Former Bengals RB Chris Perry has been released by the UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions.
The Mountain Lions will move forward with onetime Cardinal Stevie Baylark and Denzel Washington's son, John David, in the backfield. Perry, 28, was the 26th overall pick in the 2004 draft. He clearly has nothing left in the tank. Tue, Aug 31, 2010 07:38:00 PM

Former Bengals RB Chris Perry and WR Antonio Chatman have signed with the UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions.

Daunte Culpepper was the high-profile signing for Sacramento, and he's backed up by one-time Texans practice squadder Shane Boyd. Former Vikings LB Dontarrious Thomas, Chargers LB Zeke Moreno, and Raiders WR Doug Gabriel have also signed on with Sacramento.

Former Bengals RB Chris Perry was reportedly arrested in Brooklyn on Wednesday after engaging in a fist fight with a family member.

Perry was arrested at his grandmother's house after an argument led to him punching his cousin in the face. Perry played for the UFL's Florida Tuskers last year after being released by the Bengals. His arrest comes six years after the Bengals selected him in the first round, passing up a chance to draft Stephen Jackson in the process.

The Jets worked out free agent RB Chris Perry earlier this week.

None of the Jets' backs (Thomas Jones, Shonn Greene, Danny Woodhead) are known to be injured. They are also carrying Chauncey Washington, who they signed off the Cowboys practice squad last week and then deactivated him on Sunday. It's possible they just wanted to see what kind of shape Perry, a first-round pick in 2004, is in.

The Chiefs worked out free agent RB Chris Perry this week.

Back from the dead. Perry, the No. 26 overall pick in 2004, fell out of the league last offseason after a dreadful 2008 campaign that began with him starting at tailback for the Bengals. How far the Cincinnati running game has come. Perry was drafted by the UFL's Orlando Tuskers over the summer.

Police have issued a warrant for free agent Chris Perry's arrest on failure to pay taxes to the City of Wyoming in 2006 and 2007.

Perry, cut by the Bengals in April, failed to show for a June 17 hearing. The 2004 first-rounder is expected to start at running back for the Orlando franchise of the UFL this season.

Bengals released RB Chris Perry.

Perry, 27, began 2008 as a starter but was the NFL's worst first-string back before losing his job to in-season pickup Cedric Benson. Various injuries have sapped Perry's explosiveness and he probably isn't even capable of being an asset on third downs any longer. No one will rush to sign him.

Bengals declared RB Chris Perry, RB Kenny Watson, third QB Carson Palmer, SS Chinedum Ndukwe, G Evan Mathis, T Levi Jones, TE Ben Utecht, and WR Jerome Simpson inactive for Week 15.

Rookie Anthony Collins again starts in Jones' place and will square off against Redskins RE Andre Carter. T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hand) is active.

Bengals RB Chris Perry aggravated his groin injury against the Colts on Sunday.

Marvin Lewis didn't sound terribly optimistic about Perry's chances of playing in Week 15. He would have only been a backup anyway. Kenny Watson is still nursing a hamstring injury as well, meaning James Johnson might be backing up Cedric Benson.

Chris Perry (hamstring, questionable) returned to a full practice Friday.

If Perry is unable to go on Sunday, the Bengals will have to use James Johnson as a backup. Kenny Watson (hamstring) is doubtful and didn't practice Friday.

Chris Perry (hamstring) did not partake in Bengals practice Wednesday.

Perry, who began the year as Cincinnati's starting halfback before losing the job to street free agent signee Cedric Benson, has touched the football 11 times since Week 6. He is not worth owning even in the deepest of leagues.

Chris Perry was hit in the head while finishing a 5-yard run in overtime Sunday.

Perry looked woozy getting off the field and isn't likely to return. It's a possible concussion. He finished with one carry for -4 yards and the aforementioned catch.

Chris Perry did not receive a carry against the Steelers in Week 7.

That closes the book on his window of opportunity as a starting NFL running back. With Cedric Benson giving the Bengals their best rushing effort of the season, don't expect to see Perry back on the field anytime soon.

Chris Perry (probable, shoulder) practiced without limits again on Friday.

He will play against Pittsburgh, but would be a very poor fantasy bet.
