Falcons agreed to terms with DT Kindal Moorehead on a two-year contract.

Moorehead, 29, is a 285-pound penetrator. He had five sacks for Carolina in 2005, but only three since. Jonathan Babineaux should play in front of him.

If all goes well, he'll sign a multi-year deal before he leaves. The reserve spent five years in Carolina, but they didn't show much interest in re-signing him.

Panthers re-signed DT Kindal Moorehead to a one-year contract.

If they're serious about trading Kris Jenkins, retaining Moorehead provides insurance. He adds depth as a pass rusher to a group that also includes Ma'ake Kemoeatu, Damione Lewis and Jordan Carstens.

Carolina is expected to let DE Kindal Moorehead test free agency.

He had five sacks in 2005 but fell out of the rotation last year. With Mike Rucker likely gone, Carolina is facing a possible Stanley McClover-Al Wallace combination opposite Julius Peppers heading to free agency.

DT Kindal Moorehead (knee) is expected back before the end of June.

Moorehead, who recently had arthroscopic knee surgery, was a productive part of the Panthers' interior line rotation last season. This year, he'll have to earn a roster spot with several offseason additions and Kris Jenkins returning.

The reserve will have a harder time finding the field this season after Carolina's free agent moves.

Moorehead and Julius Peppers' combined injuries are trouble for Carolina. It could be tough to apply pressure against Seattle's offensive line.

Panthers DT Kindal Moorehead was downgraded to questionable with a shoulder problem.

Carolina's front seven was already thin this Sunday. OLB Brandon Short was also added as questionable with a back problem. Carolina is running out of reserves.
