The Carolina defense has forced 13 turnovers in the last four weeks.
The undefeated Panthers have outscored opponents 137-81 over those four games and will travel to Dallas in Week 12 where they will look to continue their defensive success. Carolina is also third among NFL defenses in sacks this season and will be a top-tier fantasy option at Dallas in Week 12. Nov 26 - 3:13 AM

Carolina CB Charles Tillman (knee) is expected to miss Week 11.

The Charlotte Observer expects second-year cornerback Bené Benwikere to get the start with Tillman sidelined. The Carolina defense will look to shutdown Washington QB Kirk Cousins on Sunday, who is coming off an impressive performance in a big win at home against New Orleans in Week 10. The Carolina D/ST has the tools to keep Cousins in check this week despite the secondary injury concerns and will be a top fantasy option on Sunday.
Nov 21 - 2:51 AM

The Carolina defense is allowing just 5.9 yards per attempt and a 56.6 completion percentage to opposing passers in 2015.

Both marks are the best among NFL defenses and are part of the reason the Panthers are sitting comfortably at 8-0. Week 10 brings a matchup with Tennessee and QB Marcus Mariota, who is coming off an impressive 371 yard, four touchdown performance in Week 9. Tennessee averages just 331.5 total yards per game, good for 28th among NFL teams, making the Panthers D/ST a top Week 10 fantasy option.
Nov 15 - 1:42 AM

Standout Carolina CB Josh Norman is looking forward to facing Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers on Sunday when the Panthers host the Packers.

Norman is tied for second in the NFL in interceptions with four, and is catching Rodgers off of a down game where he threw for just 77 yards against Denver. Norman is excited for the opportunity, telling the Charlotte Observer, "I’m sitting back here watching film on this guy, the stuff that he’s able to do, man. I’m like, I’m going to have to plaster (coverage) all night and not take any plays off." Carolina has been solid against opposing passers in 2015 and the Panthers D/ST will remain a top-five fantasy option in Week 9.
Nov 6 - 4:11 PM

The Carolina Panthers will be a top Week 8 fantasy option when they host the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night.

The Carolina D/ST will square off with Andrew Luck and the Colts, who are tied for 23rd among NFL teams in scoring at just 21.0 points per game. The Colts have also had trouble with turnovers this season, piling up 15 giveaways in seven games. Fantasy owners can count on the Carolina D/ST this week as the Panthers look to stay undefeated.
Oct 30 - 4:31 AM

Carolina DE Jared Allen will start on Sunday after missing Week 6 with a pinched nerve in his back.

The Panthers D/ST will get a pass rush boost from Allen as they face the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday. The Carolina defense has 13 sacks on the season and will be a top-five fantasy option this week as they take on Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford, who has five interceptions over the last two weeks.
Oct 23 - 11:54 PM

The Carolina Panthers travel to Seattle in Week 6 to face the Seahawks, who lead the NFL in rushing.

The success of the Seattle running game is impressive considering the suspect play of their offensive line and injury status of Marshawn Lynch. Backup RB Thomas Rawls has filled-in nicely however, and Russell Wilson is always a threat with his legs. The Carolina defense is no slouch in defending the run, allowing just 92 rushing yds/gm, good for sixth-best in the NFL. The Carolina D/ST will be a top-10 option this week among fantasy defenses.
Oct 15 - 6:10 PM

The Carolina Panthers will see a tough slate of opponents after their Week 5 bye.

The Panthers D/ST has been a productive fantasy option through four weeks, but the competition will get tougher starting in Week 6. After Carolina comes out of the bye, they will face Seattle, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, and Green Bay. While the Panthers D/ST and star cornerback Josh Norman can certainly overcome tough opposition, the future schedule of Carolina may be enough for fantasy owners to drop this defense during their bye.
Oct 8 - 3:21 AM

The Charlotte Observer believes the Carolina defense will use "coverage disguises" in their secondary in an attempt to confuse QB Jameis Winston.

"When the Panthers face a young quarterback, defensive coordinator Sean McDermott’s scheme typically includes coverage disguises in the secondary (see Week 1 vs. Jacksonville’s Blake Bortles)," said Joseph Person of the Observer. Carolina held Bortles to 183 yards through the air and two interceptions in Week 1 and are hoping for more of the same from Winston on Sunday. A top-five fantasy defense so far, the Carolina D/ST will be a recommended start this week at Tampa Bay.
Oct 3 - 2:47 PM

With Drew Brees (shoulder) ruled out for Week 3, the Carolina Panthers will face Saints quarterback Luke McCown.

McCown is the proud owner of nine career touchdowns and 14 career interceptions as an NFL quarterback and has thrown only one pass in a regular season game since 2011. Facing Brees' backup only strengthens this matchup for the already formidable Carolina defense. The Panthers D/ST is off to a hot start in fantasy leagues and will continue the strong play on Sunday as a top Week 3 start in this stellar matchup.
Sep 26 - 2:29 AM

Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly (concussion) is making progress in the NFL's concussion protocol.

Carolina coach Ron Rivera admitted that he was unsure whether Kuechly will play in Week 2, telling the Charlotte Observer, "No conjecture would be fair because, again, this is serious and we’ve just got to follow the protocol." Carolina draws a great Week 2 matchup with the Houston Texans and recently named starting quarterback Ryan Mallett. The return of Luke Kuechly would be a nice boost for the Panthers D/ST, but the group will still be a top fantasy play in Week 2 with or without their defensive leader.
Sep 17 - 12:08 AM

Carolina defensive lineman Star Lotulelei will likely miss Week 1 while he continues to recover from a foot injury.

The Carolina D/ST is still a top Week 1 option as they face Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars, who gave up sacks in bunches last season. Lotulelei will aim for a Week 2 return when the Panthers host the Houston Texans.
Sep 11 - 3:53 AM

The Charlotte Observer highlighted sack totals for Luke Kuechly and Kony Ealy as "key numbers" for the Panthers team in 2015.

Carolina was in the middle of the pack in terms of sacks last season, clocking in at 13th in NFL with 40 total quarterback takedowns. DC Sean McDermott's defense will look to keep the pressure rolling in 2015 behind stud LB Luke Kuechly and emerging second-year DE Kony Ealy. The Carolina D/ST will be a solid Week 1 option when they face Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Sep 5 - 2:39 AM

The Panthers defense intercepted Tom Brady twice as they faced the Patriots in Week 3 of the NFL preseason.

Charles Tillman and Kurt Coleman both got in the action for Carolina, who will need a stout defensive effort in 2014 after losing offensive playmaker Kelvin Benjamin to a torn ACL. The Panthers D/ST unit and running game will need to be staples of the Carolina team in 2015, as they were down the stretch last season when Carolina finished 4-0 in December while allowing just 10.8 points per game.
