The recent success of the Baltimore pass defense continued in Week 16 as the Ravens held the Pittsburgh offense to just 198 passing yards.
The success against the Pittsburgh passing game was impressive, as the Steelers are in the top-five among NFL teams in passing yardage this season. The Ravens D/ST has allowed just one 300-yard passer since Week 6 and will face Cincinnati backup A.J. McCarron on Sunday. The Ravens D/ST will be a middling fantasy option on the road in Week 17 but should have success against McCarron and the Bengals' passing attack. Jan 2 - 3:27 AM

The Baltimore defense has allowed just 190.6 passing yards per game over the last five weeks.

Baltimore hasn't had much success as a team due to a heap of offensive injuries, but their pass defense has improved recently after a rough start to the season. Week 16 brings a potent passing offense to Baltimore when division rival Pittsburgh comes to town, keeping the Ravens D/ST off the fantasy radar this week.

The Baltimore defense will face a stiff test in Week 14 when they host the Seattle Seahawks, who have averaged 459.0 total yards of offense over the last three weeks.

Seattle has averaged 35.3 points per game over that stretch, which coincides with improved play from QB Russell Wilson, who completed 76.7 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions in those three games. Baltimore has been tough on opposing passing games lately, keeping all opposition under 300 passing yards since Week 6, but still will be tough to trust from a fantasy perspective in Week 14 against Seattle.

The Baltimore defense is on pace to establish a new franchise-low in turnovers forced.

The Ravens have forced nine turnovers in 2015, the third-lowest mark among all 32 NFL teams. Per CSN Baltimore, the fewest turnovers the Ravens have forced in a single season is 22, so it appears the 2015 club is well on their way to setting a new mark. The Ravens D/ST will be a middling Week 13 fantasy option as they travel to Miami on the heels of an exciting Week 12 win over Cleveland on Monday night.

The Baltimore Ravens will attempt to slow Cleveland QB Josh McCown in Week 12, who threw for 457 yards when the two teams met in Week 5.

McCown was 36/51 for 457 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 5 Cleveland victory, and the Ravens will hope to do a better job containing the Browns quarterback this week. "He played really well against us the last game," said Ravens coach John Harbaugh. "We didn’t play very well in the back end, and we gave up way too many passing yards, too many big plays…He’s a guy that we have tons of respect for." The Ravens D/ST is an interesting streaming option this week with Cleveland lacking any running game, but sits outside the top-12 Week 12 fantasy options.

The Baltimore Ravens will host the St. Louis Rams and quarterback Case Keenum in Week 11.

Keenum takes over for Nick Foles, who was benched after Week 10. Keenum sports a 55.2 career completion percentage and has thrown 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 10 career games. The Ravens are tied for last among NFL teams in interceptions, but are worth a look this week as a potential streaming target in hopes of forcing Keenum into mistakes.

The Baltimore Ravens are tied for last among NFL teams with just four forced turnovers through eight games.

The Baltimore defense has been unable to create turnovers in 2015, but will look to change their ways this week when they face Jacksonville QB Blake Bortles. Bortles has thrown 10 interceptions this season, including seven over his last four games. The Ravens D/ST is not a very strong group but can be viewed as a streaming candidate in fantasy leagues this week due to the turnover potential of Bortles.

The Baltimore defense is 30th among NFL teams in pass defense, giving up 283.9 passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks.

Baltimore is on bye this week and the Ravens D/ST should remain on fantasy waiver wires for the foreseeable future considering their troubles in pass defense. A lighter slate of quarterbacks is on tap for Baltimore over the second half of the season, but this is not a group to trust for fantasy purposes.

The Baltimore defense will face the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, who lead in the NFL in total yards per game, averaging 430.7 yards each week.

The Chargers offense is led by Philip Rivers, who is first among NFL quarterbacks with 2,452 passing yards this season. Pass defense has been a major weakness of the Baltimore defense, leaving the Ravens D/ST as an afterthought in fantasy leagues in Week 8.

The Baltimore Ravens are 30th among NFL defenses with just four forced turnovers this season.

The Ravens D/ST has not forced a single turnover since Week 3 and now travel to Arizona to face the Carson Palmer and the Cardinals on Monday night, who average 33.8 points and 405.7 yards of total offense per game. This will not be a spot to trust the Baltimore D/ST in fantasy leagues.

The Baltimore Ravens travel to San Francisco to face the 29th ranked 49ers offense on Sunday.

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has topped 170 passing yards only twice this season and has thrown five interceptions to just four touchdowns. The San Francisco offense has averaged 307.2 total yards per contest over the first five weeks of the season and immediately makes the unimposing Ravens D/ST a Week 6 streaming candidate in fantasy leagues.

The Baltimore Ravens will face the improved passing attack of the Cleveland Browns in Week 5.

Cleveland quarterback Josh McCown has thrown for 348.5 yards per game over the last two weeks as the Browns have improved their offense after two tough weeks to begin the season. This bump in production has coincided with the use of running back Duke Johnson in the passing game, and the rookie will pose a challenge for Baltimore this week. The Ravens are 16th in the NFL in pass defense, allowing 242.3 yards per game, but this defense hasn't stood out in any capacity through four weeks. The Ravens D/ST will be a mid-tier option in Week 5.

The Baltimore run defense faces a tough week 4 matchup in Pittsburgh's Le'Veon Bell.

Bell stacked up 132 total yards on 26 touches last week in his 2015 debut but will face a Baltimore front that has had reasonable success against opposing running backs so far this season. Oakland's Latavius Murray ran for 65 yards on Baltimore in Week 2, which is the most damage Baltimore has allowed to a single running back in three games. With Pittsburgh trotting out a new quarterback on a short week, the Ravens are an interesting streaming target this week prior to a Thursday night date with the Steelers.
Thu, Oct 1, 2015 03:42:00 AM

The Baltimore Ravens will look to hand Andy Dalton his first sack of the 2015 season on Sunday.

The Cincinnati Bengals offensive line has kept Dalton clean through two weeks, one of only two NFL teams to not allow a sack so far in 2015. After a successful Week 1 effort with four sacks of Peyton Manning, the Ravens defense got to Derek Carr just once in Week 2 as they gave up 351 passing yards to the second-year quarterback. The Ravens D/ST is a mid-range Week 3 fantasy option as they attempt to slow the Cincinnati offense.

The Baltimore Ravens are looking for help with their pass rush after losing OLB Terrell Suggs with a torn Achilles'.

With Suggs out for the season, the Ravens signed LB Jason Babin to help form a committee that will attempt to replace the injured linebacker. The Baltimore defense got off to a great start in Week 1, holding Peyton Manning and the Denver offense out of the endzone but will now be without one of their top defensive weapons. Even with the loss of Suggs, the Baltimore D/ST is still a highly recommended Week 2 fantasy option as they travel to Oakland to face the Raiders.
