The Nashville Tennessean tabbed LB Brian Orakpo as one of the keys to Thursday's game between Tennessee and Jacksonville.
Orakpo will face off with Jaguars T Luke Joeckel as he attempts to continue his solid pass rushing contributions. The Titans LB has four sacks over his last three games and is a valuable member of the Tennessee D/ST that has 27 sacks in 2015. The Titans D/ST will be a top-10 fantasy option in Week 11 as they travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars, who have allowed 28 sacks in nine games. Nov 19 - 1:45 AM

The Tennessee Titans will face the Carolina Panthers and their league-leading rushing attack in Week 10.

The Carolina offense averages 142.3 rushing yards per game and is led by the bruising duo of Cam Newton and Jonathan Stewart. Tennessee has been mediocre against the run in 2015 slotting 17th among NFL defenses in run defense, but has given up just 117 total rushing yards over the last two weeks. The Titans D/ST will face a stiff test on Sunday and will be just outside the top-12 fantasy options in the matchup with Carolina.
Nov 13 - 2:58 AM

The Tennessee defense could be without cornerback Jason McCourty on Sunday, who is dealing with a groin injury.

Anything less than a fully healthy secondary will be an issue for the Titans as they travel to New Orleans to face Drew Brees, who threw for 505 yards and seven touchdowns in Week 8. The Titans D/ST will not be an advisable fantasy start this week on the road against the Saints.
Nov 7 - 3:15 AM

The Tennessee Titans will be facing a committee of Houston running backs when they take on the Texans without RB Arian Foster.

Foster is out for the season with an Achilles' injury, leaving Alfred Blue, Chris Polk, and Jonathan Grimes to handle the rushing duties for Houston. "When I saw them earlier, without Foster, they played all three of their backs and they’re all quality NFL backs. I think there’s only one Foster. But I don’t think you can sleep on any of them, to be honest with you. And I expect them to use all three of them," said Titans assistant coach Dick LeBeau. The Titans D/ST will be a startable Week 8 fantasy option on the road against the Texans.
Oct 31 - 4:05 PM

The top-ranked pass defense of the Tennessee Titans will face Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7.

The Titans lead the NFL, allowing just 184 passing yards per game so far this season. Ryan and the Falcons will certainly provide a challenge for Tennessee, as Julio Jones has carried the Atlanta passing game to an average of 277.3 yards per game, good for eighth among NFL offenses. While the Titans D/ST has been a decent fantasy option so far in 2015, they will be just outside of the Week 7 top-12 as they face the Falcons offense and dynamic running back Devonta Freeman.
Oct 23 - 4:45 AM

The Tennessee Titans will face the Miami Dolphins in Week 6, who rank 28th among NFL teams with an average of 314.8 total yards per game this season.

The Dolphins are coming off a bye and will look to get their offense rolling under new coach Dan Campbell. The Titans are the top NFL team in terms of pass defense in 2015, allowing a mere 166.5 yards per game through the air. Miami QB Ryan Tannehill, who is completing a horrendous 56.7 percent of his passes on the year, will likely have a hard time moving the ball, making the Titans D/ST a top-10 fantasy option in Week 6.
Oct 17 - 5:52 PM

With LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Karlos Williams (concussion) ruled out for Week 5, the Tennessee Titans will face running backs Anthony Dixon and Dan Herron on Sunday.

Tennessee hasn't been great against the run so far in 2015, allowing 4.3 yards per carry to opposing rushers, but will catch a break with Buffalo's top two running backs out this week. The Buffalo running game is sixth in the NFL with 128.3 rushing yards per game through four weeks, so the Titans will look to slow this attack as it plays without its top weapons. The Titans will be a top-12 fantasy option this week at home against the Bills.
Oct 10 - 1:09 AM

The Tennessee Titans will enjoy their bye week in Week 4, with the DC Ray Horton's group having success against opposing quarterbacks through the first three weeks.

The Titans have had surprising success against the pass in 2015, allowing just 194.7 yards per game through the air, good for fifth best in the NFL. The Tennessee defense has also allowed the lowest opponent completion percentage this season, giving up completions on just 53.8 percent of opposing pass attempts. A home date with Tyrod Taylor and the Buffalo Bills is on the schedule for the Titans D/ST after the bye.
Oct 2 - 11:10 PM

The Tennessee Titans will host Andrew Luck and the struggling Indianapolis Colts offense in Week 3.

Indianapolis leads the NFL in turnovers through two weeks, handing out five interceptions and three fumbles to begin the 2015 season. The Colts are also averaging just 323.5 total yards per game, 83.1 yards per game less than their 2014 average. While the matchup looks good on paper, the Titans D/ST will be a middling fantasy option in Week 3 as the fantasy world awaits the awakening of Andrew Luck.
Sep 26 - 10:23 PM

The Tennessee Titans will face Cleveland quarterback Johnny Manziel on the road in Week 2.

Manziel tossed one interception and lost two fumbles in Week 1 after taking over for the injured Josh McCown, so the potential for turnover production from the Titans defense is present this week. Fantasy owners without top Week 2 D/ST options can look to stream the Tennessee defense in anticipation of this matchup. After beginning the season facing Jameis Winston and Johnny Manziel, Andrew Luck visits Tennessee in Week 3 and will present much more fierce opposition.
Sep 19 - 3:11 AM

Tennessee LB Brian Orakpo recently discussed the team's desire to apply pressure to rookie quarterback Jameis Winston in Week 1.

Orakpo told the Nashville Tennessean, "...Other teams have had some success, so we have to see what works to actually get to him. Hopefully we can emulate that come our game and have some success getting him down." Winston was sacked seven times during the preseason and pressure from the Titans defense would be key in disrupting the young quarterback. The Titans D/ST is a mid-range Week 1 fantasy option.
Sep 10 - 4:03 AM

The Nashville Tennessean highlighted creating turnovers as a key for the Titans defense as the 2015 season approaches.

Creating turnovers is critical for any NFL defense, but the Tennessean notes that the Titans had a minus-10 turnover differential last season, good for fifth-worst in the NFL. Tennessee created a turnover in all four preseason games and will look to continue taking the ball from opposing offenses in Week 1 when they face rookie quarterback Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Sep 5 - 2:56 AM

The Titans first-team defense gave up 17 points to the Kansas City offense over their first three possessions on Saturday.

The Titans allowed Alex Smith to connect with his two favorite targets as both Jeremy Maclin and Travis Kelce hauled in touchdown catches early in the game. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said, "We knew it would be tough coming in here and I think we just made too many mistakes early." The Titans D/ST can be avoided in fantasy drafts and despite facing a rookie quarterback in Jameis Winston, will not be recommended for use in Week 1 as the Titans travel to Tampa Bay.
