Marty Booker caught four passes for 57 yards and a touchdown and rushed one time for seven yards against the Bills in Week 16.
Booker had a much bigger role than No. 2 receiver Michael Jenkins (2 receptions, 22 yards), though that won't be the case next week against the Bucs. Booker had only 12 receptions on the season coming into this game. Sun, Dec 27, 2009 04:54:00 PM

Marty Booker -- not Brian Finneran -- started in place of Michael Jenkins (ankle) in Sunday's loss to Philadelphia.

It didn't make a difference, though, as Booker only caught one ball for four yards. Borderline countless injuries to key skill players have suddenly rendered the Falcons a truly bad team. They host the undefeated Saints next.

Falcons signed WR Marty Booker.

Booker, 33, was released by the Bears in February after recording just 15 catches last season. The Falcons are bringing in veterans for depth with Brian Finneran, Aaron Kelly and Troy Bergeron behind Michael Jenkins and holdout Roddy White. Booker is no lock to make the team, much less emerge as a fantasy factor. White isn't exactly rushing to the dotted line with Thursday's moves.

Bears released WR Marty Booker.

Though Booker was signed cheaply at $1 million, he caught a career-low 14 passes last season. Booker was reasonably productive as recently as 2006 (55-757-6), but he's turning 33 this summer. He will struggle just to make a Week 1 roster.

The Chicago Tribune believes that Marty Booker will be "out of the mix" for the Bears next season.

Booker is on the hook for a $1 million salary. That's cheap enough that he might make it to training camp, but Booker figures to be the first receiver slashed if the Bears take a wideout early in the draft or get one in free agency.

Bears declared WR Marty Booker, QB Caleb Hanie, WR Devin Aromashodu, RB Garrett Wolfe, FB Jason McKie, G Terrence Metcalf, WR Brandon Rideau, and DE Ervin Baldwin inactive for Week 15 against the Saints.

Chicago has four WRs up; Devin Hester, Rashied Davis, Brandon Lloyd, and Earl Bennett. Hester and Davis will start. With Wolfe down, the Bears could have all kinds of trouble stopping kick returner Pierre Thomas and punt return ace Reggie Bush. Wolfe is Chicago's top special teams tackler.

Marty Booker (ribs) is listed as doubtful for Thursday night.

When the Bears go three wide against New Orleans, they could put Brandon Lloyd outside opposite Devin Hester with Rashied Davis in the slot. However, the likely unfavorable elements and Chicago's offensive strengths make it probable that OC Ron Turner will employ heavy use of two-tight end sets and try to run it down New Orleans' throat with Matt Forte.

X-rays revealed that Marty Booker suffered a cracked rib in Sunday's win.

Booker was sandwiched by two Jaguars after a 12-yard catch in the fourth quarter Sunday. His availability going forward will be a pain-tolerance issue.

Bears receiver Marty Booker hurt his ribs against the Jaguars Sunday.

He was helped to the bench and had trouble breathing, but did not rule out playing against the Saints on Thursday night.

Marty Booker limped off the field after making a reception in the fourth quarter against the Jaguars.

He had made three catches for 28 yards before exiting the game.

Bears declared WR Marty Booker, third QB Caleb Hanie, FB Jason McKie, G Terrence Metcalf, DT Matt Toeaina, WR Brandon Rideau, DE Ervin Baldwin, and RB Kevin Jones inactive for Sunday night's tilt with Minnesota.

Earl Bennett will be the fourth receiver with Booker out. Booker is dealing with a knee injury. Jones has tumbled down the depth chart because he doesn't play special teams. Matt Forte should get a big workload tonight.

Marty Booker (questionable, knee) was limited in Bears practice Friday.

It will be a game-time decision as to whether Booker resumes No. 3/4 WR duties against Minnesota. Rashied Davis and Devin Hester are starting.

Marty Booker (knee) returned to a limited practice Thursday.

Booker may return to game action this week, but he's not a fantasy option.

Marty Booker (knee) sat out Bears practice Wednesday.

Booker, who was inactive last Sunday, is uncertain to play in Week 13.
Wed, Nov 26, 2008 03:36:00 PM

Marty Booker (knee) has been ruled out for the Bears' Week 12 game.

This could get Brandon Lloyd into the lineup more at St. Louis, although he caught only two balls last week and hasn't regained his starting position.
