Ivy, a 32-year-old career special teamer/nickel back, didn't give the Steelers what they hoped for on kickoff coverage in his one-week stay on the roster.

Steelers signed CB Corey Ivy.

Ivy, along with former Titans LB Rocky Boiman, is being brought in to fix the Steelers' embattled kickoff return unit. He won't see much time on defense.

The Jets brought free agent cornerbacks Corey Ivy and Justin Miller in for visits on Friday.

The Jets could use the corner depth with Lito Sheppard (quad) and Donald Strickland (ankle) out this Sunday against Tennessee. Ivy nearly signed with the Jets in the offseason after playing for Rex Ryan's Baltimore defense from 2006-08, and Miller is a former Jets Pro-Bowl kick returner. Dwight Lowery will start for Sheppard this week and Drew Coleman will assume nickel duties.

Free agent CB Corey Ivy visited with the Bengals on Tuesday.

Ivy played in 16 games with the Ravens last year and could be an upgrade at dimeback for the Bengals.

Browns released CB Corey Ivy.

Ivy, 32, played in 16 games for the Ravens last year. He was trying to win a job as the nickel corner and will probably pop up somewhere else soon.

Browns agreed to terms with CB Corey Ivy on a one-year contract.

Ivy, 32, has some starting experience but is too small to be an every-down outside corner. He'll push fellow journeyman Hank Poteat to play the nickel.

The Jets have reportedly "cooled" on free agent CB Corey Ivy.

The Jets may have hoped to get Ivy for cheap based on his relationship with Rex Ryan. Ivy likely would prefer to go somewhere he could compete to start.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports free agent CB Corey Ivy looks likely to visit the Bucs after spending time with the Jets this weekend.

It appears the Jets and Ivy can't come to terms on a contract - yet. New York's acquisition of Lito Sheppard may have turned Ivy into a luxury item. Safety Jim Leonhard, who also played for Rex Ryan, looks more likely to sign quickly.

Free agent CB Corey Ivy will visit with the Jets on Friday.

Rex Ryan is after all ex-Ravens. Ivy is no more than a small sub-package corner, but the Jets haven't had a reliable nickel back since Ray Mickens.

Ravens CB Corey Ivy may have damaged a ligament in his ankle during Sunday's opening-day win.

Ivy was helped off, and with Fabian Washington and Derrick Martin set to come off their one-game suspensions for Week 2, could be headed for I.R.

Corey Ivy suffered a leg injury while trying to make a tackle during Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Ivy was clearly in a lot of pain and had to helped off the field. It looked like an ankle injury, but could also be something with his knee.

Nickel back Corey Ivy will become a full-time starter for Baltimore during the final three weeks following Chris McAlister's placement on I.R.

The 5-9 Ivy has been a serviceable third corner, but with Samari Rolle continuing to deal with various injuries, Baltimore's secondary will use Derrick Martin often and likely remain beatable. The Ravens play Miami in Week 15, Seattle in Week 16, and Pittsburgh in their season finale.
Wed, Dec 12, 2007 01:31:00 PM

Ravens CB Corey Ivy is out for Sunday's game with a concussion.

Ivy, who started due to injuries ahead of him, was replaced by Ronnie Prude. The Ravens are down to Prude and Derrick Martin as their only healthy corners.

Corey Ivy will be Baltimore's primary punt returner going forward.

Ivy is also the team's nickel back, so maybe rookie David Pittman will get a chance to play in the secondary with Ivy stretched thin. Coach Brian Billick says Mark Clayton might also run back a few punts.
