The Rams worked out free agent DL Jimmy Wilkerson Thursday, but did not offer a contract.
It's the first we've heard of Wilkerson since he spent 2011 on injured reserve. It's quite possible the 31-year-old, eight-year veteran has played his final snap. Thu, Oct 11, 2012 03:42:00 PM

Seahawks placed DE Jimmy Wilkerson (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Wilkerson's knee injury must have been more than just a sprain. Wilkerson missed just one game the past four seasons, but was relegated to a reserve pass-rushing role with the Saints last year. Four months shy of his 31st birthday, it's not a guarantee he'll be in the NFL in 2012.

Seahawks DE Jimmy Wilkerson suffered a sprained knee in Friday's preseason finale.

He'll undergo an MRI this afternoon. It's poor timing for Wilkerson on final cut day. If the injury is at all significant, he could be heading to injured reserve.

Seahawks signed DE Jimmy Wilkerson to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Wilkerson had 16 tackles and two sacks last year as a backup. His ability to play both defensive tackle and end at 6'2/270 is his greatest strength.

Free agent DE Jimmy Wilkerson will visit with the Seahawks on Friday.

Wilkerson was a strict reserve for the Saints last season after signing a one-year, $2 million deal. He has the versatility to be a rotational contributor in Seattle.

Saints signed DL Jimmy Wilkerson to a one-year, $2 million contract.

Wilkerson, 29, offers versatility as a swing-type tackle/end and is coming off a career year (6 sacks, 13 QB pressures), but tore his ACL in December and isn't sure to be ready by Week 1. Once healthy, he'll compete for snaps off the bench with LE Alex Brown and nickel pass rusher Bobby McCray.

The Seahawks will reportedly host free agent DE Jimmy Wilkerson beginning Wednesday night.

Assuming he makes it out of New Orleans, where Wilkerson will be Monday night and into Tuesday. With Wilkerson's market appearing to finally get legs, it sounds like he's showing good recovery from his late-season ACL tear.

The Saints will host free agent DE Jimmy Wilkerson next week.

Wilkerson is coming off a career year, but turns 29 before the season and is coming off a torn ACL. The Saints may only make him a minimum-level offer.

Free agent DE Jimmy Wilkerson (torn ACL) expects to be cleared to play by August.

Wilkerson took a visit with the Rams and last week and the team's doctors were reportedly impressed with how well his rehab is going. Still, Wilkerson didn't have his surgery until mid January making it unlikely he'll truly be 100 percent by camp. He left St. Louis without a contract.

The Rams are "finalizing plans" to host DE Jimmy Wilkerson on Friday.

Wilkerson can't be counted on as a starter after undergoing surgery on his torn ACL in January. He won't pass a physical, either, so the Rams are probably just doing due diligence for a potential signing down the line.

Free agent DE Jimmy Wilkerson underwent ACL surgery in mid January.

The injury may increase the Bucs' chances of keeping Wilkerson after a career season. The sides have already held contract talks, but Wilkerson may have to accept a backup role. The Bucs want last year's fourth-rounder Kyle Moore to take his spot in the lineup in 2010.

Bucs placed LE Jimmy Wilkerson on injured reserve with a torn ACL, ending his season.

Wilkerson was in the midst of a career year (46 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles), but the ACL tear is going to crush his stock on the 2010 free agent market. He'll likely only be viewed as a backup "swing" player that may have to begin the year on PUP while coming off reconstructive surgery.

Bucs DE Jimmy Wilkerson left Sunday's win over the Saints in the first quarter with a knee sprain and did not return.

Wilkerson is scheduled for more testing Monday. He has a career-high six sacks and 46 tackles on the season.
Mon, Dec 28, 2009 12:07:00 PM

Bucs DE Jimmy Wilkerson had three sacks, six tackles, two quarterback hits, one tackle for a loss and a forced fumble in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.

Now that's filling up the stat sheet. Wilkerson now has five sacks on the season, his first as a full-time player after seeing spot duty during five years with the Chiefs.

The Bucs have named Jimmy Wilkerson their starting left defensive end, opposite Gaines Adams.

A special teamer for five years in Kansas City before joining the Bucs last season, Wilkerson recorded five sacks at both tackle and end last season. Though he's slimmed down to 265 pounds, he may still be replaced by Stylez G. White on passing downs.
