Seahawks agreed to terms with DT Ryan Sims.

The 31-year-old was released by the Bucs in October of last season after recording just three tackles in six games. He shouldn't be guaranteed a roster spot in Seattle.

Buccaneers waived DT Ryan Sims.

Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune suggests the surprising play of rookie Al Woods was behind the move. The 30-year-old Sims recorded just four tackles in six games this season.

Veteran DT Ryan Sims won't be released by the Bucs, according to Profootballtalk.com.

There was talk that both Chris Hovan and Sims would be dumped after the Bucs drafted Gerald McCoy and Brian Price, but it looks like Sims will be spared for the time being. Sims started all 16 games for the Bucs last season, picking up just 33 tackles and a sack. His snaps will deservedly be way down as Tampa's No. 4 tackle this year behind McCoy, Price, and Roy Miller.

Bucs re-signed DT Ryan Sims to a four-year, $8 million contract. The deal includes a $3.25 million signing bonus.

At 6'4/315, Sims has enough size to play in new DC Jim Bates' scheme, but the former top-ten pick isn't productive and is known for being "on the ground too much." The Bucs were gashed by the run in Sims' spot starts last year. He'll likely remain a rotating wave player under the aggressive Bates.

Per the NFLPA's official website, Ryan Sims' contract no longer extends through 2009. He is currently signed through 2008.

His base '07 pay is a meager yet deserved $595,000. Sims likely agreed to redo his deal so he could be traded rather than cut. The Bucs may have added undisclosed incentives to the former No. 6 pick overall's contract.

Buccaneers acquired DT Ryan Sims from the Chiefs in exchange for an undisclosed future draft choice.

Sims, the No. 6 pick in the 2002 NFL Draft, has been a colossal bust, so it's nice on Kansas City's part to get anything for him whatsoever. He'll try to resurrect his career and acquire a "motor" in Monte Kiffin's defense.

The Chiefs are expected to release DT Ryan Sims this offseason.

The No. 6 overall pick in 2002, Sims has been an obvious flop. Kansas City is likely to draft a first-day tackle in April or find one in free agency. Sims could get a one-year deal from a team interested in him as a reclamation project; the odds of him getting starter money are nill.

Chiefs DT Ryan Sims drew the ire of defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham in minicamp.

The disappointing former No. 6 overall pick showed up overweight and was "demoted" to the second-team defense, although his demotion could very well stick. Some feel Sims can be Cunningham's next reclamation project i.e. Kawika Mitchell.

DT Ryan Sims has worked with the second-team defense at minicamp.

The former 2002 sixth-overall pick's career thus far has been a disappointment and he reported overweight. Undrafted D-II rookie Steve Williams of Northwest Missouri State worked as a starter in place of Sims.

Coach Dick Vermeil said yesterday that he doesn't expect DT Ryan Sims (foot) to play Sunday.

"If we were short a defensive lineman, I think we would suit him up and let him get some work," Vermeil said. "We’ll talk about it between now and Sunday, but I think it’s doubtful we’ll do that."
