Peyton Manning is pushing for the Broncos to re-sign free agent Brandon Stokley.
37-year-old Stokley visited the Titans in late March, but has otherwise generated little free-agent interest. "Hope it's not necessarily a close-door discussion," Manning said of Stokley's status with Denver. "In a perfect world I'd like both (Stokley and Wes Welker) to be on the team this year." Stokley could return to compete with Andre Caldwell for No. 4 receiver duties. Apr 15 - 3:49 PM

Free agent Brandon Stokley is visiting the Titans on Tuesday.

It's Stokley's first visit of free agency. Stokely would be a veteran option in the slot, but isn't more than a pair of sure hands at this point in his career. His playing days appeared over before Peyton Manning came calling. If Stokley did end up in Tennessee, it would likely be for the league minimum.

Free agent Brandon Stokley, 37 in June, hopes to continue his playing career.

The Wes Welker signing has rendered Stokley irrelevant in Denver. "We play pretty much the same position, so it doesn’t look good for me," acknowledged Stokley. "But you never know in this league what can happen. ... My plan right now, is just to stay in shape and see if anything pops open and comes available."

Free agent Brandon Stokley said his agent and the Broncos have "talked some."

Even though Stokley caught 45 passes and five touchdowns last season, he knows he's not a priority for the Broncos right now. He'll be 37 in June and won't attract anything more than a minimum offer. The Broncos can safely wait for free agency to play out before deciding if they want to bring back Stokley.

Impending free agent Brandon Stokley is "not sure" what his NFL future holds, but hopes to be back in Denver for another season.

"I definitely would still love to play," said Stokley. "I still love to compete and I feel this is the only thing that I do halfway good, so why stop now?" Although Stokley turns 37 in June, another one-year contract makes plenty of sense. He had a fine comeback season as Peyton Manning's reliable slot receiver and a key red-zone weapon.
Jan 14 - 8:42 AM

Brandon Stokley caught three passes for 27 yards and a touchdown in Denver's Divisional Round loss to the Ravens.

Stokley's first-quarter touchdown was a thing of beauty, as he walled off Ravens CB Corey Graham in the corner of the end-zone for a 15-yard score. He made just two catches for 12 yards thereafter, however, and was invisible even as the Broncos adopted a dump-off approach in the passing game. Each of Stokley's 45 catches and 544 yards this season were his most since 2008, but 37 in June, it's quite possible he won't be re-signed.
Jan 12 - 10:12 PM

Brandon Stokley caught three passes for 49 yards in Denver's Week 17 win over the Chiefs.

Peyton Manning's ageless safety valve finishes the year with a 45/544/5 line. Although they're remarkable numbers for a 36-year-old wideout who had been left for dead, Stokley wore down as the season progressed, and found himself a smaller part of the Broncos offense as Eric Decker came on. Stokley will get a much-deserved run at the Super Bowl this postseason, but it's possible he's played his final regular-season game.

Brandon Stokley was added to Thursday's injury report with a quad issue, but practiced in full.

Perhaps Stokley experienced some mid-practice soreness, but he should be good to go for Sunday's finale. Peyton Manning's safety valve is Rotoworld's No. 66 receiver for Week 17.

Brandon Stokley caught five passes for 32 yards in Denver's Week 16 win over the Browns.

The five-catch effort was Stokley's first since Week 3. Although the 36-year-old slot receiver has been a reliable safety valve for pal Peyton Manning, Stokley is probably less than 50-50 to be back with the Broncos in 2013.

Brandon Stokley caught one pass for 14 yards in the Broncos' Week 15 win over the Ravens.

The Broncos didn't need their slot machine as they ran out to a 31-3 lead and ran two-wide sets as a base. Stokley ended up with just two targets.

Brandon Stokley (wrist) is absent from the Week 15 injury report.

Peyton Manning's elderly slot machine suited up through a "questionable" tag in Week 14, but didn't draw a single target. He'll be a poor WR3 option in PPR leagues for the second week of the fantasy playoffs.

Brandon Stokley (wrist) was active for Week 14 but didn't see a single target in the win.

Stokley saw his occasional work in three-wide sets, so it's not like he didn't play. Matt Willis and Andre Caldwell were sprinkled in, but Caldwell's snaps were mainly due to Demaryius Thomas' second-quarter absence. Stokley is an unreliable, low-upside WR4/5.

Brandon Stokley (wrist) is active for Thursday night's game versus the Raiders.

Stokley was a true game-time decision. His presence puts a hurt on the fantasy potential of Jacob Tamme, who saw a season-high 13 targets working the slot with Stokley out last week. Rotoworld's Chris Wesseling has dropped Tamme from No. 11 to No. 16 in the Week 14 ranks following Stokley's activation. Denver declared WLB Wesley Woodyard (ankle), CB Tracy Porter, TE Julius Thomas, RB/FB Jacob Hester, RG Chris Kuper, DT Sealver Siliga, and QB Caleb Hanie inactive.

According to the Denver Post, it "appears" Brandon Stokley (hip, wrist) will not play in Thursday's game against the Raiders.

However, he's officially "questionable." Meanwhile, coach John Fox told Sirius XM NFL Radio that he is expecting to have his slot receiver available Thursday. This has the look of a true game-time call, with Jacob Tamme filling in at the slot if Stokley gets scratched.

Brandon Stokley (wrist, hip) was limited in Tuesday's practice.

Stokley participated in three limited practices last week before being scratched, so this doesn't tell us much. Coach John Fox did tell Sirius XM NFL Radio that Stokley is likely to be active for Thursday's game at Oakland.
