The NFL fined Cardinal K Jay Feely $7,875 for a personal foul in the Cardinals' Week 4 win over the Dolphins.
It's not often we see a fine leveled against a kicker. Feely received an unnecessary roughness call when he hit an opponent late on a second half kickoff that was kicked out of the endzone for a touchback. Sat, Oct 6, 2012 09:39:00 AM

Cardinals re-signed K Jay Feely to a two-year contract.

Feely will be 36 years old during the upcoming season, but he's still plenty accurate on field goals and set a career high with 22 touchbacks last season. The NFL's new kickoff rules certainly helped that total, but it wasn't like the Cards were scoring many touchdowns. Through two seasons in Arizona, Feely is 43-of-51 on field goals, good for an 84.3-percent success rate.

Free agent K Jay Feely is in contract negotiations with the Cardinals.

Feely says he's spoken to a few teams, but he'd be smart to keep kicking beneath Arizona's retractable roof. Feely went 19-for-24 on field goals last year.

Jay Feely's 22 consecutive points last week are the most by any player in the Super Bowl Era, going back to 1967.

You have to go back to the era of the quarterback doubling as a kicker for the last player, Hall of Famer Paul Hornung, to accomplish the feat. Feely's 25 points finished one shy of the NFL record for a kicker, and he became just the fourth kicker in history to score a touchdown.

Beat writer Kent Somers expects the Cardinals to keep the University of Phoenix roof open for the first time all season.

For the five or six of you currently rostering Feely, this shouldn't have a drastic effect on his fantasy prospects. The temperatures in Glendale call for mid-to-high 70s with minimal wind. We have Feely ranked as our No. 26 kicker.

The Jets offer to retain K Jay Feely was for just one year at $300,000 less than he made last season.

"I don't take it personally even though I'm disappointed," said Feely. He had the full backing of the coaching staff, but the front office allotted fewer dollars to the position this year. Feely couldn't bring himself to accept the paycut after setting a club record with 24 straight field goals in 2009.

Cardinals agreed to terms with free agent K Jay Feely, formerly of the Jets, on a two-year, $3.5 million contract.

The Cardinals parted with strong-legged Neil Rackers due to his hiccups in key situations. Though Feely drilled an impressive 30 of 36 field goals last year, his two misses against the Colts in the AFC Championship Game suggest he may not be much of an improvement on Rackers. Having only Nick Folk on the roster, the Jets could turn to Rackers as an alternative.

Coach Rex Ryan was noncommittal Thursday when asked about bringing back free agent K Jay Feely.

"We'll see," Ryan said. "We're always open to any situation. Right now, we got Nick Folk and we’re happy to have him." Feely is only known to have received interest from the Cardinals, so he may return to the Jets once he lowers his asking price.

The Cardinals will host free agent K Jay Feely this weekend.

Feely can make clutch kicks and would be a terrific fantasy bet out in the desert, so we should like the fit. Neil Rackers seems likely to move on.

Despite the team's signing of Nick Folk, free agent Jay Feely still wants to re-sign with the Jets before the onset of free agency.

"They're being prudent," Feely said of the Folk signing, indicating that he doesn't see it as a reason to cast him aside. Considering Folk's meltdown in 2009, the Jets won't be so quick to rule out a new deal for Feely.

Free agent K Jay Feely says he wants to return to the Jets in 2010.

"I never enjoyed being on a team more than I enjoyed this team," said the gloved kicker. "And playing for a coach more than I did Rex Ryan." Feely, 34, missed a pair of field goals in Sunday's AFC title game loss to the Colts.

The Jets failed on three field goal attempts during their 10-7 loss to the Falcons Sunday.

Holder Kellen Clemens dropped a snap, kicker Jay Feely pushed one kick wide ride in 20 mph winds, and the third miss came on a blocked kick. Coach Rex Ryan has exonerated Feely from blame.

Jay Feely's one-year, $1.45 million contract with the Jets is fully guaranteed.

It would take one of the worst training camps in history for Feely to not be New York's opening-day placekicker. Feely earned the job by nailing 86% of his field-goal tries last year. He'll be a low-end fantasy option in 2009.

Jets re-signed K Jay Feely to a one-year contract.

Feely, 33, held off Mike Nugent all last year and made 24-of-28 FG tries. He's still weak on kickoffs, but is a remarkably accurate field goal kicker.

Jay Feely is expected to remain the Jets' starting kicker in Week 15.

Feely has made 11 straight FGs. He's not much of a fantasy option at home against Buffalo, but has improved his free agent stock this season by holding off a now-healthy Mike Nugent. Nugent is also in a contract year.
