Ex-Falcons RB Warrick Dunn is buying into the franchise's ownership as a minority partner.
Dunn's ownership share was unanimously approved by the NFL and will be completed before March 1. Dunn has been a rumored pickup by several teams this season (often with the Eagles), but his ownership in the Falcons seals his retirement. In his 12-year career Dunn became just the seventh player to record 10,000 yards rushing and 4,000 yards receiving. Thu, Dec 17, 2009 03:02:00 PM

The player rep for Warrick Dunn recently admitted that the Eagles' interest in his client was prior to training camp.

Since camp started, the Eagles have found out that Brian Westbrook's return is on schedule and LeSean McCoy is ready to contribute right away. They also like Eldra Buckley, grabbed off waivers from the Chargers. The Warrick Dunn ship has sailed.
Thu, Aug 20, 2009 03:06:00 PM's Steve Wyche reports that the Seahawks and Eagles have "reached out" to free agent Warrick Dunn.

Both teams would make sense for the 34-year-old, who's played almost his entire career in a West Coast offense. Dunn's best shot at carries would be in Seattle. He'd be third string in Philly, bumping Lorenzo Booker off the roster. However, Wyche says the talks "have been nothing more than exploratory."

According to the USA Today, Eagles coach Andy Reid "won't rule out" adding a veteran like free agent RB Warrick Dunn.

Dunn was released by the Bucs in February. The Eagles would likely only pursue Dunn if Brian Westbrook's ankle is worse than they are letting on. They're happy with rookie LeSean McCoy and he'll most likely be Westbrook's handcuff.

Buccaneers released RB Warrick Dunn, LB Derrick Brooks, WR Joey Galloway, WR Ike Hilliard, and LB Cato June.

New GM Mark Dominik is not messing around. The moves clear $12.45 million in cap room, bringing Tampa's net salary cap space to roughly $60M. The names will be startling for Bucs fans, but June is the only surprise. Dunn, Brooks, and Galloway's salaries exceeded their production at this stage of their careers. Dunn looked reborn last season (1,116 total yards), and his great character should help get him interest on the market as a third-down back.

Warrick Dunn ran for 37 yards on 10 carries and caught two passes for four yards as the Bucs lost to Oakland in Week 17.

A year that began so promising for Dunn ended on a sour note, as he gained just 220 yards on 63 carries (3.5 YPC) with no TDs in his last five games. He is due $3 million in 2009 and turns 34 in early January. Dunn should enter next season as no more than a clear backup and third-down specialist.

Warrick Dunn rushed nine times for just 20 yards and added four catches for 19 yards against the Chargers in Week 16.

Dunn was bottled up at the line of scrimmage and once again split carries almost equally with Cadillac Williams. He's been turned into little more than a third down back, so it's tough to count on him against the Raiders in Week 17.

Warrick Dunn rushed 12 times for 40 yards and added seven receptions for 50 yards against the Falcons in Week 15.

Dunn was outcarried by Cadillac Williams 14-to-12 and was often used in a straight third-down role. His seven receptions saved his fantasy day, but Caddy's presence on early downs as well as the red zone limits his value. Dunn became just the sixth player in NFL history with 10,000 rushing yards and 500 receptions. He's more of a flex option as opposed to a RB2 next week against San Diego.

Warrick Dunn rushed 10 times for 49 yards and caught three passes for 13 yards in Week 14.

The good news: Dunn averaged over 3.5 yards per carry for only the second time in his last five games. The bad news: Dunn had his fewest rush attempts in a full game since Week 3. Though the Bucs went away from the running game late, Dunn only had a 13-10 edge over Cadillac Williams in overall touches and also had two drops. Dunn remains likely to get around 15 touches against the Falcons in Week 15.

Warrick Dunn is no longer on the Bucs' Week 14 injury report.

Dunn will start against Carolina's overrated run defense and doesn't figure to lose much action to Cadillac Williams. The Bucs can take control of the NFC South with a win and are unlikely to bank heavily on a back that returned from the PUP list just over a month ago. Dunn should get 22-25 touches.

Warrick Dunn (back) was limited in Bucs practice Wednesday.

Dunn is coming off a 22-carry effort against the Saints. He lost a TD to Cadillac Williams in the game, but remains the best bet for 20-touch workloads in Tampa going forward. Dunn is on track to start against Carolina.

Warrick Dunn rushed 22 times for 74 yards in Week 13 against the Saints.

Dunn tied a season high with 22 carries, but failed to catch a pass for the first time in 11 games despite totaling nine receptions over the past two weeks. Cadillac Williams has shown some signs of becoming a bigger part of the offense, but Dunn can still be counted on for at least 15-20 touches each week.

Coach Jon Gruden confirmed Monday that Warrick Dunn will remain the Bucs' featured ball carrier for the rest of the season.

Dunn generated 127 yards and a score on 19 touches in Week 12. Cadillac Williams got carries late in the game, but Gruden says "We want to put the ball in our best player's hands" when referring to Dunn. Dunn will be a solid RB2 play and borderline RB1 in points-per-reception leagues even in difficult matchups going forward. He should see 20-25 touches per week.

Warrick Dunn totaled 90 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries and caught five passes for 37 yards in Week 12 against the Lions.

Dunn spun away from a tackler on beautiful 13-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and racked up 125 yards through three quarters before taking a seat with the Bucs up big. With Earnest Graham done for the season and Cadillac Williams still a question mark Dunn can be counted on as a RB2 option.

Warrick Dunn (back, probable) practiced in full on Friday.

Dunn should be in fantasy lineups as a strong RB2 at Detroit.
