The Denver Post considers the Broncos more likely to re-sign free agent DT Kevin Vickerson than DT Justin Bannan.
The defensive tackle position in John Fox's 4-3 scheme doesn't get the glamour, but it's a key position. Vickerson, Bannan and Mitch Unrein tied up blockers, thus allowing Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil to wreak havoc. Expect the Broncos to bring back one of their incumbents while also looking to add talent to the position. Mar 5 - 10:11 AM

Impending free agents DT Justin Bannan and S Jim Leonhard hope to re-sign with the Broncos this offseason.

"This is my home. This is where our family has settled," said the 33-year-old Bannan. "I take a lot of pride in this city." Leonhard, 30, called the Broncos the most talented team he's ever been on. Fellow free agent MLB Keith Brooking hasn't thought about the 2013 season.

Broncos agreed to terms with DT Justin Bannan on a one-year contract.

The Broncos were desperate for a veteran presence up front after losing Brodrick Bunkley to the Saints. Turning 33 next week, Bannan is still an asset as an early-down run stuffer. Denver will still target a defensive line prospect or two in the draft. Bannan's signing allows more flexibility in the first round, however.

Free agent DT Justin Bannan visited the Broncos on Thursday.

Bannan played in Denver under Josh McDaniels two years ago. The Broncos are in need of defensive tackle help with Marcus Thomas weighing offers from three teams and Brodrick Bunkley now in New Orleans.

Rams signed DT Justin Bannan to a three-year contract.

The Denver Post's Mike Klis reports former Broncos HC and current Rams OC Josh McDaniels played a part in luring Bannan to St. Louis. Bannan should be given a chance to start on the inside after tallying 35 tackles, one sack and forced fumble for Denver a season ago. Though Bannan is 32 years old, he remains a quality run stuffer and adds needed size at 6-foot-3, 310.

The Rams have begun talks with free agent DT Justin Bannan.

The Rams and Broncos appear to be in on the same defensive tackles. St. Louis isn't considered a serious contender for Brandon Mebane, so Bannan could be a fallback option.

The Denver Post reiterates that the Broncos are interested in bringing back free agent DTs Justin Bannan and Jamal Williams at a reduced rate this summer.

Bannan seems to be the top choice, and he would slide in next to Kevin Vickerson as a starter inside. The 32-year-old is also interested in returning to Baltimore, but Denver is easily the more desperate of the two teams.

Free agent DT Justin Bannan would "love" to return to the Ravens in 2011.

"I love Baltimore," said Bannan. "The Ravens organization is family to me. So that's a definite possibility." The Ravens drafted Terrence Cody to replace Bannan last year. He'd have to accept a minor role and less money to return.

Broncos released DT Justin Bannan.

Denver's free agent defensive line class of 2010 goes in the books as a monumental bust. Bannan, Jamal Williams, and Jarvis Green combined for just 32 games at $17.25 million total. The Broncos will save $4 million on Bannan after he signed a five-year, $22 million contract a year ago. The 32-year-old will likely catch on with a team running a 3-4 scheme.

Broncos DL Justin Bannan is expected to move to defensive tackle in 2011 after playing end in 2010.

Changes are in store as the Broncos transition from the 3-4 to the 4-3 under new head coach John Fox. The 6'3" 310 pound Bannan played defensive tackle for four seasons each in both Buffalo and Baltimore before moving to end in Denver, and his experience suggests little to no learning curve. He's currently a favorite to open 2011 as a starter.

Newly signed DL Justin Bannan is expected to play left end for the Broncos.

There was some thought that Bannan would be Denver's nose in the 3-4, but that was squashed when Jamal Williams signed. Bannan will likely start on the strong side, with Ryan McBean rotating in. Jarvis Green is expected to be the new starter on the right side -- the more pass rush-friendly position.

Broncos signed DL Justin Bannan to a five-year, $22 million contract with a $6.3 million signing bonus and $10.5 million in guarantees.

Bannan, 31 next month, can play both nose and end in a the Broncos' 3-4 scheme. He finished last season with 35 tackles off the bench after racking up 45 for Baltimore the previous year as injured NT Kelly Gregg's fill-in. The contract suggests the Broncos are counting on him to start.

The Broncos have set up a visit with free agent DT Justin Bannan.

Fellow Ravens free agent DT Dwan Edwards is also being recruited by the Broncos, as they attempt to bolster their defensive front. Bannan, a rotational lineman, played well in Kelly Gregg's nose tackle spot in 2008.
