ESPN's Ed Werder reports ex-Colts C Jeff Saturday has "no interest" in un-retiring to sign with the Broncos after C Dan Koppen was lost for the season.
Saturday is one of Peyton Manning's most notable former teammates, but is all the way down to the 230-240 pound range, and appeared done with the Packers last year. He was benched during a playoff push. Saturday wouldn't have been a realistic option in Denver even if he were interested in giving football another go. Mon, Jul 29, 2013 09:53:00 AM

Jeff Saturday is expected to sign a one-day contract in Indianapolis so he can retire as a Colt.

Peyton Manning's center spent 13 seasons with the Colts, starting 188 games, going to five Pro Bowls and winning one Super Bowl. Saturday announced his retirement last month after one failed season in Green Bay.

Packers released C Jeff Saturday.

It's a procedural move after Saturday retired in late January. Saturday played 14 seasons in the NFL, 13 with the Indianapolis Colts. He earned two All-Pro nods and was a six-time Pro Bowler. Saturday is not a likely HOF candidate.

Packers C Jeff Saturday announced his retirement from the NFL.

"We'll finish it with sunsets in Hawaii and call it a much better career than I would have anticipated," said Saturday, a former undrafted free agent out of North Carolina. Saturday, 37, ends a 14-year career, 13 spent with the Colts. He unfortunately finished on a down note, grading as the worst center in the NFC North by division scouts. Saturday made six Pro Bowl trips and was a two-time first-team All-Pro selection. He isn't a realistic Hall of Fame candidate, but he certainly deserves a spot in the Colts' Ring of Honor.

Packers C Jeff Saturday is expected to retire.

Saturday signed a two-year deal last offseason and started the first 14 games before he was benched in favor of Evan Dietrich-Smith. The 37-year-old was pushed around in the run game. Even if he doesn't hang up the cleats, Saturday is fully unexpected back in Green Bay. His 2013 scheduled pay calls for $1.35 million in salary, a $1.4 million roster bonus, and $1 million in per-game roster bonuses.

The Packers have benched C Jeff Saturday in favor of Evan Dietrich-Smith.

This may be the end of the line for Saturday, who turned 37 in June and is owed nearly $4 million in 2013 salary and bonuses. The Packers had not been pleased with his run blocking. As NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal has noted, Saturday currently leads all NFL offensive linemen in Pro Bowl voting, which strongly reinforces the notion that Pro Bowl voting is a complete sham.

Jeff Saturday is taking every first-team rep at center, as expected.

The Packers are set at all five positions along their offensive line. Saturday brings veteran leadership to a unit that returns its four other starters. On paper, it's perhaps the best offensive line in the entire league.

Packers agreed to terms with C Jeff Saturday, formerly of the Colts.

Saturday is choosing the best chance at a ring over a reunion with Peyton Manning. The Broncos will move forward with J.D. Walton while the Titans may have to take a look at former Eagles center Jamaal Jackson. By way of Pro Football Focus' ratings, Saturday and the man he's replacing, Scott Wells, were both top-five NFL centers in 2011. The 37-year-old Saturday was easily the best interior lineman left on the market.

Reportedly interested in signing free agents C Jeff Saturday and TE Jacob Tamme, the Broncos are being held up by stiff competition from other teams.

According to NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora the Seahawks are "very intent" on signing Tamme after losing John Carlson to the Vikings. With strong interest from the Packers and Titans, Saturday is weighing all three options rather than simply following Peyton Manning to Denver.

Free agent C Jeff Saturday won't visit the Broncos until Friday.

Saturday has little incentive to rush his potential reunion with Peyton Manning since it could only hurt his negotiating position. He'll visit the Packers and Titans before heading to Denver. The Broncos remain Saturday's most likely landing spot, but any time a player takes a visit, there's a chance he won't leave.

The player rep for free agent C Jeff Saturday says he will visit the Broncos after completing visits with Green Bay and Tennessee.

Saturday stayed overnight in Green Bay on Monday, and will visit the Titans on Tuesday. If he makes it out of both cities without a contract, he'll head to Denver, where he'll presumably be given the hard-sell by long-time teammate Peyton Manning. The Broncos are the heavy favorites for Saturday's services.

The Packers are currently hosting free agent C Jeff Saturday at their club headquarters.

Saturday is scheduled to visit the Titans next. While it's believed Saturday may ultimately end up reuniting with Peyton Manning in Denver, he's shopping his wares first. Unlike Brandon Stokley, Saturday probably won't settle for the NFL minimum. The 37-year-old (in June) is still playing at a high level.

Free agent C Jeff Saturday will visit the Broncos, according to NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora.

Rev up the caravan of ex-Colts. In addition to Saturday, LaCanfora reports free agent slot receiver and Denver local Brandon Stokley will likely be signed. It certainly would be no surprise if Dallas Clark and Joseph Addai followed the group West.

Free agent C Jeff Saturday was reportedly scheduled to visit the Packers and Titans before Peyton Manning agreed to join the Broncos on Monday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen report that all three teams Manning had been talking with have considered adding Saturday. Manning did not "mandate" the addition of Saturday, but it would no doubt increase his comfort level with the team. It's worth noting that Pro Football Focus graded Denver's J.D. Walton as the NFL's worst center in 2011. Saturday was No. 5.

NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora reports free agent C Jeff Saturday could end up in a package deal with Peyton Manning.

The Titans have a gaping hole at center, but the other three teams in the Manning derby are already set at the pivot. As we saw with Reggie Wayne, the "package deal" speculation is overblown as a factor in signings.
