Former Titans WR Tyrone Calico was arrested early Wednesday on charges of DUI and violation of the "implied consent" law.

He was stopped at 2:30AM for weaving and later freed on bond. The 2003 second-round pick tried out for the Giants in '06, but is likely done in the NFL.

Calico would add a big body to a smallish New York receiving corps after Plaxico Burress. The Dolphins showed interest in him last month.

Titans coach Jeff Fisher acknowledged that WR Tyrone Calico is unlikely to make the team's roster.

"I saw a ball hit him in the face today. You need to catch those balls," Fisher said "It is going to be tough on Ty. He is going to have to make some plays in the preseason games real quick."

Titans coach Jeff Fisher says Tyrone Calico's calf injury isn't "as severe as we thought."

"It could be a little bit of scar tissue from the old injury, which could actually help him," Fisher said. "We'll hold him out this week, but it's not significant." Calico is battling for a roster spot.

The former second-round pick swore in May he's not entering a make-or-break season. The Titans have a deep group of young, talented wide receivers and Calico could easily be pushed off the roster.

He doesn't get it. Calico dropped a few passes at practice Thursday and isn't even guaranteed a roster spot with the youthful depth Tennessee has at the position.

Coach Jeff Fisher has noticed "explosion" in WR Tyrone Calico's step.

"Ty has been a little inconsistent as far as attendance is concerned, but this week he looked good," Fisher said. "It looks like he has a spring back in his step." Calico finished 2005 on IR with a hamstring injury.
