Titans hired free agent DL Nick Eason as assistant defensive line coach.
Eason, 34 in May, was out of the league this past season after appearing in all 16 games and making nine tackles in 2012 with the Cardinals. The former fourth-round pick of the Broncos registered 128 tackles and seven sacks as a reserve across ten seasons with the Broncos, Browns, Steelers, and Cardinals. Jan 31 - 10:18 AM

Cardinals DL Nick Eason has dropped 40 pounds to 282 after taking up boxing and changing his diet this offseason.

"I realized that I could probably help myself and extend my career if I lost a little weight," Eason said. The difference is huge. I feel a lot quicker now. I have a lot more endurance." The 32-year-old graded out poorly as a run defender in 2011, according to Pro Football Focus.

Cardinals agreed to terms with DE Nick Eason on a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old Eason has ties to new Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton from their time together in Pittsburgh. Beat writer Kent Somers confirms that this signing was made strictly for depth. Eason knows the zone-blitz schemes Horton learned from Dick LeBeau, but he wouldn't be effective in a big role.

The Steelers believe DE Nick Eason (MCL sprain) has a chance to play at Baltimore in Week 13.

Chris Hoke filled in for Eason, but things are finally look up at defensive end for the Steelers. Brett Keisel (hamstring, calf) will be a full participant in Wednesday's practice, with an eye on returning to face the Ravens.

Steelers DE Nick Eason left Sunday's game against the Bills with a sprained MCL in his left knee and did not return.

The hits keep coming for the Steelers' defensive line, which is already playing without Aaron Smith (triceps) and Brett Keisel (calf). Chris Hoke stepped in for Eason yesterday.

Nick Eason has been told that he'll start in place of Brett Keisel (hamstring) this week at right defensive end.

The Steelers feel more comfortable with the eight-year veteran than 2009 first-rounder Ziggy Hood. Eason is a fine backup, but it doesn't say much for Hood's progress as a potential impact player up front.

Steelers DL Nick Eason has missed the last two weeks of OTAs after undergoing emergency surgery to remove his appendix and part of his colon.

Eason, who couldn't eat for nine days following surgery, is expected to be "close to full strength" for training camp after losing 28 pounds. With Travis Kirschke retiring, Eason is the most experienced backup on the Steelers' defensive line behind the ageless Chris Hoke.

Steelers agreed to terms with DL Nick Eason on a one-year contract.

Eason visited with former Steelers assistant Ken Whisenhunt and the Cardinals before re-signing. He started five games in place of an injured Aaron Smith last season. Purely a rotational player, Eason and Ziggy Hood could see added time this year with Travis Kirschke set to retire.

The Cardinals will host free agent DL Nick Eason and OL Wade Smith on Monday night and into tomorrow.

Smith has already met with Buffalo and Houston, while this is Eason's first visit. Eason, who can play nose tackle and defensive end in the 3-4 in a backup capacity, is familiar with Arizona's staff from their Steelers days.
