NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Cardinals intend to sign free agent quarterback Tim Hasselbeck.

Hasselbeck would step in as Arizona's third quarterback, behind Kurt Warner and recently acquired Tim Rattay.

Giants cut QB Tim Hasselbeck.

It appears that Anthony Wright has made the team, but the Giants could scour the waiver wire for their No. 3 QB spot.

Giants re-signed QB Tim Hasselbeck to a multi-year contract.

Don't be surprised if Hasselbeck gets competition for the team's backup spot, but he's a solid No. 3 quarterback at worst. Tom Coughlin always prefers to keep a Hasselbeck handy if he needs one.

The Giants are looking for a QB to compete for the No. 2 job.

They have Hasselbeck and Jared Lorenzen on the roster behind Eli Manning, but Hasselbeck is a free agent. Some available backups likely to be out there are Jeff Blake, Damon Huard, and Shane Matthews. JLo can't be too much worse than any of those three.

Tim Hasselbeck went 9-for-17 for 85 yards and an interception Friday against the Jets.

Starting for injured Eli Manning, Hasselbeck did not look very impressive. He's currently the favorite to win the No. 2 QB job, but didn't help his cause by throwing an interception and losing two fumbles -- one for a Jets TD.

Tim Hasselbeck will start for the Giants Friday and play the first three quarters.

New York is getting Hasselbeck as ready as possible to start if Eli Manning can't get ready for week one. We'll be watching this performance closely.

Tim Hasselbeck will be New York's backup quarterback next season.

There will be no competition with Jesse Palmer, who should fill the number three role. ''The last thing we're going to worry about with Eli Manning with his family background is that he needs a mentor,'' Giants GM Ernie Accorsi said.

Giants claimed QB Tim Hasselbeck, formerly of Washington, off waivers.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. New York now have actually upgraded their backup QB situation after losing Jim Miller to a torn hip labrum. Hasselbeck will battle Jesse Palmer for the No. 2 role, while Miller is a candidate to be released.

The Washington Redskins released QB Tim Hasselbeck on Wednesday.

Hasselbeck can now find a spot as a reserve QB someplace else, possibly in Seattle where his brother Matt is the starting QB. This Hasselbeck has no fantasy value.

The Redskins have allowed QB Tim Hasselbeck to seek a trade.

A release looks more likely to us in time. The drafting of Jason Campbell left Hasselbeck the No. 4 quarterback in Washington.

Tim Hasselbeck is likely to be released or traded following the drafting of Jason Campbell.

Hasselbeck will have no problem getting a job, possibly as the backup to his brother in Seattle.

Redskins re-signed restricted free agent Tim Hasselbeck to a one-year, $656,000 contract.

There were various reports of interest around the league for Hasselbeck, but he never signed an offer sheet. He's a decent bet to get a backup next season, but will remain No. 3 on the depth chart in 2005.

Tim Hasselbeck, a restricted free agent, is reportedly putting off a few team visits this week because of the impending birth of his child.

Purely speculation, but Chicago and Seattle are teams looking for backups. It could be a Hasselbeck party in Seattle if they made an aggressive offer.

Tim Hasselbeck continues to outplay the two Washington QBs ahead of him on the depth chart.

He's still a longshot to win the starting job, but coach Joe Gibbs has been duly impressed. "I've been bragging on him all along," Gibbs said yesterday. "I like Tim. He's smart. He's made some good decisions." Gibbs has a history of using little-known QBs off his bench, but this would be a shocker.
