Redskins hired Phillip Daniels as director of player development.
Daniels, 39, retired after being released by the Redskins following the lockout. The 99th pick in the '96 draft, Daniels played 14 seasons as a 6-foot-5, 302-pound end/tackle. He recorded 62 career sacks for the Seahawks, Bears, and Redskins. Daniels' son, DaVaris, was a four-star recruit out of Vernon Hills (IL) and will be a sophomore wide receiver at Notre Dame in 2012.
