Bills released LB Bryan Scott.

Working against Scott was a coaching regime change and $940,000 base salary, nearly double the cost of UDFAs like Keith Pough. Pough now stands a solid chance of making the final 53. Scott is a safety-linebacker hybrid.

Bills re-signed LB Bryan Scott to a one-year contract.

Scott broke the news on his Twitter account. The safety-turned-nickel linebacker stuffed the stat-sheet in 2012, notching 67 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles. It's doubtful Scott is bringing home any guaranteed money beyond 2013. He'll turn 32 next month.

The Bills are now listing former S Bryan Scott as a linebacker on their roster.

Scott was listed as a strong safety last season, although he was a nickel 'backer and will maintain that role in 2012, also playing special teams. At minicamp, Scott practiced as the lone linebacker on the field when opponents use five-receiver sets. Scott was the "Mike," playing in coverage over the middle.

Bills re-signed S Bryan Scott.

A hybrid at 6'1/219, Scott is a rotational safety moving to linebacker on nickel downs. He recorded 66 tackles, one sack and two interceptions in 2011. Scott will be charged with hanging with Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, and Dustin Keller as long as he hangs onto his roster spot through August.

According to WGR 550 Buffalo, the Bills are interested in re-signing free agent SS Bryan Scott.

The two sides have engaged in ''recent contract talks'' according to Scott's agent, and are expected to have a deal in place before March 13. Scott has been a rotational safety each of the last five seasons in Buffalo and is likely to return on a one- or two-year contract.

Bills S Bryan Scott is in danger of losing his roster spot after the team drafted Da'Norris Searcy in the fourth round.

Scott is due a manageable $1.15 million salary, but Searcy is another "box" safety, and Jon Corto is better on special teams. FS Jairus Byrd and SS George Wilson are projected as Buffalo's starters, while No. 34 pick Aaron Williams is capable of playing the position. Scott may be the victim of a numbers game.

Bills re-signed S Bryan Scott to a two-year contract.

Buffalo was so banged up last year at linebacker that Scott had to drop down and start on the weak side late in the season. He'll move back to strong safety in 2010 as a third-stringer behind Donte Whitner and George Wilson. The Bills have also been rumored to be dangling Whitner on the trade block.

Bills LB Bryan Scott (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 17.

It was a strange season for Scott, who was forced to move from safety to linebacker in-season thanks to a rash of injuries. He ended up with 81 tackles and two sacks in just nine games. Scott is set to become a free agent in March.

The Bills confirmed that LB Bryan Scott suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Patriots.

Per the league's new concussion policy, Scott will be out for this week's game against the Falcons.

Bills LB Bryan Scott was sidelined with an apparent concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game.

Scott collided with Patriots receiver Matthew Slater, knocking both players out of the game. Scott was clearly woozy and had to be helped off the field.

Bryan Scott has completed the transition from strong safety to linebacker, and he's expected to start in place of Keith Ellison (quadriceps) this week.

The Bills originally considered the move to get safeties Jairus Byrd and Donte Whitner into the lineup together, but now it's a necessity. Scott will give the Bills an advantage on passing downs, but he's certainly not going to help the porous run defense.

Usual strong safety Bryan Scott is now seeing reps at linebacker during Bills practice.

The Bills say he's just an emergency option at linebacker with the team battling so many injuries. Scott has likely lost his safety job entering the Week 9 bye. Buffalo figures to emerge from the off week with Donte Whitner healed from his ankle injury at strong safety, and Jairus Byrd manning free safety.

Bills SS Bryan Scott (ankle) will not play Sunday against the Dolphins.

Coach Dick Jauron revealed that Scott has a high ankle sprain, which usually sidelines a player for at least a few weeks. FS Donte Whitner (thumb) has also been ruled out for this week, meaning SS George Wilson and FS Jairus Byrd will be the starters. Chad Henne can't ask for a much better matchup.

Bills SS Bryan Scott had an MRI on his ankle and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

It would be a surprise if either Scott or Donte Whitner (thumb) play on Sunday. George Wilson is expected to fill in for Scott while Jairus Byrd will step in for Whitner.
