Chargers released WR Kelley Washington.
Washington's chances of making the roster went up in smoke when he injured his knee three weeks ago. Active eight times for the Bolts last season, he notched 13 catches for 173 yards. He should get into a game somewhere this year. Sat, Sep 3, 2011 12:11:00 PM

Chargers WR Kelley Washington (knee strain) is expected to miss six weeks.

Earlier reports had Washington out just three weeks after he injured the knee on Thursday. The injury should open up a roster spot for kickoff return specialist Bryan Walters.

Coach Norv Turner revealed Friday that WR Kelley Washington suffered a knee strain in Thursday's preseason opener and is out three weeks.

When we hear three weeks, we think it's got to be something more serious than a "strain." A partially torn MCL -- in some circles referred to as an MCL "sprain" -- is probably more likely. Either way, it'll give impressive kickoff return prospect Bryan Walters a better chance of cracking San Diego's roster.

Chargers agreed to terms with WR Kelley Washington on a one-year deal.

Washington was picked up off the street by the Chargers last November. He showed enough to earn a special teams role once again.

Chargers signed WR Kelley Washington.

With Buster Davis on injured reserve, the Chargers were left with only Patrick Crayton, Seyi Ajirotutu and Gary Banks at wideout. Washington can function as a third receiver and special teamer, but he won't be a fantasy option just days after signing.

The Chiefs will work out free agent WR Kelley Washington, WR Sam Aiken, LB Pierre Woods and S Gerald Alexander Tuesday.

They're likely just looking for a possible special teams addition. Washington, Aiken and Woods have all excelled on special teams at times in the past.

The Eagles plan to work out free agent WR Kelley Washington Tuesday.

Washington was one of the Eagles' final cuts this preseason. He is a good special teams player and would provide depth at receiver. The fact that he's working out could be an indication that Riley Cooper isn't ready to return from his concussion.

Eagles released WR Kelley Washington and OG Max Jean-Gilles.

The Eagles opted to go with Hank Baskett as the special teamer and No. 4 receiver, though Washington was a much stronger player last season. Jean-Gilles will be re-signed on Sunday. He's only being dropped to allow the Stacy Andrews trade to go through at the deadline.

Eagles signed WR Kelley Washington, formerly of the Ravens, to a one-year contract.

Washington was outstanding early last season as a third-down weapon, but the Eagles already have one of the best in Jason Avant. Expect Washington to battle Hank Baskett for the fifth receiver/special teamer role with rookie Riley Cooper also in the mix.

Eagles worked out free agent WRs Kelley Washington and Jared Perry on Thursday.

Washington is also reported to be drawing interest from the Vikings. He'd be a threat to Hank Baskett's job if the Eagles signed him. Perry is an undrafted rookie out of Mizzou.

The Vikings are reportedly interested in adding free agent WR Kelley Washington.

The lack of earlier interest in Washington is perplexing. He was money on third downs last season while also offering stellar special teams work. He would battle a half-dozen other options for the fourth or fifth receiver job in Minnesota.

The Redskins, Eagles, Seahawks, Bills and Raiders are among the teams that are interested in free agent WR Kelley Washington, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The Ravens have shown zero interest in bringing Washington back even though he set a career high with 34 catches last season. He could help someone as a special teams asset and backup receiver.

Unrestricted free agent WR Kelley Washington is drawing interest from the Bills and Seahawks, according to Joe Fortenbaugh of the National Football Post.

You know you're nothing special when the receiver-desperate Ravens don't really want you back. Washington is best suited as a No. 3/4 receiver and special teamer.

The Baltimore Sun suggests Kelley Washington could be "the odd man out" in the Ravens' receiver rotation this year.

An unrestricted free agent, Washington is expected to be re-signed. Though he was magic on third downs early in the season, he disappeared in the second half. Washington is a capable fourth receiver/special teamer, but the Ravens can do better in three-receiver sets.
Sat, Feb 20, 2010 04:18:00 PM

The Ravens have reportedly informed the player rep for free agent WR Kelley Washington that they want to re-sign his client.

Washington was a bit stretched as a third receiver last season, but he'd be a quality re-signing if the Ravens are able to upgrade the Nos. 1 and 3 spots (assuming Derrick Mason stays on as No. 2) this offseason. Washington has no upside going on age 31, but cover kicks well and is a useful backup.
