Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs calls new addition Elvis Dumervil the first "dominant pass rusher" he's ever been paired with.
"He is a phenomenal pass rusher and I have not had a chance to play alongside another dominant pass rusher," Suggs said. Intentional or not, it's a shot at departed OLB Paul Kruger. As a pass-rushing edge presence, Dumervil is a clear upgrade on Kruger. After seeing what Kruger accomplished opposite Suggs last season, expectations should be high for Dumervil's 2013. Terrell Suggs is not planning to have surgery on his torn right biceps.

Suggs suffered the injury in Week 13 and missed just one game. The Ravens had been seeking a second opinion on the arm earlier this week, so they must have received good news. Suggs, 31 next season, will be counted on to return to his dominant self as a pass rusher with Paul Kruger likely leaving via free agency.

The Ravens have sought a second opinion on a biceps injury suffered by OLB Terrell Suggs on December 2.

The injury cost Suggs just one game -- and he returned to become a force in the playoffs -- but offseason surgery to repair the potential tear is a "legitimate possibility." With Paul Kruger seeming likely to depart via free agency, the Ravens will be counting on Suggs as their primary pass rusher in 2013.

The Baltimore Sun mentions OLB Terrell Suggs and DT Haloti Ngata as potential restructure candidates.

Suggs carries a $13.02 million cap hit in 2013 and has two years left on his deal, while Ngata will have an $11.5 million cap hit with three years remaining. Both players would likely get extensions if a restructuring occurred. GM Ozzie Newsome is going to have a lot on his plate after the Super Bowl.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that Terrell Suggs is starting to look more like the dominating player he was prior to his Achilles injury.

"He’s becoming quicker, faster, more explosive — all of those things," Harbaugh said. "You can tell that it's healing. He’s just playing more like a normal 100 percent Terrell Suggs." After spending the first seven weeks on PUP and playing through a torn biceps since early December, Suggs has been noticeably more effective. He has 19 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble through three playoff games.

Terrell Suggs' aggravated his surgically-repaired right Achilles in Sunday's victory over the Colts.

The injury wasn't enough to take Suggs out of the game, however. "My Achilles started acting up, and it felt pretty bad, but I was like, '[Forget] that,'" Suggs said. "I wasn't going to let a repaired tendon steal our glory. ... And we had to make sure we did this for [Ray Lewis]." Suggs has taken a backseat to Paul Kruger as a pass rusher of late.

Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs (biceps) is listed as probable for Week 16 against the Giants.

Although Suggs was in and out of the lineup in last week's loss to the Broncos, he's progressed enough this week that the Ravens are confident Suggs will start against the G-Men. A healthy Suggs -- or even an 80-percent version -- would pose problems for Eli Manning and the Giants' passing game.

Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs (biceps) left Sunday's loss to the Broncos several times.

Credit Suggs for gutting it out through a torn biceps, but he was a shell of himself. Just about every time he tried to rip through a lineman or make a tackle, he grimaced in pain and went to the sideline for a few plays. He ended up with one tackle and one sack.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Terrell Suggs (torn biceps, questionable) will play on Sunday versus the Broncos.

Suggs was considered a game-time decision after putting in a limited practice on Wednesday before being a full participant on Thursday and Friday. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year was close to playing in Week 14, so it's not a surprise to see him suiting up this week. With Ray Lewis (triceps) still out, Baltimore can use all the help at linebacker they can get.

Terrell Suggs (torn biceps) expects to be a game-time decision for Sunday versus the Broncos.

Suggs is one of several defenders likely to be game-time calls, including ILBs Ray Lewis (triceps) and Dannell Ellerbe (ankle). Coach John Harbaugh said Suggs was close to playing last week, but the wet conditions played a role in holding him out.

NFL Network's Albert Breer has been told that Terrell Suggs (torn biceps) will not play today versus the Redskins.

Suggs suffered the torn biceps in last week's loss to the Steelers, and his status was uncertain for much of the week. Courtney Upshaw, Paul Kruger, and Albert McClellan will have to take on a bigger role this week, and it doesn't bode well for Baltimore's pass rush. We'd consider Suggs questionable for Week 15 at this point.

NFL Network's Albert Breer reports that "no decision has been made" on Terrell Suggs' (torn biceps) status for Sunday's game versus the Redskins, but he "plans to warm up and see how it feels."

This jives with what Jason La Canfora reported on Friday, as he suggested that Suggs will at least try to play in Washington. Baltimore desperately needs Suggs' pass rushing skills to be an effective defense. He's shaping up as a true game-time decision.

According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, "from everything I hear" Terrell Suggs (biceps, questionable) will at least try to play in Sunday's game against the Redskins.

Per La Canfora, the remaining question is "how effective he can be" playing through a torn biceps muscle. The Ravens' defense has struggled mightily without Suggs in the lineup this year, particularly in terms of rushing the passer.

Terrell Suggs (torn biceps) is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Redskins.

We've learned not to doubt Suggs when he's determined to play, but he appears to be a long shot to play Sunday in D.C. Suggs plays the run nearly as well as he rushes the passer, so his loss would be big against the Redskins' Pistol.

Terrell Suggs (torn biceps) says he's a game-time decision for Sunday, and that shutting himself down for the season is "not an option."

The Baltimore Sun considers Suggs a "long-shot" for Week 14, and so do we. Playing through a torn upper-arm muscle is tricky business, and if Suggs is going to do so, he'll likely need at least a week or two to get his bearings. He also admits making his injury worse is a possibility. "I think any time you have an injury and you play with it, you risk making it worse." Suggs is probably less than 50-50 to play again this season.
