Paackers ILB Brandon Chillar will reportedly show to training camp with a potentially season-threatening hamstring injury.

More and more reports like this will emerge as training camps pick up. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel confirms that the injury "could put his season in jeopardy." The Packers will examine Chillar's leg when he gets into camp.

Packers ILB Brandon Chillar will seek a second opinion on his shoulder and surgery is not necessarily a guarantee.

Chillar said all year that he'd try to play through the injury and then get it surgically repaired in the offseason, but he wants to exhaust all other options before going under the knife. "It's really a credit to him on how he fought through week in and week out to get back out on the field and he finally just couldn't do it anymore," coach Mike McCarthy said.

Packers placed LB Brandon Chillar (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Chillar had been dealing with a shoulder injury going back to late September, and he aggravated it in last week's game at Atlanta. Subbing in as a nickel backer, Chillar totaled 18 tackles in eight games this season. He's due back in Green Bay at $2 million in 2011.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy has ruled out LBs Brandon Chillar (shoulder) and Spencer Havner (hamstring) for Week 13.

Given that McCarthy has ruled them out so soon, you get the feeling both could possibly be out multiple weeks. Chillar has been dealing with a shoulder problem for much of the season, and it's hampered his effectiveness. His loss will be felt more than that of Havner, who plays mostly on special teams.

Packers LB Brandon Chillar aggravated his right shoulder injury while making a tackle on a kickoff in Sunday's loss to the Falcons.

Chillar's arm got caught behind him. "The classic thing you don't want to do when you have what I have," Chillar said. He had been subbing for Desmond Bishop in nickel situations.

Chillar sounds like a man that will play this weekend after sitting out the previous three games. "I think it was a smart decision to take that extra week," he said. "I feel good, and that’s mainly because I didn’t play last week."

Packers LB Brandon Chillar (shoulder) will miss a second straight game this week.

With Nick Barnett (wrist) also out, depth is becoming a major issue at linebacker. AJ Hawk came down with an interception while filling in last week, but the Packers also allowed 335 yards to Shaun Hill, including 14 receptions and 154 yards to tight ends. It's a nice matchup for Chris Cooley this week.

Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers hopes to have Brandon Chillar (shoulder) available for Week 5.

Chillar sat out in Week 4 and was barely able to lift up his arm to put his shirt on. Capers said the linebacker is able to lift his arm now, though. Chillar has had other shoulder problems in the past, so hopefully this won't be a lingering injury.

AJ Hawk is expected to get the first shot to replace Chillar as the nickel backer. Desmond Bishop could also see increased action.

Packers LB Brandon Chillar has been ruled out for Week 4 against Detroit.

Chillar typically serves as Green Bay's nickel linebacker, but AJ Hawk, the starting LILB in base packages, will get a chance to prove he's a three-down linebacker after losing nickel duties earlier in the season. Desmond Bishop could replace Hawk on third downs if the former Buckeye is not effective.

Chillar had been playing on the outside exclusively lately. He's expected to see playing time at both spots this season, as coach Mike McCarthy notes that "Chillar is obviously versatile to play inside or outside." Chillar's flexibility is nice, but he won't be an IDP factor.

Brandon Chillar is listed as the starting right outside linebacker on the Packers' first depth chart of camp.

This appears to be a response to Brad Jones missing practice time with a back injury. The Packers are going to want Jones' pass-rushing potential in the starting lineup whereas Chillar fits in better as situational player.

The Packers unveiled a new alignment in practice recently that has Brandon Chillar at outside linebacker.

The alignment had Chillar at right outside linebacker and Desmond Bishop at one of the inside spots alongside Nick Barnett, with A.J. Hawk coming off the field. Chillar is one of the team's most versatile players, but the team is shifting bodies around to cope with the loss of OLB Brad Jones. This is likely just a backup plan in case Jones' injury lingers.

Packers signed LB Brandon Chillar to a four-year, $21 million extension with $7 million in guaranteed money.

Chillar was set to become a free agent after the season. He dealt with a broken hand earlier this year but has returned and is rotating with A.J. Hawk on the inside. Hawk will now almost certainly be asked to take a pay cut this offseason. Chillar is much better in coverage, and Hawk hasn't proven enough of an impact player to hold him off in the future.
