Redskins released WR Bobby Wade and NT Howard Green, and waived LB Curtis Gatewood, OL Clint Oldenburg, and OL Chad Rinehart.
Wade was beaten out by Roydell Williams, and Green by Anthony Bryant. It's about time the Skins gave up on Rinehart, who's proved he simply can't play. Sun, Sep 5, 2010 02:17:00 AM

Bobby Wade has moved ahead of Roydell Williams' as the Redskins' second-team receiver.

Neither player is particularly good bet to have an impact in the regular season, but it's hard to rule anything out with this motley crew of receivers. Meanwhile, Devin Thomas remains with the third team.

Redskins agreed to terms with WR Bobby Wade on an undisclosed contract.

Wade caught 36 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games with the Chiefs last season. He'll battle for a spot on the Redskins roster, likely in Antwaan Randle El's former role as slot receiver. Wade is also punt-return insurance in case rookie Terrence Austin fails to impress.

Bobby Wade caught four balls for 34 yards in Week 14.

Wade started opposite Chris Chambers again, but saw fewer targets than backup Mark Bradley. All three of the above Chiefs receivers will lose value with Dwayne Bowe ready to come off suspension in Week 15.

Bobby Wade led the Chiefs with four receptions for 36 yards against the Broncos in Week 13.

Wade dropped a long bomb early in the game, leading to a shouting match with coach Todd Haley. He's not even close to being a fantasy option the rest of the way.

Chiefs coach Todd Haley confirmed that Bobby Wade will be active this week thanks to Dwayne Bowe's suspension.

Wade has been inactive the last two weeks as he lost his slot job to Lance Long and Chris Chambers was signed. Haley said that it was just a numbers game, but don't look for much production out of Wade. The clear beneficiaries of Bowe's absence will be Long and Chambers.

Chiefs have declared WR Bobby Wade, CB Donald Washington, S DaJuan Morgan, LB David Herron, LB Justin Rogers, TE Jake O'Connell, and TE Sean Ryan inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Wade will be inactive for the second straight week in a row, which is a little surprising. With Sean Ryan inactive, look for TE Leonard Pope's role to expand this week.

Chiefs declared WR Bobby Wade, OT Ike Ndukwe, TE Jake O'Connell, third QB Matt Gutierrez, CB Donald Washington, S Jon McGraw, TE Brad Cottam, and LB Pierre Walters inactive for Week 9.

Wade's demotion is the biggest surprise, as he is listed as a starter on the depth chart and had been playing ahead of Mark Bradley. Instead, the Chiefs are getting newly acquired Chris Chambers into the mix immediately.

Bobby Wade caught four passes for 66 yards against the Chargers in Week 7.

Wade led the Chiefs in targets with eight while Mark Bradley was invisible all afternoon. He now appears to be the No. 2 option in the passing game, but that's not enough for consistent fantasy value even in PPR leagues.

Bobby Wade caught just two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.

With Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) out, Wade and Mark Bradley were the featured receivers. That went about as well as it sounds. Bradley played much better than Wade Sunday but it remains to be seen who will line up across from Bowe when he returns. Either way, it's a situation to avoid.

Bobby Wade caught six passes for 72 yards in the Chiefs' Week 2 loss to the Raiders.

Coach Todd Haley wasn't kidding when he said he was displeased with Mark Bradley's Week 1. Bradley started, but was quickly taken off the field in favor of Wade, who just signed last week. This is a situation to avoid in fantasy. Haley has a quick hook for anyone not meeting his playing standards and who gets the most snaps opposite Dwayne Bowe may be a week-to-week decision.

Chiefs coach Todd Haley wants Bobby Wade to contribute Sunday as a receiver and punt returner, even though he was just signed on Monday.

The Chiefs sorely need him to return punts, but Haley said he won't be active if he can't contribute in other ways. Wade won't be a factor in the passing game this week, but could eventually push Mark Bradley for snaps once he gets a grip on the playbook.

Chiefs signed WR/PR Bobby Wade, formerly of the Vikings.

He'll help in the punt return game, where Maurice Leggett fumbled his only chance before being replaced by Bobby Engram in Sunday's opener. Wade will also move into the receiver corps behind Dwayne Bowe, Mark Bradley, and Engram. The Colts also had interest.

Free agent receiver Bobby Wade "is expected" to sign with the Titans, according to FOX Sports' John Czarnecki.

Wade, 28, would give the team a viable punt returner and an option at slot receiver, although Nate Washington can play there too and is probably ready for full-time duty again after being "limited" in Thursday night's opener.

Despite struggles in the return game Thursday night, Titans coach Jeff Fisher said "we are happy with where the roster is right now."

Bobby Wade is available and has some experience returning punts. Starting Friday, veterans can be signed without having to guarantee their contracts for the whole season. Cortland Finnegan muffed one punt against the Steelers and failed to catch two others.
