The Cowboys' official website confirms that Kris Brown will battle David Buehler for field-goal duties in training camp.

Brown was signed because the Cowboys believe Buehler needs competition after missing 8-of-32 field goal attempts last season. Owner Jerry Jones is a Buehler fan, so Brown will have to out-kick him decisively to win the job.

Cowboys signed K Kris Brown.

The Cowboys website expects David Buehler to continue to handle all kicking chores in Week 17. Brown was signed to carry over to the offseason, ostensibly to provide competition for Buehler in 2011.

The Lions worked out free agent K Kris Brown on Wednesday.

Dave Rayner, filling in for Jason Hanson, has made just 6-of-9 field goals in five games. Brown worked out for the Redskins earlier in the week.

The Redskins worked out free agent kickers Kris Brown, Nick Novak, and Chris Gould on Tuesday.

Coach Mike Shanahan seems willing to stick with a struggling Graham Gano. The Redskins are trying out kickers due to Gano's rib injury, which may keep him out of this week's game at Dallas.

The Jets will work out free agent K Kris Brown Tuesday.

Nick Folk has made just 22-of-30 field goal attempts this season and has missed five attempts over the last three weeks alone. It's no guarantee that Brown will be signed, but either way, Folk has officially been put on notice.

Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson expects the team to "at least make an inquiry" about free agent K Kris Brown this week.

Aaron Pettrey, signed to replace Mike Nugent two weeks ago, has misses of 43 and 27 yards in his first two games. Signing Brown wouldn't help the Bengals' chances in the Andrew Luck derby, though.

Chargers waived K Kris Brown.

The Bolts' emergency third QB Monday night, Brown drilled 4-of-5 field goals and all eight extra point attempts in three games as Nate Keading's replacement.

Kris Brown (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Titans.

Brown is ready to go despite a questionable tag. He's a fine fantasy play with Nate Kaeding (groin) still out.

Chargers K Kris Brown (ankle) participated in walk-throughs and will kick Sunday in Week 8.

The team did not sign another kicker, so Brown will hold down the fort for at least one more week. He's our No. 9 ranked kicker against the Titans.

Chargers K Kris Brown (ankle) was limited in Thursday's practice.

The Bolts haven't brought in another kicker, so Brown doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of missing this week's game. Nate Keading (groin) isn't expected back until at least next week.

Kris Brown is expected to be the Chargers' kicker for at least one more week, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Nate Kaeding (groin) admitted that his injury is "a bit concerning." Brown went 2-for-3 on Sunday, making two short kicks but missing a 50-yard game-tying attempt at the tail end of regulation.

Chargers signed K Kris Brown, formerly of the Texans.

Nate Kaeding is out indefinitely with a groin injury, so Brown will kick field goals and extra points in the meantime. The 33-year-old beat out fellow tryout kickers Shayne Graham and Shaun Suisham in early-week practices.

The Saints opted not to immediately sign Kris Brown or John Carney after the free agents worked out on Tuesday.

Carney makes sense in a similar arrangement to the start of last season. Brown, however, has experience with the same late-game hiccups that are currently plaguing Garrett Hartley. Brown isn't nearly as accurate as Hartley, either.

In addition to John Carney, the Saints will host free agent Kris Brown for a kicker tryout on Tuesday.

Coach Sean Payton isn't sold yet on the idea of giving up on Garrett Hartley, but the Saints have to do their due diligence at the very least. Brown, 33, just barely lost out to Neil Rackers for the job in Houston during camp.
