Jason Witten caught 4-of-6 passes for 36 yards in the Cowboys' Week 12 loss to the Panthers.
His most notable contribution was getting targeted on two of Tony Romo's three interceptions. With Matt Cassel back under center following Romo's clavicle aggravation, "dad runner" Witten will finish out the season as a very low-ceiling fantasy option. Nov 26 - 8:25 PM

Jason Witten caught 2-of-3 targets for 27 yards in Dallas' Week 11 win over the Dolphins.

With Tony Romo back in action, Witten surprisingly had his second quietest day of the season. Witten no longer has much of a ceiling, but will almost always provide 4-6 catches. He'll be a low-end TE1 for Dallas' Thanksgiving showdown with the Panthers.
Nov 22 - 5:22 PM

Jason Witten caught 5-of-5 targets for 42 yards in Dallas' Week 10 loss to the Bucs.

Witten can catch five passes in his sleep, but that's about all he was doing with Matt Cassel under center. With Tony Romo coming back for Week 11, Witten will be more in the TE8-10 range than 10-14 he's been under Cassel.
Nov 15 - 4:59 PM

Jason Witten caught 6-of-8 targets for 43 yards in Week 9 against the Eagles.

Witten lost underneath work to Cole Beasley, who led Dallas with 11 targets. He's been a low-ceiling option all season with just two touchdowns. Witten's on pace for an 88/606/4 line through eight games.
Nov 9 - 1:44 AM

Jason Witten soaked up two of his four targets for 16 yards in the Cowboys' Week 8 loss to the Seahawks.

On a day when Matt Cassel threw for just 97 yards, Witten never had much of a chance. The Cowboys have to be counting down the days until Tony Romo’s return. Witten has actually been pretty consistent this year. He’s finished between 55 and 75 yards in five of his seven outings. The Cowboys host the Eagles in Week 9.
Nov 1 - 9:16 PM

Jason Witten caught 6-of-8 targets for 73 yards in the Cowboys' Week 7 loss to the Giants.

The yards were a season high for Witten, who has now caught at least five passes in 5-of-6 games despite playing with three different quarterbacks. Witten's ceiling is much lower than it used to be, but his floor remains that of a TE1.
Oct 25 - 7:49 PM

Jason Witten caught 5-of-6 targets for 33 yards in Dallas' Week 5 loss to the Patriots.

Witten's biggest impact came in the fourth quarter, where he lost a fumble. Witten is pretty much a weekly lock for five catches, but his upside is all but vanished without Tony Romo at quarterback. He's a caretaker TE1.
Oct 11 - 8:12 PM

ESPN Dallas expects the Patriots to gameplan against Jason Witten.

The Patriots view Witten as a bigger threat than Terrance Williams. New England wants to force Brandon Weeden to make throws on the outside, where he’s less accurate. The Saints used Brandon Browner on Witten last week and doubled him in the red-zone, limiting him to 57 yards on six targets. Witten is a mid-range TE1 for Week 5, but is more of a low-ceiling option.
Oct 10 - 5:54 PM

Jason Witten caught 4-of-6 targets for 57 yards in Week 4 against the Saints.

The Cowboys failed to take advantage of a Saints defense that's struggled to cover tight ends. Witten's six targets were behind only Terrance Williams (10), but he didn't get any red-zone looks. Through four weeks, Witten is on pace for a 100/952/8 line. Witten is locked in as a TE1 for Week 5.
Oct 5 - 1:28 AM

Jason Witten (ankles, knee) is practicing in full for Week 4.

It confirms he didn't have any setbacks last week. Witten is a top-five option against a Saints defense that's allowed the second most points to tight ends.
Sep 30 - 5:04 PM

Jason Witten caught 6-of-8 targets for 65 yards in the Cowboys' Week 3 loss to Falcons.

It's a solid game considering Witten played through two sprained ankles and a sprained knee. He lost targets to Lance Dunbar on check downs, but remains the top red-zone option in the Cowboys offense. Witten is locked in as a TE1 for Week 4.
Sep 27 - 5:50 PM

Jason Witten (ankles, knee) is probable for Week 3 against the Falcons.

It's going to take a lot more than two sprained ankles and a sprained knee to keep Witten from playing. The iron man hasn't missed a game since 2006. With three injuries and Brandon Weeden at quarterback, Witten will be a shaky fantasy play in Week 3.
Sep 25 - 3:16 PM

Jason Witten (ankles, knee) was a "limited" participant in Thursday's practice, but is "confident" he'll play Sunday against the Falcons.

Witten is majorly banged up, but hasn't missed a game since 2006. Even with the Cowboys going extra run heavy in the absence of Tony Romo, Witten will be a TE1 if he takes the field.
Sep 24 - 4:56 PM

Jason Witten (ankles, knee) is at practice on Thursday.

Witten has not missed a game since 2006 and is not going to let pesky sprains to both ankles and a knee break that streak. He will be a low-end TE1 against the Falcons.
Sep 24 - 12:36 PM

Jason Witten (ankles, knee) said the swelling has gone down and he'll be "fine" for Week 3 against the Falcons.

Witten practiced on Wednesday despite nursing sprained ankles and a sprained knee. A true iron man, Witten hasn't missed a game since 2006, and isn't about to start now. He'll on the TE1 map as Brandon Weeden's safety blanket.
