Patriots agreed to terms with DT Gerard Warren.

The Patriots used two of their seven draft picks on defensive ends, but didn't take a tackle. Warren was released by the Pats on the eve of the regular season last year, but was re-signed in September, and went on to play 251 snaps across 12 games. He's not assured of a roster spot.

Free agent DT Gerard Warren has an "outside chance" of re-signing with the Patriots "down the road."

The No. 3 pick of the 2001 draft posted career lows across the board last season as he appeared in just 12 games as a part-time player. He's drawn no known interest since the beginning of free agency.

Patriots re-signed DT Gerard Warren.

Warren was released just prior to the season opener to make room for a third tight end. The 33-year-old will take Landon Cohen's roster spot as a rotational defensive lineman.

Patriots released DT Gerard Warren.

Warren goes to make room for TE Dan Gronkowski, but could be back following Week 1 when veteran's contracts are no longer guaranteed for the whole year. Warren, 33, is a rotational interior rusher at best at this point in his career.

Patriots re-signed DT Gerard Warren.

Warren, 33, started 10 games for the Patriots last season, finishing with 26 tackles and 3.5 sacks. He's not a run-stopping force, however, and will have to make the roster based on pass-rushing ability in sub-packages. The recent signing of Shaun Ellis will make that a more difficult goal for Warren.

Impending free agent DE Gerard Warren wants to play an 11th season in 2011, and he hopes it's with the Patriots.

Warren exceeded expectations as a rotational end this past season, helping to fill Ty Warren's shoes. The 32-year-old will have to accept a contract similar to his $900,000 2010 salary to stay in New England.

The Patriots have tabbed Gerard Warren to replace Ty Warren as their starting left defensive end.

Warren, a 32-year-old journeyman on his fourth NFL team, is playing in a 3-4 defense for the first time in his life. He does have ideal size for a 3-4 strong-side end at 6'4/330, but has always been known as a gap-shooting pass rusher. His primary responsibility is now to contain and stop the run.

Patriots agreed to terms with DL Gerard Warren on a one-year, $900,000 contract.

The former Gators continue to invade New England. Owed nearly $6 million this year, Warren was released by the Raiders in March. The 32-year-old hasn't defended the run well, but he can pressure opposing passers. He's likely slated for Jarvis Green's former rotational role behind Ty Warren and Mike Wright.

Raiders released DT Gerard Warren.

As predicted by ESPN's Adam Schefter, Warren didn't survive the offseason with a $5.925 million roster bonus due next week. Though he can still get after quarterbacks, the 32-year-old has been a major liability against the run. Desmond Bryant is expected to take his place in the starting lineup.

Raiders NT Gerard Warren is due a $5.925 million roster bonus by March 14.

Warren is coming off a poor season as a run defender and turns 32 this summer. With Al Davis in cost-cutting mode of late, Warren's time with the Raiders appears to be up.

Raiders NT Gerard Warren left Sunday's game with a shoulder injury and did not return.

Warren had a sack and two tackles for a loss before leaving. He spent much of the game tormenting Browns center Alex Mack by twisting the rookie's fingers and hands when the refs weren't looking.

Coach Lane Kiffin revealed Monday that DT Gerard Warren "partially" tore his left pectorals muscle in the Raiders' Week 3 loss.

Since it's only a partial tear and Warren was playing very well, Oakland will likely strongly consider keeping him on the active roster. However, they'll need to add another tackle behind Tommy Kelly and Terdell Sands.

Raiders DT Gerard Warren left Sunday's game with a neck injury.

Warren, who's been Oakland's most active interior defensive lineman to date, is uncertain to play in Week 4. He has two sacks and eight tackles so far.
Sun, Sep 21, 2008 11:06:00 PM

Gerard Warren is expected to be the Raiders' starting defensive tackle next to Tommy Kelly this season.

Underachieving Terdell Sands will rotate in. Warren and Kelly are one-gap tackles, while Sands is Oakland's supposed run plugger. Despite upgrades in the back, expect this rush defense to remain among the league's poorest.
