The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel expects the Packers' "first order of business" this offseason to be finding pass rushers.
Dom Capers got no backfield penetration from the right end rotation of Howard Green, C.J. Wilson, Jarius Wynn, and Mike Neal or the right outside linebacker rotation of Erik Walden, Frank Zombo, and Brad Jones. Green and Walden will likely be allowed to walk as free agents. Safety and cornerback are also areas of need. Thu, Jan 26, 2012 10:11:00 PM

The Packers expect DL Howard Green to return next season, softening the blow of Cullen Jenkins' departure via free agency.

Though he was released for the 12th time during the 2010 season, Green was starting for Green Bay by the playoffs. He's under contract for one more year at $765,000, offering depth up front along with C.J. Wilson and Jarius Wynn. The Packers could also be getting wild cards Justin Harrell and Johnny Jolly back for one more season.

Packers NT Howard Green has moved into the starting lineup the past two games against the Falcons and Bears.

After Green weighed in at 375 pounds, he was cut by the Jets in October for the 12th time by his 10th different team. He's now "down" to 350. Coordinator Dom Capers has essentially gone with three nose tackles up front in his 3-4 scheme, allowing the linebackers and safeties to roam free.

Packers claimed NT Howard Green off waivers from the Jets.

The Packers have carried just one true nose tackle (starter B.J. Raji) all season, so the 31-year-old veteran Green finally gives them some depth.

Redskins signed NT Howard Green to a one-year contract.

The Skins are stockpiling wide bodies as they move to a 3-4 scheme. Green, who goes 6-foot-2 and 320 pounds, turned 31 in January. He dressed for 12 games with the Jets last season and recorded 23 tackles with no sacks.

The Redskins are hosting free agent DT Howard Green on Wednesday.

Green, 31, has experience playing nose in a 3-4 defense like the one the Skins are installing, but is backup-caliber. Washington is making contingency plans in case a taker for Albert Haynesworth is found on draft weekend.

Jets signed DT Howard Green to a one-year contract.

Green, who spent last year buried as a reserve in Seattle, will likely push Sione Pouha to be Kris Jenkins' backup on the nose. Green offers good size (6'2/320) and knows the scheme after a stint with Rex Ryan in Baltimore.
