Jordan Wilkins did not touch the ball in Week 6.
Even as Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines both made major miscues and Robert Turbin left with a potentially severe shoulder injury, Wilkins was not used by the coaching staff. Wilkins is safe to drop in 12-team season-long leagues. Oct 14 - 5:31 PM

Date:

Jordan Wilkins rushed six times for 39 yards in the Colts' Week 5 loss to the Patriots, adding two receptions for nine additional yards.

Wilkins got out-touched 22-8 by Nyheim Hines. He marred what could have been a promising night with a soft second half fumble as he fought for extra yardage. Regardless of Marlon Mack's health, Wilkins simply has not been able to make it happen behind the Colts' banged up offense line. Mack now has 10 more days to get healthy for Week 6.
Oct 5 - 12:32 AM

Jordan Wilkins rushed eight times for 16 yards in the Colts' Week 4 loss to the Texans.

Wilkins got another start with Marlon Mack injured, but he again did nothing of note. Over the past two weeks, Wilkins has 35 yards on 14 carries. Wilkins wasn't active in the pass game, either, failing to catch his lone target against Houston. Wilkins doesn't belong in fantasy lineups Week 5 at New England.
Sep 30 - 5:55 PM

Jordan Wilkins rushed six times for 19 yards while catching two passes for one yard in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Eagles.

Wilkins started in place of Marlon Mack, but found little room to run as the Eagles dominated on the defensive front. Wilkins now has rushed 30 times for 120 yards with seven catches for 25 yards through three games. He is not a starting-caliber option heading into Week 4 versus the Texans.
Sep 23 - 5:23 PM

Jordan Wilkins tallied 61 yards on 10 carries while collecting two catches for three yards on two targets Sunday in the Colts’ Week 2 win over Washington.

Wilkins left briefly after tweaking his ankle in the second quarter but the injury didn’t seem to bother him in the second half. The fifth-round rookie failed to impress in last week’s debut against Cincinnati (2.9 yards per carry) but he did a nice job of moving the chains in this one. His 18-yard scamper with under five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter essentially sealed the win for Indy. Wilkins out-touched teammate Marlon Mack by a slim 12-11 margin, though he held a decisive edge in yards from scrimmage (64-36). The Colts seem committed to using a timeshare at running back, so we’d expect similar usage for both players next week against the Eagles.
Sep 16 - 5:11 PM

Jordan Wilkins left Sunday's Week 2 game against the Redskins with an ankle injury and is questionable to return.

He went down about midway through the second quarter. Wilkins delivered 25 yards on five carries along with one catch for no gain upon exiting. With Wilkins banged up, Indy's backfield reps will be split between Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines.
Sep 16 - 2:23 PM

Jordan Wilkins rushed 14 times for 40 yards and caught 3-of-3 targets for 21 yards in the Colts' Week 1 loss to the Bengals.

The good news is Wilkins led Indy's backfield with 17 touches compared to Nyheim Hines' 12 and Christine Michael's two. The bad news is the Colts continued to struggle to run block, and Wilkins struggled for effiency on his opportunities. Marlon Mack (hamstring) could also return as soon as Week 2, which would further muddy up the running back distribution. At best, Wilkins will be a low-end flex option at Washington in the second game.
Sep 9 - 4:45 PM

Jordan Wilkins will be the Colts' starting running back in Week 1.

He'll face a Bengals run defense that is missing WLB Vontaze Burfict (hamstring) but remains largely stout up front. Of more concern for Wilkins' fantasy outlook is his RBBC with Christine Michael and Nyheim Hines. New Colts coach Frank Reich was a committee-backfield proponent during his time in Philadelphia.
Sep 9 - 12:02 PM

According to ESPN Colts reporter Mike Wells, fifth-round RB Jordan Wilkins is the "frontrunner" to start if Marlon Mack (hamstring) is unable to play against the Bengals in Week 1.

Mack is still working back from a hamstring injury and looks questionable at best for next week's opener. With Robert Turbin suspended and fellow rookie Nyheim Hines coming off a hellish preseason, Wilkins figures to get the first crack at leading Indy's backfield. The NC State alum didn't find much daylight as a ball-carrier this summer (2.8 yards per carry on 27 rushing attempts), but was effective as a pass-catcher, nabbing all five of his targets for 57 yards during the preseason. None of the Colts running backs make for great fantasy options, but if you have to choose one for next week, Wilkins would seem to be the safest bet.

Sep 2 - 11:38 AM

Jordan Wilkins rushed 14 times for 28 yards in the Colts' third preseason game.

Wilkins led the Colts in carries in this one but continued his preseason struggle as a rookie. Wilkins and Christine Michael are likely to open the season in some sort of a timeshare in the Colts' backfield with Marlon Mack (shoulder) still out. We're not particularly excited about either runner here.
Aug 25 - 7:29 PM

Colts fifth-round RB Jordan Wilkins received first-team reps in Thursday's practice.

The Colts are rotating backs while Marlon Mack is sidelined, but it is still notable any time a fifth-round pick receives first-team reps in his rookie camp. Wilkins previously ran with the first team in minicamp, and has been drawing praise going back to rookie OTAs. He's a name to file away in the final rounds of fantasy drafts.
Aug 16 - 3:43 PM

The Indianapolis Star reports fifth-round RB Jordan Wilkins has been excelling in Colts camp "since the pads went on."

Reporter Stephen Holder believes Wilkins is "going to give coaches lots to contemplate if he continues to have the same kind of production in preseason games." Committed to a committee, the Colts' backfield roles are wide open.
Aug 2 - 3:38 PM

1070 The Fan's Kevin Bowen believes Colts fifth-round rookie Jordan Wilkins is "in the mix" for the starting running back job.

Bowen reports Marlon Mack has spent the most time with the first-team offense, but each of the top five backs on the depth chart has gotten at least a few reps with the starting unit. Under new coach Frank Reich, the Colts are fully expected to use a committee approach in the backfield, but Wilkins could still return value in all formats if he wins the early-down job. He is a good late-round flier.
Jul 31 - 10:46 AM

Fifth-round RB Jordan Wilkins has mixed in with the Colts' first-team offense at minicamp.

And he's getting reps with Andrew Luck, who returned to practice on Tuesday and is doing more on Wednesday. Beat writer George Bremer noted Wilkins caught a deep wheel route from Luck. Robert Turbin has gotten most of the first-team running back reps, but the Colts know what he brings to the table. Marlon Mack is rehabbing from shoulder surgery. Wilkins is a late-round fantasy sleeper.
Jun 13 - 1:47 PM

Colts selected Ole Miss RB Jordan Wilkins with the No. 169 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

Wilkins (6’1/216) emerged as the leader of Ole Miss’ backfield committee as a senior, amassing an explosive 155/1,011/6.5/9 rushing line with 26/241/1 receiving. PFF College gave Wilkins its fourth-highest pass-blocking grade in this running back class. Wilkins unfortunately bombed the Combine after suffering a hamstring injury, but he bounced back with a 4.53 forty, a 37-inch vertical, and a 10-foot-3 broad jump at his Pro Day. Wilkins is more of a finesse back despite his size and is old for a prospect (24 in July), but his versatility gives him some appeal as a swiss-army-knife type contributor who can play special teams.
