Free agent Chad Johnson has been arrested for violating the terms of his probation in his 2012 domestic violence case.
Ochocinco violated the terms of his probation by missing two visits with his probation officer, and failing to prove he had enrolled in a domestic violence education class. The 35-year-old former NFLer is now facing jail time. May 20 - 11:25 AM

TMZ.com reports that Broward County, FL has issued a warrant for free agent Chad Johnson's arrest.

The warrant stems from his domestic violence conviction involving ex-wife Evelyn Lozada last summer. Johnson has reportedly failed to report to his probation officer, violating the terms of his probation. If a judge determines that he indeed violated the terms of his probation, Johnson could face jail time.

Free agent WR Chad Johnson is still trying to get back in the NFL.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Johnson is "working out every day, wanting to play, willing to do what it takes." But much like his old friend Terrell Owens, it's just not going to happen. Johnson is 35 and hasn't put anything positive on tape since 2010. Neither guy is worth the trouble.

Free agent Chad Johnson pleaded no contest on Monday in his battery case that is still being resolved.

Johnson has participated in anger management and is asking to be put on administrative probation in order to put the case to rest. Johnson also reiterated his desire to return to the NFL this season. He has already expressed a desire to play for the Texans. Nobody is going to sign the 35-year-old.

Free agent WR Chad Johnson is hoping to make a comeback this season.

Johnson told CSN Houston that he wants to play for the Texans, but conceded he’s in "no position to be picky." After being released by the Dolphins in training camp and missing all of 2012, it's unlikely any team is willing to take on a shot on him. Johnson turned 35 this offseason and hasn't been productive since 2010.

Free agent WR Chad Johnson admitted on ESPN's First Take Wednesday that his August arrest for domestic battery, in addition to an obsession with self-promotion, cost him the end of his NFL career.

"I messed up. I messed up," said Johnson. "Period. I lost everything. Football, my wife, the family I had, over something that didn't really mean anything." Johnson finalized his divorce from Evelyn Lozada in September. "I lost that edge when my focus went away from the game of football," Johnson also conceded. "I know that. I understand that." Johnson says he's now "humbled", and guaranteed that he's "going to play again." He turns 35 in a month.

Free agent WR Chad Johnson is not working out for the Eagles Tuesday.

Johnson created a stir when he tweeted that he had a flight to Philadelphia Tuesday morning. As it turns out, his trip to the city of brotherly love has nothing to do with the football team. Johnson remains unlikely to play in the NFL this season.

Tuesday's episode of Hard Knocks revealed that Chad Johnson was struggling to pick up the Dolphins' offense, just as he did last year in New England.

Asked if his receivers could play all positions, coach Joe Philbin replied, "Well, most of them ... You know, the big knock on [Johnson] when he came here was he couldn't pick up the system." A peek inside one film session showed all three QBs shaking their heads because Johnson didn't know where to go. He may have been running with the starters in camp, but Johnson was far from guaranteed a roster spot even if he hadn't been arrested last weekend. The episode won't sit well with potential suitors.

Free agent Chad Johnson has issued an apology for his domestic violence arrest over the weekend.

The apology comes just hours after Johnson's wife of 41 days filed for divorce. "I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred," Johnson said. "I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL ... I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life."

The Jets are not expected to pursue free agent WR Chad Johnson, according to ESPN New York.

Now 34 with rapidly declining separation skills, Johnson's off-field headaches far outweigh his on-field rewards. The Jets, who continue to give CB Antonio Cromartie reps at wideout, don't want the baggage. Beat writer Rich Cimini suggests Greg Camarillo as a possible veteran addition at the receiver spot.

Dolphins released WR Chad Johnson.

This is probably it for Chad in the NFL. Released following a domestic violence arrest wherein he was accused of headbutting his wife, Johnson's one-year deal included no guaranteed money and the Dolphins are off the hook for that contract. While Johnson still has NFL-caliber quickness, his downfield separation skills have evaporated and he's too much of a locker-room liability for any team to seriously consider at age 34. Johnson's release leaves behind Davone Bess, Legedu Naanee, Roberto Wallace, and injured Brian Hartline as Miami's top four wide receivers. We like what we've seen of rookie Ryan Tannehill so far, but any quarterback would struggle throwing to that group.

Chad Johnson was arrested on domestic violence charges Saturday night in Davie (FL).

According to the police report, Johnson head-butted his wife during an argument and caused lacerations to her forehead. Regardless of whether he's charged, the incident will be subject to the league's personal conduct policy, and could put Johnson's status with the Dolphins in jeopardy. Johnson was issued bond and will be released from Broward County jail early Sunday morning.

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero believes Chad Johnson is the "best wide receiver on the (Dolphins) right now."

This can either be taken as a point in Johnson's favor, or one-sentence summation of the dire state of the Dolphins' receiver corps. Nevertheless, it was just as likely that the early reports were going to peg Johnson as done, so his odds of cracking the 53-man roster appear to be steadily on the rise. There's a strong chance he'll begin the year as a starter.

Chad Johnson opened Dolphins camp as a starting wideout.

The first-team wideouts were Johnson, Davone Bess and Legedu Naanee. Brian Hartline, who has missed some time due to an appendectomy, should be among the starters shortly. Johnson, who is operating without guarantees in his contract, will have to earn his spot.

NFL.com's Bryan McIntyre reports there are no guarantees in Chad Johnson's one-year, $925,000 contract.

The contract does call for another $1.075 million in incentives tied to receptions. Johnson offers a quickness and experience lacking in Miami's wide receiver corps, but he's going to have to earn a starting job to stay on the final roster. The Dolphins won't want to carry an aging receiver as a reserve if he doesn't contribute on special teams.
