Cardinals agreed to terms with DE Cory Redding, formerly of the Colts, on a two-year, $6 million contract.
The Cardinals got Redding and Corey Peters for the price of what would have been one Darnell Dockett and immensely helped their depth in the process. Redding, 34, is still playing at a high level; he registered 3.5 sacks across 757 snaps last season while consistently causing disruption on running and passing downs for the Colts. He'll also be a veteran locker room presence in the desert. Mar 11 - 2:27 PM

Date:

Free agent DE Cory Redding will visit the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Per the Arizona Republic, the sides are already "close" to an agreement. Redding had been on the fence about playing in 2015, but this is a sign he will as long as the money is right. The Cardinals have already signed Corey Peters and LaMarr Woodley, but can still afford to add front-seven talent. Redding notched 3.5 sacks on 757 snaps for the Colts last season, earning a positive pass-rush grade from Pro Football Focus.

Free agent Cory Redding isn't sure if he'll play in 2015.

Redding is coming off a strong 2014, and the Colts need defensive line help after cutting Ricky Jean-Francois. But Redding has already played longer than he expected, saying his original goal was a ten-year career (last season was his 12th). An entrepreneur and philanthropist off the field, it's possible Redding decides to hang up his cleats. If he does return, the Colts would be thrilled to have him back.

Colts LE Cory Redding was forced from Indianapolis' Week 11 game against the Patriots with a hip injury, and will not return.

Redding had to be helped off the field in the fourth quarter. He notched two tackles before departing. Redding miss time with a knee injury earlier this season.

Colts LE Cory Redding (knee) has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Browns.

The Indy defense is severely banged up. Also ruled out are DTs Fili Moala (knee) and Martin Tevaseu (ankle), OLB Robert Mathis (knee), and CB Darius Butler (shoulder). Inside linebacker Pat Angerer (foot) is listed as questionable. Trent Richardson could have a field day against the league's No. 29 rush defense.

Colts LE Cory Redding (knee) missed the entire second half of Sunday's loss to the Jets.

Redding briefly returned after going down in the first quarter, but was gone for good after halftime. His presence was dearly missed as the Jets' previously moribund rushing attack rolled up 252 yards. It's good news Redding was able to play through the injury for even a few snaps, but his Week 7 status is very much up in the air.

Colts LE Cory Redding left Sunday's Week 6 game against the Jets with a right knee injury.

Redding's return is questionable. The Colts' defense is getting absolutely gashed while playing without Robert Mathis, Redding and Pat Angerer.

Colts LE Cory Redding (knee) insisted he'll be ready for Week 1.

Redding is rehabbing a mild MCL sprain. "I'm good, man," he said. "Fans don't need to worry. No. 90 will be on the field in Chicago." As one of the few Colts with 3-4 experience, Redding is a key part of setting the edge against the run.

Colts LE Cory Redding has been diagnosed with a "mild" MCL sprain, and could be out a "week or so."

Redding will likely miss the Colts' final two preseason games, but should be ready for Week 1. Brought in to help anchor new coach Chuck Pagano's 3-4 defense, Redding is coming off a strong 2011, where he notched 43 tackles and 4.5 sacks despite playing just 511 snaps in Baltimore. He's a run-stopping left end.

Colts signed DE Cory Redding, formerly of the Ravens, to a three-year, $10.5 million contract.

Competent both against the run and as a pass rusher, Redding will be reuniting with his former defensive boss Chuck Pagano in Indy. He graded out as one of the league's top ends by Pro Football Focus in 2011, and will fit nicely into the Colts' 3-4 defense. His signing is another sign Dwight Freeney has played his final snap for the "Horseshoe."

Free agent DE Cory Redding is reportedly visiting the Colts on Tuesday.

A rotational lineman in Baltimore, Redding would be following Chuck Pagano to Indianapolis if he's signed. At 6'4/300, he boasts prototypical 3-4 end size for the Colts new defense.

Both Adam Caplan of The Sideline View and the Indianapolis Star's Mike Chappell suggested Sunday that the Colts may pursue free agent DE Cory Redding and LB Jarrett Johnson when the market opens on Tuesday.

Caplan and Chappell's tweets were nearly identical, and both cited Chuck Pagano's background with Johnson and Redding. Redding and Johnson are both over 30 years old, but would be big helps in transitioning Indy's defense from a 4-3 to 3-4. The Colts would soon have to find younger replacements.

Ravens DE Cory Redding (concussion) has been fully cleared for Week 5.

Redding was quietly one of the Ravens' top run stoppers to open the year, so his return makes a struggling Knowshon Moreno's matchup that much more difficult. Redding's return comes at the right time with Paul Kruger battling a severe MCL injury. Kruger isn't going to be available against Denver.

Ravens DE Cory Redding has not passed his concussion tests and is not expected to play in Week 4.

A bust in Seattle the past few seasons, Redding appeared to be turning his career around with impressive run defense in the first three games. His absence gives Rashard Mendenhall owners more reason to feel comfortable.

Ravens DE Cory Redding left Sunday's game in the third quarter due to a concussion.

It's not clear at this point how severe it is, but obviously Week 4, at least, would seem to be in doubt. Check back for updates on his condition.
