Ex-Colts WR Marvin Harrison was involved in a shooting incident Saturday morning in Philadelphia (PA).
According to the police report, Harrison was flagged down by a 38-year-old man who was fleeing the scene of a burglary in his Wynnefield Heights apartment at 3:20 a.m. Harrison allowed the man to climb into the bed of his pickup, at which point the suspects fired twice in their direction. No one was injured, but a bullet apparently hit one of Harrison’s tires. It's not the first time Harrison has been linked to an off-field incident since his retirement, though he doesn't appear to have any direct ties to this one. Harrison was connected to two Philadelphia shootings from 2008-2009, but was never charged. Jun 14 - 2:48 PM

Ex-Colts WR Marvin Harrison failed to earn a first-ballot Hall of Fame selection on Saturday.

The selection committee essentially chose veteran HOF candidate Andre Reed instead. We don't necessarily have a problem with Reed getting in, but Harrison was more deserving. Whereas Reed made seven Pro Bowl teams but earned zero All-Pro berths across 16 NFL seasons, Harrison went to Honolulu eight times and was a three-time All Pro as a 13-year player. In their primes, there's no question Harrison was a more dominant wideout. Reed was a compiler. Harrison should at very worst be a second-ballot HOFer.

According to Profootballtalk.com, Philadelphia police are "going hard" after Marvin Harrison following his Wednesday traffic stop where a 9mm handgun was confiscated.

Police have already determined that one of Harrison's guns was involved in an April 2008 shooting, and possibly a followup shooting. Howard Eskin of 610 WIP in Philadelphia tells PFT that police now plan to "pursue aggressively" any link between the ex-Colts star and the two incidents. "I'm told police thought they had him before," Eskin said. "Now police will take this one to the wall."

The FBI has reportedly joined the Philadelphia police department's investigation into Marvin Harrison's role in the shooting death of a convicted drug dealer last summer.

Before he lapsed into a coma, the victim told police on the scene that he believed the shooting was related to an April, 2008 assault by Harrison in the same neighborhood. Tests show that Harrison's gun was used in the homicide, though Harrison denies pulling the trigger. Esquire.com released a lengthy, eye-opening article Thursday detailing Harrison's role in the events.

Colts GM Bill Polian won't consider signing free agent Marvin Harrison even if Anthony Gonzalez's knee injury keeps him out longer than a month.

Austin Collie will likely remain in the slot with Pierre Garcon replacing Gonzalez out wide. Look for the Colts to run a lot of two-tight end sets as Dallas Clark becomes the No. 2 target behind Reggie Wayne.

The Titans still have no interest in free agent Marvin Harrison, even after Nate Washington's hamstring injury.

Despite reports to the contrary, Jeff Fisher has been adamant that the team has no interest in the veteran. The Titans have also been linked to Matt Jones, but they've never publicly expressed an interest.

Coach Jeff Fisher flatly denied an ESPN report that the Titans were pursuing free agent Marvin Harrison.

"We've had no contact whatsoever with Marvin or his agent, and to be quite honest with you I don't know where Adam Schefter got that information," he said. Asked if the Titans might change their minds, Fisher replied "No."

Former Colts coach Tony Dungy says he "would encourage" close friend Lovie Smith of the Bears to sign free agent Marvin Harrison.

"Marvin can play the game," Dungy insisted. "Marvin can get open and catch the ball. I think he definitely can play and I would encourage Lovie to sign him if they had that opening." The Bears don't seem to be in any hurry to replace Earl Bennett, despite not making much noise in the preseason opener.

The Titans are not pursuing free agent Marvin Harrison, according to the Nashville Tennessean.

We said as much Monday night, after ESPN reported otherwise. Harrison wouldn't have anywhere to play in Tennessee. Nate Washington, Justin Gage, and Kenny Britt are locked in as the team's 1-3 receivers and Harrison doesn't play special teams. The Jets and Ravens would be better fits.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Titans have "reached out" to free agent Marvin Harrison.

It isn't a good fit. The Titans are pretty well set with Nate Washington and Justin Gage in the starting lineup, and Kenny Britt in the third receiver role. Tennessee might've been interested before Britt's breakout over the weekend. Now, we doubt they'd offer more than a minimum salary, if that.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell said the team has no interest in bringing back former Pro Bowl WR Marvin Harrison.

Harrison was released in February and has since drawn more publicity for alleged criminal conduct than football rumors. He's the greatest receiver in the history of the franchise, but the Colts aren't even considering giving him a flier.

A second man is now alleging that free agent receiver Marvin Harrison shot him during a shootout in Philadelphia last year.

Robert Nixon, 33, claims he was caught in the crossfire when Harrison shot at Dwight Dixon on April 29, 2008. The new suit alleges "assault, battery negligence, and reckless misconduct." The emerging accusations against Harrison may be affecting his market value. He's getting next to no interest.

Dwight Dixon, shot seven times and critically wounded on Tuesday, believes Marvin Harrison hired the shooter.

Dixon made the accusation before he slipped into a coma, so police "won't know what made him say that until he wakes up." Harrison had motive since Dixon had filed a civil suit against him arising from an April 2008 shooting. Police don't yet consider Harrison a suspect, but that could change once Dixon comes out of the coma.

Free agent Marvin Harrison is being sued in civil court by a man alleging he was shot by the former Colts receiver last year.

Alleging physical and psychological damage, Robert Nixon is seeking "well over $100,000." Nixon claims the bullet is still in his back and continues to cause him "extreme discomfort." The case never made it to legal court.

After speaking with personnel people around the league, NFL Network's Jason La Canfora says he gets the sense that the prevailing thought is free agent Marvin Harrison is "done".

La Canfora hears "no buzz" about Harrison, and says Amani Toomer and Joe Horn are higher on most teams' "emergency" lists, which is a very bad sign for Marvin. It still seems likely that he'll find work before the season opener.
