Once a league-average starter, Forney has appeared in just three games over the last two seasons with no starts. The 31-year-old isn't guaranteed a roster spot at a position Jacksonville is hoping to upgrade this offseason.

Forney was a surprise cut by San Diego, with the Chargers opting to go with rookie Louis Vasquez instead. The veteran will provide depth at guard, which was a major issue with the Jags last season.

Kynan Forney has won the Chargers' starting right guard job over rookie Louis Vasquez.

Forney, 31, has 89 career starts and is having a "tremendous" camp. The job will still go to Vasquez at some point. He fell way behind Forney due to a sprained foot, but has far more upside as both a run and pass blocker.

Chargers re-signed OG Kynan Forney to a two-year, $4.8 million contract.

The deal pays $2 million in '09. Forney, 30, caught on with San Diego last year after being cut by a Falcons regime that wanted to get bigger. Forney can zone block and will battle for playing time at right guard this offseason.

With Stanley gone, Grady Jackson is sure to start next to Jonathan Babineaux at defensive tackle. Forney couldn't beat out Harvey Dahl.

Falcons placed G Kynan Forney (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Ouch. The Atlanta running game hasn't been the same the last month with Forney injured and Matt Lehr on suspension. Forney will likely undergo surgery and should be ready for the start of camp in 2007.

Austin King stepped in. Forney has struggled with a shoulder injury for most of the season and is uncertain to play vs. Cleveland in Week 10.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that RG Kynan Forney was "pulled" at halftime in favor of RG Austin King.

It was initially reported that Forney left due to aggravating his shoulder injury, but the newspaper makes it sound instead like he simply got benched.

Atlanta's offensive line looks a lot better on paper with Forney a part of it. If he practices again on Friday, Forney will likely play against a Lions team that is still without both its starting defensive tackles.

Atlanta should only be without one of its starting guards this week, suspended Matt Lehr. Forney got hurt in a Week 7 win over Pittsburgh.
