Dolphins placed CB Michael Lehan (hamstring, ankle) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Lehan rushed back from a badly sprained ankle this preseason and never got healthy. He is signed for 2009 at a manageable rate and should return.

Dolphins CB Michael Lehan's rehabilitation from a dislocated ankle is way behind schedule.

When Lehan injured the ankle in June OTAs, coach Tony Sparano said he'd be out a couple of weeks. Two months later, he can't run without a limp or come to a quick stop. The team will be lucky if he's ready by Week 1.

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said Friday that CB Michael Lehan (dislocated ankle) may only be out for "a couple weeks."

A "couple" usually means two, but Lehan's agent expects his client to be out four to six weeks. Either way, we wouldn't count on seeing him before July.

The intitial timeframe given was four to six weeks, meaning he should be fine by the start of training camp. Lehan is one of Miami's top three corners.

The agent for Dolphins CB Michael Lehan says his client will miss the next four to six weeks after injuring his ankle during Wednesday's OTA.

This sounds good, but we'd hesitate to take any injury news coming from agents as gospel. Lehan may have suffered a high ankle sprain, a tricky injury. The agent's estimate would have him sidelined for the rest of OTAs.

Dolphins CB Michael Lehan needed to be helped off the field after suffering an ankle ankle injury at Wednesday's OTA practice.

Lehan, who's competing to start opposite Will Allen, could put no pressure on his leg after the injury. It looks like he'll be out indefinitely. Miami is not deep at corner and Lehan played well in 2007, so this would be a tough loss.

Dolphins re-signed CB Michael Lehan to a three-year, $4.95 million contract.

The deal includes $2.1 million in the first year. Lehan turned around what began as an injury riddled career by emerging as a starter opposite Will Allen in 2007. The new front office was likely pleased with what it saw on film of Lehan, who figures to be the Dolphins' nickel back at worst in 2008.

Lehan was an unrestricted free agent and is mostly a special teamer. Eckel was an exclusive rights free agent and will compete for a roster spot behind Cory Schlesinger.

Dolphins cornerback Michael Lehan re-injured his recently surgically-repaired nose and is expected to have surgery again on it Friday.

Lehan works on obvious passing downs and special teams. He's expected to be ready for Miami's next opponent, Jacksonville at home.

He'll be out for 2-3 weeks. Lehan was the favorite for the fourth cornerback spot in Miami following Will Poole's injury.
