Raiders signed QB Cody Pickett.

The Raiders probably need another QB to take reps while JaMarcus Russell holds out. Pickett can also play wideout and cover kicks on special teams.

Texans acquired QB/WR Cody Pickett for a conditional draft pick.

Houston likes mobile quarterbacks and may see if Pickett could make their practice squad. It's likely they will only give up a draft pick if Pickett contributes to the team.

Mike Nolan doesn't think Cody Pickett is a contender for a QB position in San Francisco.

Pickett has been practicing in the slot as a wide receiver. He's willing to play whatever position will help his chances of making the team.

Cody Pickett is working at San Francisco's backup quarterback in minicamps with Trent Dilfer hurt.

When Dilfer returns, the 49ers are going to use Pickett at receiver some.

Cody Pickett completed 1-of-13 passes for 28 yards and an interception in a week ten loss.

Tough spot for the kid. At one point, the Bears had 32 rushing plays versus four pass attempts. The 49ers may turn back to Ken Dorsey if Alex Smith is out again next week.

Coach Mike Nolan indicated yesterday that QB Cody Pickett is likely to start again Sunday.

Asked about his likely starter Nolan said, "Did Cody get hurt?" Like each of the three quarterbacks who started before him this season, Pickett was unable to put together any sort of offensive attack.

Cody Pickett went 12-for-21 for 102 yards and an interception Sunday against the Giants.

It's amazing that between Alex Smith, Ken Dorsey and Cody Pickett, the trio has not thrown a touchdown in 90 passes. LaDainian Tomlinson has thrown three from the running back position. None of these quarterbacks are really worth any fantasy consideration this season.

49ers coach Mike Nolan said Cody Pickett would start again next week unless Alex Smith is healthy.

Ken Dorsey is the other option, but Nolan is likely to stick with Pickett.

Cody Pickett is expected to start at quarterback for the 49ers this week.

Both Ken Dorsey and Alex Smith are doubtful for the game against the Giants. "The guys know him. They like him. They know what he stands for. He has strengths that are different from the other guys," coach Mike Nolan said. Yeah, like special teams. Pickett was the team's fourth quarterback only a few weeks ago, and was waived last year in place of Dorsey.

Cody Pickett is in at quarterback for the 49ers.

He was playing special teams for most of the day. Pickett was the team's fourth quarterback only a few weeks ago. He completed a 10-yard pass on his only attempt and rushed twice for 12 yards in the 49ers victory.

QB Cody Pickett was used at safety on the scout team for a few plays during Thursday's practice.

The Niners use Pickett at receiver during practice as well. "If we have another injury, we may have to park him back there at free safety," coach Mike Nolan said. "I tell you he could do it. You look at him play wide receiver. He's shagging balls. I hate to take him out of the quarterback mix."

Cody Pickett came on in relief of Ken Dorsey today and completed 4-of-10 passes for 55 yards and an interception today.

The only difference between Dorsey and Pickett was the extra INT provided by Pickett.

Cody Pickett has been one of the surprises of 49ers camp to this point.

The seventh-round pick looks like a bargain so far, as the Niners love his height, attitude, and rifle arm. For now, he's behind Ken Dorsey and Brandon Doman on the depth chart.

San Francisco selected Washington QB Cody Pickett with the 217th pick of the NFL Draft.

Pickett is as good a 7th round gamble as you'll find. The 49ers have picked QBs well lately, they have opportunity in the next few years, and Pickett has plenty of talent. He was once projected as a first-day talent and his ability to read defense should keep his job in the NFL.
