Rian Lindell has won the Bucs placekicking job.

Lindell beat out UDFA Derek Dimke to take a job that opened up when Lawrence Tynes picked up a staph infection. Over the last three years, Lindell is just 50-of-60 (83.3 percent) on field goals -- but just 3-of-7 from 50+ yards.

Bucs agreed to terms with K Rian Lindell, formerly of the Bills.

It's bad news for Lawrence Tynes, who has been battling a toe injury. FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo believes Tynes is likely headed to injured reserve. Among the most experienced kickers in the league, Lindell should easily dispatch second-year UDFA Derek Dimke. Lindell's fading leg strength is the main reason he was cut loose by the Bills, but P Michael Koenen handles kickoffs in Tampa.

The Bucs will work out free agent kickers Rian Lindell and David Buehler on Thursday.

The Bucs are turning up the heat on Lawrence Tynes and Derek Dimke. Lindell is the top free agent kicker available, with Dan Carpenter not far behind.

Bills released K Rian Lindell.

Lindell is just 18 months removed from a four-year, $11 million extension, but his fate was sealed when the Bills used a sixth-round pick on Dustin Hopkins. Lindell was as accurate as ever last season, converting 21-of-24 field goals, but the Bills grew impatient with his weak leg. Lindell has made just five 50-plus-yard field goals over the past five seasons. Nevertheless, with an 81.3 career success rate, Lindell will latch on elsewhere before the year is through.

The Buffalo News reports the selection of K Dustin Hopkins in the sixth round of the draft "doesn't bode well" for K Rian Lindell.

Lindell, 36, has been the Bills' kicker for the last ten seasons, and he inked a new four-year, $11 million deal last offseason. He doesn't have a particularly strong leg, and it's proven tough for him to kick through the strong Buffalo winds. The Bills would save just $300,000 by releasing him.

Bills re-signed K Rian Lindell to a four-year, $11 million contract.

Lindell is 35 and missed eight games in 2011 due to injury. While we can't imagine the Bills committed much, Lindell will be a good bet to beat out Brandon Coutu to keep his job in 2012. Buffalo's offense will have to take a major surge to get Lindell back on the fantasy radar.

Bills placed K Rian Lindell (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Lindell suffered a shoulder injury while making a tackle on a kickoff return a month ago. The Bills conceded last week that he's ready to kick again, but there's concern that the shoulder wouldn't hold up if he was forced to make a tackle. Lindell is a free agent in 2012. Dave Rayner will handle kicking chores the rest of the way.

Bills K Rian Lindell (shoulder) is not expected to be cleared to return this week.

The training staff still has concerns over Lindell's ability to safely make tackles on kickoffs. Dave Rayner will continue to fill in.

Bills K Rian Lindell (shoulder) is expected to be held out for one more week.

Lindell is well enough to kick, but there's still concern that he could aggravate the injury by attempting to make a tackle on kickoffs. Dave Rayner will handle field-goal duties against the Titans.

Bills kicker Rian Lindell will miss 4-6 weeks with a shoulder injury.

Lindell was performing just outside of the top-12 fantasy kickers in most leagues, so his replacement probably won't garner much fantasy interest outside of deeper formats. We'll see whose tires they kick over the next few days.

Bills K Rian Lindell has a "bad" shoulder injury, coach Chan Gailey revealed during his Monday press conference.

Gailey believes the Bills will need a new kicker for at least one game. On the season, Lindell is 13-of-15 on field goal attempts and 25-for-25 with extra points. Dave Rayner and Shayne Graham are possibilities that come to mind.

Bills K Rian Lindell sustained a shoulder injury in Sunday's loss to the Jets.

Lindell suffered the injury while making a tackle in kick coverage. After that, he was unable to take kickoffs or long field goals. Lindell's status for Week 10 is unclear, but owners should be making other plans.
Mon, Nov 7, 2011 09:18:00 AM

Bills signed placekicker Rian Lindell to a five-year, $9.1 million contract extension through 2011.

Lindell is a solid kicker who holds up well in the elements in Buffalo. He's missed only two kicks in 2006 and has made over 80% for three straight years, meanwhile accumulating three consecutive 100-point seasons. Buffalo's offensive improvement could help him down the line.
Tue, Dec 26, 2006 09:37:00 PM

Rian Lindell hit five field goals in week one.

Lindell went 5-for-5 with an extra point. With Buffalo's run conservative offense, Lindell could get a lot of chances in the red zone.
