Seahawks placed LG Ben Hamilton (concussion) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Hamilton has a long history of concussions, so he was looking at a multi-week absence at the very least. The eight-year veteran was a one-year contract, and he may be at a career crossroads in 2011. The NFC West leading Seahawks will need veteran Chester Pitts to step in at left guard.

Seahawks LG Ben Hamilton suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Raiders.

The severity is unknown, but Hamilton has a long history of concussions, so this could be a season-threatening situation. Tyler Polumbus is also dealing with a leg injury and Russell Okung (high ankle sprain) was out, so offensive line health is a concern for the Seahawks heading into Week 9.

Seahawks signed OG Ben Hamilton to a one-year contract.

Hamilton didn't fit the power-blocking scheme being installed by Josh McDaniels in Denver. He'll now be reunited with zone-blocking guru Alex Gibbs, replacing Mike Gibson at left guard opposite Max Unger. With the interior settled, left tackle is now the glaring weak spot on the line.

Free agent OG Ben Hamilton has a visit scheduled with the Seahawks.

Not big enough to play in Josh McDaniels' power-blocking scheme, Hamilton quickly fell out of favor last season. He'd be a much better fit in the Seahawks zone-blocking attack.

Broncos LG Ben Hamilton is not expected back with the team in 2010.

Hamilton is an unrestricted free agent who was benched during the season in favor of Russ Hochstein. Perhaps Mike Shanahan will want to bring Hamilton, who will be 33 next season, to Washington as depth for their decimated offensive line.

Broncos LG Ben Hamilton has lost his starting job to Russ Hochstein.

Hamilton has been a starter since 2002, but the 290-pounder isn't as good a fit for Denver's new power scheme as he was in Mike Shanahan's old zone system. He's also in a contract year. Hochstein is a career reserve.

Broncos declared LG Ben Hamilton, CB Alphonso Smith, QB Tom Brandstater, LB Spencer Larsen, DT Chris Baker, OT Brandon Gorin, WR Brandon Lloyd, and OLB Jarvis Moss inactive for Week 4 against the Cowboys.

Ross Hochstein, who started in place of right guard Chris Kuper in Week 2, will fill in for Hamilton. The Broncos offensive line should continue its dominance regardless.

Beat writer Mike Klis suggests that the Broncos' preseason struggles in the running game are a result of their shift from zone blocking to a power-based system.

The line is a complete transplant from last year and is learning to block differently. Denver ranks 23rd in yards-per-carry average, with Darius Walker (105 yards, 4.2 YPC) leading the way. Knowshon Moreno's return won't hurt.

According to the Rocky Mountain News, G Ben Hamilton (concussion) will not play in Week 1.

Hamilton's streak of 80 straight starts will come to an end. "The specialist in Pittsburgh recommended that he not do anything for two weeks, to just stay away from any type of conditioning," coach Mike Shanahan said. "So that's where we're at right now. He's not going to do anything for two weeks, and at the end of two weeks, we'll evaluate him again."
