Browns OT Ryan Tucker officially announced his retirement on WKNR AM/850 on Thursday.

Tucker played 12 NFL seasons and the last seven were with the Browns. He was marred by injuries and illness over his last four and was on I.R. for all of 2009 after having knee surgery, so the 34-year old has decided to call it a career.

Browns placed OL Ryan Tucker (knee surgery) on injured reserve.

It was reported Monday that that Browns had released Tucker, but that isn't the case. Eric Mangini even said he would "be open" to having Tucker back "if things work out that way." They'd need an injury settlement and have to wait several weeks for a reunion. Tucker, 34, would also have to be healthy.

Though Browns OT Ryan Tucker admitted considering retirement, he says his mind is now on playing football.

Browns OT Ryan Tucker is contemplating retirement, according to the Northern Ohio News-Herald.
