AZCardinals.com's Darren Urban doesn't believe re-signing free agent ILB Paris Lenon is likely despite ILB Daryl Washington's suspension.
Lenon, 35, started 48 games over the last three seasons for Arizona, but has declined in effectiveness each year. A new coaching staff, age, and diminished skills are among the reasons a reunion is unlikely. Apr 3 - 9:51 PM

AZCardinals.com "wouldn't be surprised" if the Cardinals don't re-sign impending free agent ILB Paris Lenon.

Frankly, it would be far more surprising if Arizona brought Lenon, 35, back than it would be if they let him go. He has been completely man-handled versus the run over the last three seasons, despite starting all 48 games. Arizona needs to find a better player to line up next to stud ILB Daryl Washington.

Cardinals ILB Paris Lenon's $1.9 million 2012 salary has been bumped to $2.4 million by playing-time incentives.

Lenon played an absurd 1,127 snaps during his age-34 campaign last season, more than any other linebacker in the league. He also graded out as one of Pro Football Focus' worst 3-4 inside linebackers in the process, however. If all goes according to plan for the Cardinals, ILB Stewart Bradley will make strides during his second season in the desert, greatly curtailing Lenon's snaps.

Cardinals ILB Paris Lenon was forced from Sunday's game against the Bengals in the first quarter with a wrist injury.

The 34-year-old defensive leader is questionable to return.

Cardinals ILB Paris Lenon left Sunday's game against the Redskins with a right ankle sprain, but later returned.

With Daryl Washington (calf) already out, the Cardinals are in big trouble at inside 'backer. They were down to just Stewart Bradley and Reggie Walker while Tim Hightower is running right over them.

Veteran Paris Lenon managed to hold off Stewart Bradley for the starting job next to Daryl Washington.

The Cardinals point to Lenon's work last season as well as training camp, but it's a nod to his status as team leader as well. He was named defensive captain Thursday. Expected to be the first linebacker off the bench, Bradley will see more snaps than a typical backup.

Cardinals ILB Paris Lenon is questionable to return to Monday night's game after suffering a right knee bruise.

He was replaced by rookie Daryl Washington.

Cardinals LB Paris Lenon is scheduled for an MRI on his injured ankle.

Lenon originally injured the ankle in Week 5 and aggravated it in Week 9. Coach Ken Whisenhunt has expressed concern that Lenon could miss time. If he does, Daryl Washington would fill in for him and wouldn't be a downgrade.

Cardinals defensive coordinator Bill Davis confirmed that the plan is to "find an inside linebacker high in the draft and watch him grow and wait until he eventually beats out Paris [Lenon]."

Everyone knew this was the plan as soon as the Cardinals lost standout "Ted" linebacker Karlos Dansby. Lenon isn't capable of filling Dansby's shoes and is ideally a backup. It shouldn't take too long for a rookie to take the job.

Cardinals agreed to terms with LB Paris Lenon on a three-year contract.

Lenon, 32, would be a massive downgrade from Karlos Dansby if he were to win the starting "Ted" inside linebacker job next to Gerald Hayes. The Cards just need warm bodies at the position, however, and figure to target the need area early on draft day. Lenon is no more than a reserve caliber player.

In addition to QB Derek Anderson, free agent LB Paris Lenon is also visiting the Cardinals Friday.

At this point, the Cardinals need a warm body to put next to Gerald Hayes after losing Karlos Dansby. Lenon could be a fallback option if Larry Foote signs elsewhere.

Rams LB Paris Lenon left Sunday's game with a hip injury and did not return.

Lenon landed awkwardly while trying to make a tackle near the sideline in the second quarter. He had to be helped to the bench and was replaced by Chris Chamberlain.

Rams LB Paris Lenon left Sunday's game in the first quarter with a rib injury but was able to return.

Lenon suffered the injury in the first five minutes of Sunday's contest. The Rams are in trouble against the Saints' dynamic offense.

Rams LB Paris Lenon exited Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with a back injury but was able to return.

Lenon has been starting at weak-side linebacker for the Rams since Will Witherspoon was dealt to Philadelphia. He was worked on by team trainers then sent back out to finish the Rams' Week 8 game against the Lions.
Sun, Nov 1, 2009 03:37:00 PM

Paris Lenon will replace recently traded Will Witherspoon as the Rams' starting weak-side linebacker.

Larry Grant was inserted on the strong side. Lenon turns 32 next month and is barely a replacement-level player while Grant is a practice squad-caliber linebacker. Upgrade Joseph Addai and Donald Brown's Week 7 matchups.
