The Bills are one of the only teams willing to sign ex-Rams. FS Donte Whitner (thumb) and SS Bryan Scott (ankle) have been out for two weeks. If Johnson suits up on game day, he'll play special teams and back up at safety.

Rams S Todd Johnson was down for several moments after being injured while covering a punt Sunday. It was later revealed that he sprained his neck.

The reserve safety had made three tackles on the day before getting hurt. Johnson, who might be in line to start if Corey Chavous sits out Week 6 with a strained pectorals muscle, is uncertain to face Baltimore.

Rams signed S Todd Johnson to a four-year, $3.9 million contract.

Johnson played fairly well for Chicago when pressed into duty late last season before sustaining a haunting ankle sprain. He'll provide depth to a crew that includes Corey Chavous, O.J. Atogwe and Jerome Carter.

Free agent S Todd Johnson visited with the Dolphins on Monday.

Johnson played collegiately at Florida and might want to go home. He would likely compete with Yeremiah Bell, who may have been the best player in Miami's secondary last year, to start at strong safety.

Free agent safeties Todd Johnson and Cameron Worrell are considered long shots to return to the Bears in 2007.

Both players are well under 30. Johnson, a hitter, could catch on as a third safety somewhere. Worrell is mostly a special teams performer.

Todd Johnson will be back for Chicago in the playoffs.

He was made a surprise inactive in Week 17 because he wasn't 100%. But it appears he'll be Chicago's third safety in the playoffs or possibly replace Chris Harris in the starting lineup.

Bears safety Todd Johnson was a surprise inactive Sunday night.

Certainly the Bears can afford to rest him, but it appears as though he's lost his starting strong safety job to Chris Harris. Johnson had an ankle injury but has practiced without limits for the last three weeks.

Bears SS Todd Johnson (questionable, ankle) practiced fully all week.
