Holt started all 16 games for the Cardinals last year, but couldn't even last a month with the Bears.

Holt takes the place of Zack Bowman, who suffered a season-ending biceps injury in Week 7. Holt has flopped in his starting trials, but he may hold his own in a reserve role.

Panthers signed S Terrence Holt, formerly of the Cardinals.

Holt is only 28 and can lay some wood, but has flopped every time he's been given a chance to start at free safety. The Panthers should add another prospect in the draft. For now, Holt is behind only Nate Salley at the position.

Cardinals released FS Terrence Holt, DL Chris Cooper, and OT Oliver Ross.

The Holt signing last year was bound to flop. Holt was a strong safety trying to play free safety. The Cards needed someone to patrol center field, letting Adrian Wilson stay in the box. Converted CB Antrel Rolle will get that chance in '08. Cooper was a deep reserve. Ross' career might be over.

Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic speculates that FS Terrence Holt could be released in the next month or so.

Holt disappointed in his first season with the Cards, and Arizona will avoid paying him a $1.5 million roster bonus if they cut him before March 1st. The Cards are considering moving Antrel Rolle to free safety, where he would compete with Aaron Francisco for the starting job if Holt is released.

Cardinals signed former Lions FS Terrence Holt to a five-year, $15 million contract. The deal pays $4 million in bonuses.

He'll fill a major void at free safety in Arizona. Holt played next to new Pro Bowl teammate Adrian Wilson when the two were at North Carolina State.

Torry's brother will be replaced by Daniel Bullocks, who struggled in coverage last season when starting a few games in place of an injured Kenoy Kennedy. Holt is physical enough to compete to start for someone.

Fourth-year veteran Terrence Holt held off second-round rookie Daniel Bullocks for the Lions' starting free safety job.

Holt started ten games in 2005 before an elbow injury sidelined him. He entered camp as a backup. "He played very, very well," coach Rod Marinelli said. "We're very excited with how he played. His tackling was better. I'm not saying he's Ronnie Lott. But...he's really improved."

The Lions would not have released Brock Marion if they weren't confident in Holt. He's unlikely to be much of an IDP factor though.
