Former Lions WR Kevin Johnson is likely to retire.
Johnson injured his Achillies last October. "I'm not going to go to a team, not be able to do what they want me to do and then get cut anyway," he said. "Why? Why do that? I'm not going to try to put a square into a circle." Tue, Jul 18, 2006 09:55:00 AM

WR Kevin Johnson visited the Bucs on Friday.

Johnson missed most of last season with an achilles injury after making 17 grabs for 133 yards in the early going.

Kevin Johnson will miss the rest of the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Scottie Vines was taking starter snaps today with so many injuries in the Detroit wideout crew. Mike Williams will start indefinitely. This is a devastating blow to a 30-year old veteran like Johnson, who was already lacking speed.

Kevin Johnson left today's game with an apparent Achilles injury.

It's early to speculate, but it looked like a season-ending torn Achilles. Scottie Vines and Mike Williams are now the top two healthy wideouts in Detroit.

Kevin Johnson lined up as Detroit's third receiver for the second straight week Saturday.

He caught a 25-yard pass in limited work. We wouldn't touch Johnson in fantasy leagues, but he's dulling Mike Williams' value.

Lions signed Kevin Johnson, formerly of the Ravens, to a one-year contract.

In their effort to determine the slowest receiver in the NFL, Johnson replaces Tai Streets on Detroit's roster. He's no longer a fantasy option, unless injuries occur.

Kevin Johnson will visit with the Chiefs today.

Adding another aging 30+ receiver to the Chiefs doesn't make a lot of sense to us. Johnson will find a team, but his days as a starter should be over.

Ravens released WR Kevin Johnson, as expected.

Johnson's decline has been swift the last two seasons. It's hard to imagine him becoming a fantasy factor again.

Kevin Johnson will opt out of his final year of his contract, making him a free agent.

The Ravens will have new starters, as Travis Taylor is also headed elsewhere. Johnson was disappointing in Baltimore, catching only 35 balls. He would need a perfect situation to be a fantasy factor again. Rumors have him interested in a return to Cleveland.

Kevin Johnson could return to the Browns if released by Baltimore next month.

He left on good terms with the Browns owner, and new Browns GM Phil Savage was a key figure in bringing him to Baltimore. We're just not sure why Cleveland would want an old, mediocre receiver.

The Ravens admitted that Kevin Johnson is basically their No. 3 receiver right now.

He's a "starter", but really only playing in 3 wide receiver sets. Clarence Moore and Travis Taylor are both ahead of him on the depth chart.

Kevin Johnson played less snaps than Clarence Moore on Sunday.

Johnson is still listed as a starter, but he looks like a No. 3 receiver at best right now.
Mon, Nov 1, 2004 11:42:00 AM

Kevin Johnson was held without a catch in week eight.

We didn't expect big things from KJ, but 129 yards in seven games? He may be playing himself out of the starting lineup, if not the league.
Sun, Oct 31, 2004 09:35:00 PM

Kevin Johnson led the Ravens with 32 receiving yards in a 30-10 victory today.

No one involved in the Ravens passing attack outside of Todd Heap should be playing in fantasy leagues.

Ravens WR Kevin Johnson has been added to the injury report with a thigh injury.

Johnson is coming off of a nice pre-season game last week. He could have a great day versus a suspect Browns secondary.
