The Arizona defense will face 49ers QB Blaine Gabbert in Week 12 when they travel to San Francisco.
Gabbert has done a reasonable job at quarterback since taking over for Colin Kaepernick, but the San Francisco offense has averaged just 312 total yards and 15 points per game with Gabbert under center. The Cardinals D/ST has allowed 73 total points over the last two weeks but will be a top Week 12 fantasy option due to the advantageous matchup. Nov 27 - 3:05 AM

The Arizona Cardinals will host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, who registered their worst offensive performance of the season in Week 10.

The Bengals managed just two field goals in Week 10, to go with season-lows in passing, rushing, and total yards. The Arizona defense is tied for first among NFL teams in interceptions in 2015, and will look to take advantage of Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton, who completed just 22 of 38 passes in Week 10 with no touchdowns and one interception. The Cardinals D/ST will be a top-10 fantasy option in Week 11 at home.
Nov 22 - 3:35 AM

Fox Sports Arizona lists the ability to "slow down Jimmy Graham" as a key to Week 10 for the Arizona defense.

Arizona has been solid against the pass in 2015 and is tied for the NFL lead in interceptions with 13. Graham leads Seattle in all major receiving categories, so keeping the big tight end in check would be a big win for the Cardinals in this important NFC West matchup. The Cardinals D/ST is a top-10 option in Week 10 on the road against Seattle, who ranks 19th among NFL teams in total yards per game.
Nov 14 - 2:13 AM

The Arizona defense is tied for the NFL lead in interceptions, picking off 13 passes through eight games.

The Cardinals are on bye in Week 9, but will look to continue their ball hawking ways in Week 10 when they visit Seattle. Fantasy owners should give strong consideration to keeping the Cardinals D/ST through the bye week, as the group has chipped in solid fantasy contributions through creating turnovers.
Nov 5 - 1:31 AM

The Arizona defense will be without CB Jerraud Powers (hamstring) on Sunday, giving CB Justin Bethel his first career start.

The Arizona D/ST will still be a top Week 8 fantasy option despite a new starting corner back opposite Patrick Peterson. The Cardinals are seventh among NFL teams in pass defense, allowing 223.7 yards per game and have a nice matchup this week against Cleveland quarterback Josh McCown, who is nursing an injured shoulder.
Oct 30 - 1:59 AM

The Arizona D/ST will look to bounce back from a disappointing effort in Week 6 when they host the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.

The Cardinals coughed up 168 yards and two scores on 12 attempts to Pittsburgh third-string quarterback Landry Jones last week, in a tough performance for a defensive group that has largely been a fantasy force this season. Despite the setback, the Arizona D/ST can be trusted as a top-five option on Monday night against Baltimore and Joe Flacco, who has thrown seven interceptions this season.
Oct 24 - 3:40 PM

The Arizona defense will get linebacker Dwight Freeney involved in Week 6 after signing the veteran this week.

The Cardinals D/ST has been a productive group in fantasy leagues this season despite being tied for 24th in the NFL with eight sacks through five weeks. Freeney will help give Arizona a boost in the pass rush department and is further reason to safely start the Cardinals D/ST in fantasy leagues this week when they face Michael Vick and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Oct 17 - 5:38 PM

The Arizona Republic credits DE Calais Campbell and CB Patrick Peterson with contributing to the early success of the Cardinals defense.

"End Calais Campbell has dominated games. Cornerback Patrick Peterson struggled in the first month of last season, but not this year. Peterson has played well, and the Rams barely challenged him last Sunday," said Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. The Cardinals D/ST has been a top fantasy performer through four weeks and the group is second in the NFL in interceptions this season. Facing the Detroit Lions in Week 5, the Cardinals D/ST will be a top-flight option once again.
Oct 8 - 4:10 AM

The Arizona Republic believes the Cardinals' defensive line will have success in Week 4 against the St. Louis Rams.

Kent Somers previewed this NFC West matchup and suggested that, "their line should be able to get more pressure against an offensive line that has two rookies starting." The Cardinals have recorded six sacks on the season, tied for 12th among NFL teams. DC James Bettcher's group will look to get to Nick Foles on Sunday, who was sacked twice in Week 3 by Pittsburgh. St. Louis is dead last in the NFL in offensive yardage, making the Arizona D/ST a top-tier Week 4 fantasy option.
Oct 2 - 10:49 PM

Arizona safety Deone Bucannon is the key player for the Cardinals in their Week 3 matchup with San Francisco, per the Arizona Republic.

San Francisco has run for 341 yards through two weeks, which means Bucannon and his run-stopping ability will be crucial on Sunday. Bucannon is listed as a safety but often lines up at inside linebacker for DC James Bettcher's defense. The versatile defender has 11 tackles on the young season and will look to continue his solid play against the 49ers. The Cardinals D/ST is a back-end top-12 unit in fantasy leagues this week.
Sep 26 - 10:09 PM

The Arizona Republic noted the potential for Matt Forte to have success in the receiving game against the Cardinals D/ST.

The running backs of the New Orleans Saints finished with 13 catches for 149 yards against Arizona in Week 1, and Matt Forte's excellent pass catching skills will present another challenge for the Cardinals in Week 2. Coach Bruce Arians said of the issue, "Until you put the fire out, that’s all you’re going to see. We have to do a better job of securing that area this week and putting out the fire." The Cardinals D/ST is a mid-range fantasy option in Week 2 on the road at Chicago.
Sep 18 - 2:19 AM

The Arizona Republic noted safety Tyrann Mathieu as the key player in Arizona's Week 1 matchup against New Orleans.

Mathieu reportedly looked solid during the offseason and is fully recovered from a knee injury he sustained in 2013. A strong secondary performance would go a long way in helping the Cardinals to a Week 1 win and will be important as the Arizona D/ST looks to get off to a fast start in fantasy leagues. Arizona is a solid season-long option but faces a tough test against Drew Brees and company.
Sep 11 - 10:50 PM

DE Matt Shaughnessy was the biggest name cut by the Arizona Cardinals over the weekend.

Shaughnessy played the previous two seasons with the Cardinals but was a casualty during roster cuts. Arizona will save $1.45 million with the move, and will count on second-year undrafted defensive lineman Josh Mauro to fill Shaughnessy's role. The Arizona D/ST is a solid fantasy option this season and open up the 2015 season at home against the New Orleans Saints.
Sep 6 - 2:59 PM

Cardinals intern LB coach Jen Welter called her time with the team "a complete win."

The NFL’s first female coach will see her training camp internship come to an end but said, "The biggest question coming in was would guys in the NFL respond to a woman coaching them, and the obvious answer is yes." Welter worked with the Arizona inside linebackers this summer under defensive coordinator James Bettcher. Arizona’s D/ST unit is currently the sixth group off the board in fantasy drafts.
