should play an important role on offense, especially in the red zone.
